What happened to all the cashiers. There are now only self service cash registers. Seems like it is better to order online and get it shipped to my house.I went to get a custom frame today. The guy working there was able to make the size but put it in a box. I asked him to add it to my picture but helps words were “then I will have to charge you another $25.” That is crazy!!

Honestly, I don't stop by this store as much as I should. Nearly the entire left wall after walking in is full of cool crafts and experiments to do with your kids. Stuff that I'd pick up and do on my own if I didn't have kids. Grabbed a few new paint brushes and graphite pencils. Didn't plan to, but found a few little clearance items I couldn't not get.

Disappointing. The quality of service has declined and availability of staff to assist is minimal. I had numerous works of art framed there and the same for purchases of supplies. Recently, I brought in a picture frame that was never used, however, the glue that held the backing dried and consequently the backing dislodged. The manager declined to return because it was purchased a few years back. However, I have another identical frame that I purchased at the same time as the other. It remains in good condition. I was told to apply glue to it. When what typos glue would satisfactorily hold, both the manager and store clerk could not declaratively state what type of glue would do the trick. You think they would've have the framing unit to attend to the problem by repairing it with the appropriate glue. I guess that was too much of a burden for them.Recent managers at this location have appeared to be ineffectual and less than what the leadership would require for such a reputable enterprise. It would taken them maybe 5 to 15 minutes to remedy the situation. The fact of the matter is the frame was defective and a remedy as I proposed would have likely resolved the matter and kept a good customer happy. It was apparent to me that there was no sense of service in that location in Matthews.

This Michaels is the best around Charlotte. It's always organized, clean, and has overstock available which anyone who has an art business understands is appreciated. I love the layout of the building and how open it feels. Others feel cramped compared to this location. They have self check out now, which makes the line a little slower but it's worth it for the art goods and the location of the store being so close to everything.

Store itself was clean and organized. Staff was not friendly at all. My kids and I were looking at Halloween decor. I guess we were in a female worker's way since she leaned over my sons shoulder and started shelving merchandise. She seemed very annoyed we were in the aisle. So we moved to a different one. A male employee picked up a pillow my son accidentally put on a shelf and started walking away with it. I had to call him 2x to tell.him it was something we were buying. No I'm sorry, nothing just hands it back to my son. He continues to hover in the aisle we are in and starts picking up a broken decoration No smile, No may I help you. Nothing. I then decided to look for crochet kits and asked a young woman. She told me where e to find them and was ok compared to the 1st 2 workers. The attitude of people working there is awful. Esp towards kids. I get it kids cab be messy. But I felt like they were annoyed we were there. We spent over $100 on Halloween stuff which was rhe whole reason we came. No one smiles, says hi or can I help you at all here. If you have kids they stare and hover

So this Michael's has gone almost full self-checkout. There was a young lady there to assist, kind of like Walmart. Self checkout is fine when I choose to do it, but when it's the only option, that really bothers me.

Love the self checkout at this store. It makes shopping here so much easier. It's so quick and easy to use. You can even scan your coupons and you get a coupon for 20% off your next shopping trip. So don't lose it! Bags are providing next to the machine if you need them.

I took a canvas to be custom-framed three weeks ago. It was finished within the time frame I was told. Beautiful job, excellent quality. I will definitely be using them again.

This michaels is usually very in stock with new stuff and very clean. They just got all new shelf checkouts that are really cool!
