This location is where they must send the bad tellers. Not friendly and has no idea how customer service works. If it was not for the Lincolnton location, I would ditch this lackluster bank

This Bank came highly recommend to me .It was the very reason that I went to them .I deposited quite a large sum due to a resent sale of a property I had sold back in Boston .I had opened two accounts , one for a Money Market Account , the other a checking account in my name & DBA Account with my Business name under my personal name . Right from the get go , the checks came to my home but not the deposit slips .When I went to the bank to get some deposit slips my account manager actually said to me , we just don,t have many customers making deposits with checks .He knew the nature of my Business and I replied my clients do pay in checks .So may I please get some deposits slips . I then showed him the Bank Book I had from a different bank back in Boston and asked him if I could get the same kind of Banking checks ,as I was used to that format .He proceeded to say that this bank Fifth Third Bank did not have that type of Book . I then asked to see what he did have available. Well look at that !! yes Indeed this bank did have the Banking Book that I needed for my Personal & DBA Checking account . The Bank Book arrived, that I had to pay over $55.00 for as my account manger said well this is a Personal & a DBA Business Checking account .So its different and you have to pay for this. OK No Problem Checks came with my name & my DBA Name . 3 days later I went to make a deposit into my Personal & Business Checking account. One of the checks to deposit had my Business name on it , then my personal name (now I set this account up with a responsible account manager that has been with this bank for over 13 years ) I have had a personal checking account with my DBA on the checks for over 30 years in Boston mass . This is how Fifth Third Bank set me up with the same account , my personal name and under that DBA with my company name that I paid over $55 for . During this time of the Corona virus one could not go into the bank only the window . I was making the deposit and the teller came back and said we cannot accept theses checks . I asked her why .She said they are made out to your business .And I said yes this is a DBA account and my full name as well under that on all the checks that i have deposited . My account is a DBA account. She then told me that the VP of the bank said no . I asked if I could come in to speak with my account manager ,when a Women came over to the window ,she slid the drawer out towards me and said to me , just take the checks back ,I am the VP of this bank and I told the teller not to deposit your checks ,she then proceeded to yell at me to just take the checks and leave . I asked her If I could come in ,to speak with my account manager . She told me I needed to make an appointment. I asked her If i could make an appointment . She told me to call him & make an appointment . So I sat in the parking lot and I called him . I asked if I could come inside Please to straighten this out .I told him what had happened, that I was outside in the parking lot, and go over what just transpired . When I brought the Checking account book in with me the one he assisted me with ,that was from his bank Fifth Third Bank he said he had mad a big mistake ,and that this Bank does not do a DBA .It just got a whole lot worse from there . I left Fifth Third Bank very frustrated. I then placed a call to my Bank in Boston and spoke to the VP of Northern Bank . A very pleasant Women . I told her my experience with Fifth Third Bank in Denver NC .She told me to mail the checks to her personally and she would deposit them into my DBA Account which I still had there ,thank God ! Same type of Banking Account ,she said she did not understand what the problem was , as there banks has hundreds of DBA account s.She then said maybe this Fifth Third bank is not the bank for you . I could not agree more !

I dont know whats happened to them over the past few years. They sure turned to a bad bank the past few years. Every time you go there you have new faces maybe if they treated people better. I dont see them as the curious bank anymore.

Over all customer service is great, they are all always so very kind and also very hard working. Never have to wait long at all to talk to someone or a clerk to handle my transactions, online banking is phenomenal! However the promotion they ran for a $150.00 for opening an account, having a direct deposit, and 3 online bill pays well never got my promotion money even though I did my part. Because a check in sent from my online banking didn't get cashed and wasent taken out of my account. Not very enthused at the fact I get denied even though I met all the requirements! The person receiving the check was a former employee of the fifth third bank (location disclosed) thought that the check was cashed into their account but possibly forgot was d*** founded to know that even though I DID what I was SUPPOSE to do I'm out a $150.00, I was told by a previous teller than the last I spoke with, whom was very helpful and seem to be doing everything in his power to help however before him I was told that all my requirements were met that it could take up to 6 weeks to get the money well I waited and waited and never saw it still to this day I opened and completed the requirements in October I believe when the promotion ran. Hard times rolled upon me and I remembered I had never got the money! Which could have and be very hekpful. So yes there is a lot to be improved but however still a very good bank to have an account with! Also android pay doesn't seem to be available with fifth third bank, always says that this bank doesn't support it yet which is inconvenient, esp when technology and cell phones are with us everywhere we go. A virtual wallet if you will. Work on those few factors and this bank could be the BEST!

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! I came in to deposit a fairly large check and they refused to do so until they verified the funds. I waited for about 10 minutes while the lady that was supposed to be working on this helped someone else.. seriously?! And when i came back up to her when she finished helping someone else to see if there was anything I could do to help, she gave me this look like "why are you talking to me." So I asked to speak with the manager who told me that she could not deposit the check because I didn't have enough money in my account to make it "good." Really? I even told them I didn't need the money right away and if they needed to put a hold on my account until it went through that was fine, but they still said NO. I have deposited similar checks into my PNC account for years without any issues. These people made me feel like i was some sort of criminal that forged the check or something. I will be closing my account. You do not treat customers, especially those about to put a lot of money into your bank like this.

Lacking is customer service skills. Employees standing around while customers wait entirely way too long because only one teller is working. And they take too much time to come up with solutions to problems and keep their customers waiting. Unacceptable.
