This is a great spot to allow your dog off the leash! While my niece and her Catahoula Cillian visited the area, we regularly visited this comfortable, well-maintained, and friendly dog park. There is a small dog area separate from the larger dogs. The pet owners are very welcoming, and seem to have made a community amongst themselves. All is well if you are sure to clean up after your critter!

Nice little area for a family gathering, or if you have kids. Not a lot of Trail or exploration area if you have dogs and want to exercise them. Short Trail maybe half a mile, but a nice glimpse of the river.Playground: Yes there are some fun looking play structuresRestrooms: I did not see any restrooms, I'm sure in the library when it is open.Dog-friendliness: It is dog friendly, asphalt path maybe half a mile Loop, on leash only. There is a dog park there as well.Picnic area: There was one large shelter with a number of picnic tables, and if you picnic tables down by the river.

Nice park kept clean. Only thing I've noticed is that if you don't want to be shunned don't talk about the development of the breweries in Mills River. Seeing how this is the Bible belt once you start talking to people about how much you like the fact that Mills River is finally progressing out of the stone age. Also, stating that you enjoy the fine brew they have to offer you will likely get a cold shoulder. Mainly the Baptist denomination on this one...

What a great idea to put an entire park next to a library! Kids can play with kids. Parents can socialize with each other. And, it has baby/kid swings, a covered playground, walking trails, bathrooms, basketball courts, tennis courts, soccer field, and baseball field.

Love the dog park but!I just got yelled at by the parks department not to throw the ball at Mills River Dog park, said it’s tearing up the grass. The grounds maintenance man is on a power trip.Maybe they should put up signs saying no ball throwing or he could sit down there patrolling to make sure nobody is having any fun.

We came to go birding and unfortunately we didn’t see that many birds. The park is very quiet and not at all crowded. It’s also well maintained. We saw a few species but not that many.

This is a very amazing Park as far as public parks go. It's always clean. The Grass is always cut. Restrooms always kept in order. Not to mention the small river that runs off to the side has several access points, as well as a trail that goes next to it you can follow. Farther down the river it gets pretty wide, but very shallow. There's also a lot of river rocks, great for skipping or building. It's a very nice spot.Dog-friendliness: As long as they stay on the leash as far as I know. I'm not sure if you are allowed to take them off. I know a lot of people do. However there is a ton of room very long track to run around along with the trail that goes next to the river it's a great place if you're trying to jog with your animal there also seems baseball field areas that I believe you can close the fence to and play fetch or whatever. I've never seen anybody bring a dog that doesn't play well with other dogs I'm sure it happens and has happened. However with the amount of times I've been there I've never seen it. Just to give that some context I've lived in this area my entire life. I'm nearing forty, and I grew up going to the playgrounds and Parks here. Hope you have a great time if you ever go check it out.

The park is lovely, kids area, dog park, tennis and pickleball courts, library walking area, open play area and covered picnic facilities. My only complaint is that the pickleball nets are HORRIBLE.

A great park to take your kids. Glad to see new things being added to it. A short walk to the river. Hopefully one day a pool will be an addition.Dog-friendliness: Dog park and kids playground are separate which is nice if you don't have a dog.Picnic area: Covered picnic tables and clean too.

I love this place biking and walking. Great playground. Peaceful water experience. They need to open the restrooms next to the river area

Really nice facilities there. The picnic shelter was perfect for our church cookout. The maintenance man is super and helped us with everything we needed. Lots of places to walk your dog and for kids to play.
