About Lumbee Tribe Cultural Center
The Lumbee Tribe Cultural Center is a vibrant community space that hosts a variety of events and activities. Throughout the year, visitors can enjoy the outdoor Pow Wow, a lively event featuring traditional Lumbee dances, songs, and vendors selling jewelry, art, food, and T-shirts. The Pow Wow is highly recommended for those interested in experiencing Lumbee culture. The center also offers a large play area, traditional gardening, and beautiful grounds including a lake, recently renovated pool, and fishing spots, all free to visit, with some charges during special events. Visitors can enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking, walking the dog, and birdwatching along a mile-long lake path, with opportunities to see turtles, waterfowl, and other birds. The area is perfect for relaxing and connecting with nature. Though still developing, the center has received funding to create a traditional Lumbee Indigenous Nation Village in the future. Overall, the Lumbee Tribe Cultural Center provides a welcoming environment for cultural experiences, outdoor fun, and nature.

I attended the Lumbee PowWow here. This is an outdoor event that is held yearly. Natuve Lumbees presented cultural dances and songs. There were various vendors selling jewelry, t shirts, art, food, and many other items. If you have never been to a pow wow, put this one on your calendar for next year.

It was Beautiful out there and So much to do for The Church Group. There was Basketball, horse shoes, corn hole, volley ball, and a play area for the Kids. There were picnic tables under shelter so when we got a small shower we stayed dry.
