Unfortunately, Mooresvillle has outgrown our local YMCA. Most times a full court is taken by pickleball/volleyball/weight lifting classes, leaving only one available court. My son/I came to play basketball but were kicked off the only available court due to a full court game going on. This isn’t the first time & I’m sure will not be the last.

I've been a member on and off for a few years. I've worked out at quite a few Y's in the area including the Denver, Salisbury, China Grove, and University area locations. Lowe's is a very complete Y...except for one thing. The Men's Locker room is way too small for the size and popularity of this location. There should at least be a 2nd bench in there instead of a couple of chairs. If it weren't for the locker room I would have rated it 5 stars.

Visiting my parents thought this gym was amazing! Only $50 for whole week and I enjoyed working out every day then taking a sauna / steam!

Since they had enough room to accommodate the farmers market, they really need to build another gymnasium. They deleted the racquetball space with a rehab center, and now pickleball has completely overtaken the gymnasium. My 12 year old kid has basically been shuffled off the gymnasium due to lack of space for pickleball and sports events. The population of Mooresville has doubled since the YMCA was built. Time to use that 30% dues hike over the same period to accommodate.

We didn't see the value in membership, so we let ours lapse. However, I do enjoy the outdoor walking track. Nothing like going over there in the evening and turning 5 or 6 laps around the track to get my steps in.

Summer programs are good. Kinda crowded and the cardio part. Looks like a lot of younger kids are lifting weights wrong.

This is a nice gym. We stopped in from out of state and due to a computer problem we actually worked out for free. Staff at the counter were nice and the gentleman working the gym floor was also cool. We only used the gym, but there's a lot going on at this facility. We will likely join when we move to Mooresville.

The YMCA seriously needs to ventilate the strong Chlorine smell, until then I'm not about to breath all that in.

I’m not really sure why there are all these negative reviews. The place is clean, plenty of exercise equipment options, sauna, steam room, polite staff. Just having access to all this seems very reasonable to me for the cost. Yes sometimes it is crowded with teens. Yes I sometimes have to wait for weights I want to use. Yes the pool seems dedicated primarily to swim teams. Yes I do wish the weekend hours were earlier and later. But I’m thankful to have this in my community.

The staff is very kind, those in the nursery are extra wonderful, great place to get a workout and not worry about my little one!

After loving the gym here for over 10 years, it has now become a completely different place. The weights floor is now completely overrun by teens, way beyond basic capacity of the floor. No bad behavior, that is not my point. Very well behaved. It’s the volume, it’s like several junior and high schools suddenly closed their gyms and are using the Y instead. I love that the Y support the community and families and kids get a lot out of it. It’s just that there are physical limits to how many can be on the gym floor before it’s effectively unusable. They have clearly over sold and are not managing volume.

Also they have an outside track and numerous fields for sports, as well as indoor fitness and group exercise programs. And they are engaged with many programs for the community with after-school care, summer camps, Y-Readers, Swim lessons, Bible Study, and team sports. The staff is knowledgeable, professional, and helpful.

If you’re looking for a place that has a great pool where your kids can play and have fun, this is NOT it. The older, blonde, female life guard is absolutely horrible, constantly making kids of all ages cry. I wish she was the only mean one, but the life guards here have a reputation of making kids cry. I’ve tried to bring this to management’s attention but never any response. The life guards have no idea how to talk to kids and enforce rules while still keeping the environment happy and fun. They constantly have the slides closed. They will randomly close the pool down and won’t send out any notices online or through social media. You have to drive there only to find out there’s a closure notice on the locker room doors. The pool temp is often cold due to the heaters constantly breaking, they don’t notify you of this either. For $117 a month, they need to get it together. I highly recommend looking elsewhere if your main focus is the pool experience.

My husband and I went with intentions of joining using our silver sneakers medicare plan. We learned that this Y does not participate since they are a part of the greater Charlotte system. Most other Ys offer silver sneaker. Just another "big city" ripoff for seniors. Very disappointed.

The facility is clean, the staff has always been very friendly to me and helpful. The water in the warm pool however is still too cold.
