No one goes to a ski resort in NC expecting it to be like the resorts out West. We Southerners just have to accept the fact that our mountains and climate are what they are: decent at best.I skied the Wolf several years ago when my son was a beginner. It must have been a good season bc it was cold, snowy, and white everywhere, and my memories of the Wolf were very positive. This time, well, I need to split my review. This 2022-23 season has been warm so there's been hardly any snow, to no fault of anyone of course, and I'm sure Wolf like every other resort made snow whenever they could. We skied here in late Feb '23 and literally skied the last two days of the season. Only one ski lift and two slopes open. Again, no fault of Wolf. The issue I had really was that everything is just old and dilapidated, from the chairlifts to the lodge to the ski rentals. The chairlifts literally have wood slats with a thin black plastic cover on them with zero cushion. Ouch! The lodge is just old, sad, dilapidated, and in need of repairs everywhere. And then my ski rentals...oof. The boots were so old that the tops of both boots were all ragged and torn. I looked for ten minutes to find two matching poles that were the same length and not broken or missing the little plastic basket at the bottom. Staff were generally nice and had no issues. In the end, every resort is good for something. The Wolf is fine for beginners or those with some experience who just want to hone their skills and get some practice. Trips out West are wicked expensive and most of us can afford to go once every year or two at best. The rest of the time, for us Atlantans, we have to make do. I don't think I'll return to the Wolf unless I hear they've made some significant investment and renovations in both facilities and rentals. Next time I'll go to Appalachian Ski Mtn, where I really had a great experience. It's further up in the mountains with colder weather and generally just more snow. Just don't...don't go on a weekend or holiday and expect to enjoy yourself along with rest of Metro Atlanta on a small mountain. Play hooky at work and pull the kids out of school and ski during the week.

I've tried calling several times It's now 10:00 a.m. No recording to tell you any general information on skiing and nobody answering their phone. I hope this isnt a sign of decline from new ownership. But how do you not give people ski information or even have somebody answering the phone when it's clearly cold enough right now to make snow???

Absolute trash. We did not know that the slopes were closed until we took the trek out there, which was almost 2 hours round trip. I booked this trip a month ago as a surprise birthday gift for my partner, and we were both very excited to go once the day came. There was no communication and nothing on the website saying the slopes were closed. I even tried calling but it kept ringing and ringing. I get that this happens because of weather, but it is common courtesy to let the people who booked tickets know that you are closed. We were very disappointed and will be trying a different ski slope next trip. Thanks for nothing!

The experience was great until I was leaving and saw this sign. Not sure why they would go out of their way to purposely try to offend anyone that may be on the other side of the political spectrum but I think they should put this sign on the opposite side of this door as to let newcomers know where they stand on the political spectrum before patrons give them their money. Since they’re so proud of it. I found the sign to be very uncalled for and such a slap in the face to anyone that enjoyed themselves only to be left with this patronizing taste in their mouth. Putting the sign on the opposite side of the door would give patrons the freedom of choice as to whether or not they would like to spend their hard earned American dollars at such an establishment.

I would hang out here anytime of year because the staff are all so nice and fun to be around. We had a wonderful time snowboarding and a great experience with renting equipment.

Great ski resort for the whole family. Leassons available onsite with friendly knowledgeable staff. Plenty of lockers to leave your stuff while enjoying the slopes. Great little food store with friendly staff and good frensh fries and pizza. Two floors lodge, with fireplaces on the cold winter.

If you are looking for a fun place other than skiing. Check out Wolf ridge tubing down the Rd at 3461 puncheon rd. Not only will you have a fun time but a very hospitable visit. The man Tim that works there was very informational with the area and helped our little girl so much when her feet got too cold. please visit if you want some fun but not really ready to ski. This place would be recommended if you have young kids.

Went at the end of January. They had the snow blowers running the ENTIRE time. It was already in the 20-30 degree range and this made it to where a sheet of ice covered your clothes and blinded you on the way down. Adding to this the staff were carless (my friend fell down getting of the ski lift and the guy in the shed was on his phone and didn’t stop the ski lift. Others started getting off around him). I have been skiing for 6 years and I have never had such an awful experience!

Cute little ski resort with very friendly staff. This was our first time every skiing and we had a great time. Out instructor really helped and by the end we were all doing great on the bunny slopes. I do wish there was a slope between the bunny and the high ski slope. But overall we all had a great time and we loved that it wasn't very busy.
