I first called on 4/19. I was assured someone would call back in 5-7 days to resolve my issue. I never received a call. I called back today—12 days later. The agent I spoke with like the first one I spoke with on the 19th is not empowered to resolve my issue and I am stuck waiting for a callback. Rest assured until my issue is resolved I will not pay any invoice currently due.

I hope that Amerigas' despicable, predatory practices on thousands of vulnerable customers one day come home to roost.

When we needed emergency gas for the greenhouse, AmeriGas came through. Since then, the delivery schedule has been adjusted for our needs without further intervention.

Driver refilled while he was in the area and called the order in for me saving me time and frustration from doing it myself and then waiting for the truck again. Great guy!

The timeliness of the delivery and the care of my drive and yard even though the ground was very wet. Couldn’t even tell they had been there.

Not having a local office makes the Amerigas service very poor. Trying to get information from their telephone reps was an awful experience. After being disconnected twice I finally got most of the info I asked for. What should have taken 10 minutes in an office took over an hour of frustration on the phone. After our local propane company was taken over by Amerigas, our fees have gone up and up. We are now charged a tank rental of over $200/year for a tank we've been using over 30 years (there was never a rental fee with our original company for that same tank). You would think we've paid for it many times over. I made sure we would buy the minimum amount of gas required to not be charged the rental this year but they increased the minimum to way more than I would ever need in a year. It will cost at least $200 to have the tank size downgraded. Of course that does not include the cost of digging up the old one and burying the new one. Why wouldn't they want fewer trips to someone's home each year and save driving time and transport fuel? I am looking for other options for propane and thinking of converting to electric for all of our appliances. I'm pretty sure it will be cheaper in the long run.

Being disabled it was so nice to have your propane driver listen to my concerns and answer the questions that I had that made it very easy for me to understand. Thank you!

Two updates at the bottom of the original post: I started researching what needed to be done to run a propane line for a new dual fuel range from an existing tank in July 2021. I was told by Ben, the CSR, that the billing would be in two parts (interior and exterior work) and would run approximately $600 for each visit plus parts. In October, I called to schedule a site visit and at that visit, the service tech told me that Amerigas no longer does interior work. I would have to pay a plumber to do work in the house. I was told that the Amerigas line should run across the driveway to the side of the house, separately from the existing line. Amerigas also told me that this line needed to be separate from the existing line because the pipe was too small. I was also told that the plumber should do their work first, and that Amerigas would tie into what they did. I hired the plumber the following week. The plumber's work was inspected and passed. I called Amerigas to come back. Weeks go by. At the end of November I'm told by Amerigas, wrongly, that the plumbing work had not been approved by the inspector. I sent the inspection report copy. Now I'm finally on the Amerigas schedule. After several cancellations or no shows, the technician shows up and says the job is a 2 person job and he would have to come back. In the meantime, 811 shows up and flags the various lines. Two Amerigas people come back next, but are unhappy because there are internet, electricity, and phone lines that run across the driveway. They need to also locate the propane line. But.... the line locator tool was not on the truck. They had to come back. Next time the locator tool is brought along, but isn't working very well. They start digging with shovels. Now there is mud all over the driveway and the flower bed is dug up. Now they decide that they should have just tied into the existing line that goes under the house, and there is no problem with the pipe size. And....this realization made most of the $1500 that I paid to the plumber unnecessary. I'm too stunned to be angry. Now I'm told that Amerigas will run the line to where the plumber can tie in and the plumber should remove the pipe to the exterior of the house. This means that the hole in the side of my house was unnecessary too, and has to be patched. I double check with the plumber and we seem to have a plan. Amerigas shows up unannounced after Christmas and does the work, and it passes inspection. The plumber comes back and ties in. At this point, we are in late January. Amerigas comes back the next day and we actually have propane running and the stove is operational.I have called the billing department because I believe that the $1500 billing from the plumber should be partially credited to me. Approximately $1,000 could have been avoided had proper assessment been made by Amerigas at the beginning. A proper assessment could have also saved countless hours by the Amerigas technicians. I have a case in process with my complaint, which was filed on Feb 7, 2022. I was told I could call back on Feb 11 for an update. Today's update had no new information, and the CSR gave me no reason to hope for resolution. I am now told to call back on Feb 16. Wish me luck.Update: I have been contacted by the customer support office and was told that the local office was given a chance to respond to me, and that I should contact the customer support office after February 28 if I did not get any resolution. I wrote again to the customer support office on Friday evening, March 4, because I have still not heard a word from anyone in the local Mebane NC office about my complaint.Update: March 10. The Mebane NC office never responded directly, but working through the customer support area that I was connected with after writing the original review was successful. My complaint has been resolved. It took a long time, but the company followed through, finally.

Amerigas does a great job. The driver is very knowlegeable and friendly and they keep up with the deliveries - we have never run out of propane. Also, the billing system is simple and easy to figure out.

I have a propane tank buried in my front yard which is no longer in use because the previous owners switched over to natural gas. I have contacted AmeriGas and twice scheduled removal of this tank and they never showed for the appointments. I called them for a third appointment and they told me they would not remove the tank which has 6% propane in it and they own it. I am very concerned this is going to be in environmental issue as the tank corrodes and contaminates the area. They remove unused tanks from previous customers all the time but are refusing to remove our tank.

Do Not Use this Propane Company!!! I have been stuck with them for 2 years now since I built my house and had their tank buried in my yard. They have an automatic delivery service that is supposed to forecast when you will run out. This service is completely inept. My tank has run out 3 times in 2 years. This time I have been waiting 5 days and counting for them to fill my tank. I call every day, and they lie to me saying the delivery is on its way. I do not have hot water. I cannot cook. I am a teacher. I need the ability to bathe and cook food. I am at their mercy as to when they feel like stopping by with the propane. I repeat, this is the WORST customer experience I have had with any company in my lifetime!!!

Paid $974 on Jan 11. Still no delivery of propane and today is Jan 27. Multiple phone calls to the "call center" and was told repeatedly delivery would occur by 1/25/2021. Still no delivery and we are out of gas. Trying to get through to the call center expect a wait time of at least 15-20 minutes on hold. I have asked to speak to a supervisor multiple times; was told by one person "they do not talk to customers". REALLY??? I was transferred to a "supervisor line" by a representative yesterday and after 40 minutes I just hung up. This is just terrible customer service! If I could rate them "0" stars, I would do so without hesitancy.
