I was nervous to take my car there. Always had a private mechanic. This was the best choice I could have made. Very professional, excellent service. I assume the man who did my intake was the owner. He was so courteous and sweet. Explained everything to me to where I could easily understand. I was very happy with my repair and the price. I feel that this place has a lot of integrity. I will be back and recommend them highly.

I had a very pleasant experience with Jimmy and his team. Jimmy’s Auto Service was the only shop to give me a call back with a quote within a reasonable amount of time. Jimmy was very courteous over the phone and took the time to call and let me know that they were going to get started. Jimmy also cares enough to ask for an update on your vehicle’s condition the next day to ensure that everything is running good. I look forward to having more work done by Jimmy’s Auto Service in the future.

After a long night drive from Lake Wylie, SC, to Charleston, my 16-year-old daughter and I were exhausted and ready to settle in. Just before reaching our hotel, my Volvo started having issues. As soon as I parked, warning lights came on, and my heart sank. My daughter had plans to meet her potential roommate and family for brunch the next day, so getting my car fixed quickly was crucial.
The next morning, I started calling around, only to find that most repair shops were either closed or wouldn’t open until 9 AM. Volvo’s service department couldn’t help until Monday, but with a packed weekend ahead, that wasn’t an option. I decided to take a chance and call Jimmy’s Auto Shop, even though they weren’t scheduled to open yet. To my surprise, Mr. Jimmy answered at 8:05 AM and told me to bring the car in immediately. He even assured me that if I broke down on the way, he would come get me himself—now that’s service!
Once I arrived, Mr. Jimmy, his wife, and their team were incredibly welcoming and accommodating. Mr. Jimmy got to work right away, fully understanding how important it was for me to have my car that weekend. At first, he suspected a serious engine issue, which was alarming. But after performing a full diagnostic test, he found that a bolt had come off the intake valve, preventing gas from getting to the engine and the exhaust from releasing properly. Thankfully, he was able to secure the needed part from Volvo and assured me he could have my car up and running in no time.
While Mr. Jimmy and his team worked diligently, my daughter and I caught an Uber to meet her potential roommate and their family for brunch. We had an amazing brunch at Basic Kitchen, which I highly recommend to anyone visiting Charleston.
By the time we returned, Mr. Jimmy had my Volvo running like new. The level of care, honesty, and efficiency he provided was beyond exceptional. He didn’t just fix my car—he gave me peace of mind. But what truly impressed me the most was what happened after. On Monday morning, Mr. Jimmy personally called to check if we had made it home safely and if the car was still running well. That level of customer care is rare.
