We have been banking with aquesta for YEARS. This past week we had a private issue that caused our direct deposit payments to be late, causing our account to go negative over 3 items that came out but aquesta RETURNED, THEY DID NOT PAY THE MERCHANT but aquesta STILL charged us over $90 in overdraft fees, again for items they didnt even pay for. Of course I was unhappy and called the bank, speaking with SUSAN MILLER did not make me ANY happier, she was totally beyond rude so was her voicemail she left my fiance. After years of being loyal customers we felt robbed and treated HORRIBLY for that we WILL be switching and will never recommend aquesta ever again.

I actually don’t bank with this bank, but previously considered banking with this bank as it is listed as a preferred institution for military and veterans. We were here just to complete a transaction for a car purchase from one of their customers. From the moment we stepped in to the pre lobby of the bank to enter the lobby we were labeled. We were the only African Americans in this branch, and dude to this covid they were only allowing 5 people in the bank at a time(no problem). As we waited outside we noticed the branch manager(whom we did not know her position at the time) was having a conversation with other customers in the lobby. No problem we “assumed” they were conducting business! So we waited for 20 minutes, and then as we approached again their conversation ceased. So then from the moment we stepped in we were labeled again! We presented the check from our federal credit union, and the first thing stated was “this is not a check and it does appear to be a real check”, and then the branch manager stated “she did not like the look of the check”! We then offered our credit unions number for her to call and verify with Navy Federal Credit Union numerous times. She finally went in her office to call as we waited in the lobby with their customer “seller”. We waited as she continued to “verify” the check, and continually peaking over computer to view us. She came out and stated IT VERIFIED, but I’m not comfortable with cashing this check it has to many endorsement restrictions, and I don’t like the look of that check. She then stated is not a check it’s a promissory note....., she needs a name of supervisor or someone so she can record on check. So we then called our credit union ourselves, and they again VERIFIED check and gave her a name to record. She then told their customer”seller” that it’s up to him, but she wouldn’t accept the check, and stated “I got you!” We were siting in a square the 4 of us violating all social distancing policy they had enforced. I tried to hand her my phone so she could speak with supervisor at our credit union, and she stated “no I don’t want to touch your phone. I’m practicing social distance with this covid thing going on(but we were seated less than 2 feet away). Our credit union even stated we may need step away from her, because she as well felt the discrimination against us as well. The 15 year veteran branch manager that “had her” customer as she stated earlier really did not have her customer as she stated. She conducted the transaction previous to us arriving with only the seller, notarizing the title for the seller on the back of the title without a buyers presence. This type of transaction requires two parties to transfer a title. But she stated “I got you ...”seems pretty inexperienced behaviors to me.We left and took the check to another apuesta bank, and explained what we were trying to do, and they stated the process(totally different from statements), and offered to cash it there, but the seller was no longer with us. This proved what we felt that were racially profiled and discriminated, based on Susan’s personal opinion against African Americans and not based on company policy! It’s very sad that still in 2020 we as African Americans are still being discriminated against based on the color of our skin, and especially with a financial institutions top tier representative as a branch manager. Coincidentally we just recently opened a business in this area, and Aquesta Bank WAS one of our first choices for business banking.
