Mayo River State Park offers a well maintained setting with clean bathrooms and clean restrooms available for public use. Visitors enjoy the Loop and Fox trails, easy trail options, and a nice walk that is manageable for preschoolers to seniors. Signs providing details show the historical significance, and there are plans for expansion. The park features waterfalls, two ponds for fishing only, camping, and picnic tables and grills that are very clean. Dogs on leashes are welcome. Though walkways can be cluttered with leaves and the Google address may not lead to the waterfall area, the overall experience is beautiful, lovely, scenic, and peaceful. A great time for families.
Very nice well maintained park with lots of hiking trails and lake fishing, good facilities.

We walked the trail at the Deshazo Mill Access. The waterfall is a short walk from the parking lot but the trail continues alongside the river. We spotted a small cave off the side of the trail, lots of wildlife, and plenty of places that were shallow enough to walk out into the river. Very peaceful and beautiful place... read full comment

Great park. Few different access points. We drove to the waterfall near the Virginia border but also the main entrance. Some nice trails. A lake to walk around. Easy for kids. Nothing major but definitely worth a visit. Had nice bathrooms and a big shelter to bring a lunch or just sit under.
