My husband and I stayed here the last weekend in May because we were visiting friends who live nearby. What a special place it is! The owners were quick to respond to my texted questions and Jack, the groundskeeper, was so warm and helpful. The cabin was wonderful! It was immaculately clean and generously stocked with everything a family could want for a memorable stay! The bed linens and towels were of nice quality, too. There were s’mores ingredients, bubbles, etc., and even some basic cooking condiments. I could tell that much thought was put into every detail! When I realized I’d forgotten coffee creamer, I was thrilled to discover some in the kitchen cabinet! We also loved that we could bring our beloved dog with us. All our kids are grown now, but we would have loved to have a place like this to bring them to when they were young.

We were in the last tiny cabin and it was beautiful and VERY clean, but we had no table to eat at, or sit at or grill outside to cook on. When we tried to use the toaster oven inside, it would trip the power to the whole cabin, so we would have to go outside and flip it back on. I ended up throwing all of our food that we were trying to cook in the trash. There was a big pile of gravel in front of our cabin in place of the table and grill which is understandable with them adding more, but there was plenty of room for a grill and a table to sit at and enjoy nature. We were the only cabin without them and were very disappointed. Also, If you have any kind of disability with mobility issues, do not book if you want to walk the property and see the animals. It's a beautiful place but EVERYTHING is on a hill and fenced in and drive a truck or SUV! I was very disappointed.Walkability: If you have disabilities that involve mobility DO NOT BOOK! Everything is on a hill along with the animals.

Found exactly what I was looking for. I had card and location issue, in which Heather was there to help on both issues. She informed me I would meet Brian and April who were great hosts who helped me find my way as well as introduced to the farm animals. There is everything from a simple time for seclusion to option for group events due the variety of multiple locations furnished we all your needs. Again...I had a great experience and can't wait till next time and possibly try some archery while im there.Rooms: Did enjoy how well kept and cozy things were that also included utensils and utilities to prepare an assortment of dishes.Nearby activities: Along with the farm life and archery there is the barn itself as well as multiple fire pits with provided firewood ? and yet still more to come.Safety: Though going through improvements there are still measures in place for both your safety and the animals as well.Walkability: There is an availability to not only stroll by the farm animals but also archery and group event locations as well that are not too far off.

Staying at The Farmstead was sweet in so many ways. Both my toddlers have not stopped saying “tiny home” since we left. Not only did the tiny home have everything we need for cooking, but there were farm-fresh eggs on the counter when we arrived. You could easily see that everything was thought of. Each detail is accounted for! We took a trip out during the winter and we had such a great time connecting and resting. I can’t wait to see what it will be like in the summer with the kayaks, etc. Thank you Farmstead. We love y’all!

Everything was just like the pictures and MORE!Most unique camping experience in tiny cabins! 8 individually themed units plus the barn with animals, chicken coup, fishing, axe throwing, camping, hiking trail all in one place. Sitting out on the front deck in the evening with the creek running by was amazing. grill, Kitchen utensils provided to be able to cook, refrigerator and washer/dryer! Perfect getaway in nature! Every unit has a bathroom in it. The car parking is in front of your cabin which is nice.I stayed here with my family for a weekend. Very comfortable, clean and spacious. Darin our host was very informative about the amenities and as well super accommodating. The perfect private getaway. We will definitely visit again!! Thank you

Such a unique lodging experience. It’s so cool to get to stay in a well-designed, super-clean tiny home, on a working farm. And it’s so convenient to Lake Lure, Chimney Rock, Asheville and the Tryon Equestrian Center. Tons of fun activities right on property including archery, axe throwing, interacting with the animals, learning about farming, fire pits and more. This is a true getaway from the hustle and bustle of the everyday.

This was our second time staying. Great place to disconnect from the stress of our busy world. Learned some cool things about farm life. Really connected with the earth. Got to experience camping but still have the convenience of a bed, bathroom, and kitchen! Definitely my kind of place! And the shops at chimney rock are great!

We had a wonderful experience on the farm! The owners and camp hosts were all very nice and welcoming and easy to coordinate with. The property was gorgeous, peaceful, and relaxing. We enjoyed the farm animals and having our own campfire! The cabin was nicely decorated and cozy! Highly recommend for a unique glamping experience

Farmstead at Mill Spring is a gorgeous getaway from the hustle and bustle of busy living. The cabins are rustic and charming, you're surrounded by beautiful nature, and the animals are such a fun addition. We look forward to getting back up there with our whole family, unplugging, and relaxing to the sound of the great outdoors!

My family and I spent a couple of days at the Farmstead and loved it. Loved watching my little sister have so much fun experiencing the farm life in the mountains. Everything from feeding the animals (feed was included), to picking fresh veggies, to building a fire and living in a tiny house made for an unforgettable experience. Thanks Farmstead for a great weekend, we’ll see you soon.

Thank you Farmstead for such a wonderful weekend spent with my family. Our daughter loved feeding the animals and the s’mores night out. We loved how clean and nicely decorated the cabins were. We explored the fields, went on a hike and checked out the nearby lake Lure. It was nice to get away from Charlotte and connect with nature. We’re already planning on a redo next year.

My family enjoyed the trip to Farmstead at Mill Spring. My two young boys had a lot of fun walking the trails, visiting the animals on location, and was able to do outdoor activities together that they normally are not able to do. My wife and I were able to talk until the sun came up. The outing allowed us to find new things about each other. The tiny home was a new experience for me. I enjoyed it! The beds were comfortable and calming knowing everyone was safe. The kitchen was very spacious to move around to prepare meals. It was also fun to be close together while eating our meals as a family. The tiny home experience was a great place to become closer as a family because we removed technology to find ways to play games, talk, and cuddle as a family. We all enjoyed our trip!

If you are looking for a quiet, peaceful, and safe place to take your family for a mountain vacation, the Farmstead at Mill Spring is the place to go. Lake Lure is relatively close to the Charlotte Metro area and has a vast selection of activities and restaurants available without having to drive all the way to the Smokies. Chimney Rock is one of my favorite parks in North Carolina, with good walking trails and a historical museum and gift shop available to the public. Be sure to walk through the Lake Lure downtown area and hit the shops. Very unique. Darin and Heather are nice people and easy to work with when booking your reservation. Be sure to tell them Michael sent you to get a preferred customer discount! Enjoy your stay!

The Farmstead is an experience unlike any other. We were able to unplug for a weekend and enjoy the beauty this place has to offer. Come up here with all the kids or just by yourself and escape the city. Service is amazing! Cant wait to book our next trip up :)

The absolute best weekend to disconnect and experience Farm life. The Tiny House (Light and Lofty) was absolutely ? what was needed. Lake Lure has always been special to me, however visiting Farmstead especially with a Toddler was beyond what I expected. The hosts bring you fresh eggs, you can experience the Secret Garden within a couple of miles!! 10/10 would absolutely come back anytime!!
