What a pleasant experience I had at this store. The two young men working there were patient, helpful, knowledgeable, polite and fast! They took the time to explain the different types of paints and the benefits of one over the other. I highly recommend buying your paint here! I won’t buy paint from the big box store again.

Whenever I have a DIY home project that requires paint or stain, Sherwin-Williams in Mt. Airy is my first stop. The main reason is their excellent customer service! I went in a few days ago for materials to water seal my gazebo and George was very helpful and knowledgeable and gave me the advice and product I needed. Thanks to George, my gazebo looks great!

I’ve always had a great experience at the Mt. Airy Sherwin Williams store. Everyone there has always been very friendly, very knowledgeable and go above and beyond to serve the customers. If they don’t happen to have what I need (which is rare) they will find it for me at the nearest store.

I always shop at Sherwin for paint products and material. They have the highest quality. Everyone in the store is very professional, extremely friendly, and extremely knowledgeable about all their products. And not just what they have read, they all have real world experience with the products. George knows everything, and can color match perfectly. Actually everyone in there knows everything and can. I always enjoy visiting the store, it is always extremely clean, I am always greeted with a friendly, warm smiles. They have the best coffee in town. We have a large Victorian house and I will always purchase all my paint products from Sherwin.

Yikes... I went in to look at some interior paints for my mom and I've never painted a room before, and it really felt like the blind leading the blind. I had a vague idea of what she wanted (a bright purple color) and when I took two of their color cards up to explain it, the gentleman helping me kept getting the pink and purple confused and he seemed like he just didn't get what I was asking for at all. He then said he would just mix the two colors I was looking at 50/50 and when I asked if that was going to look how I asked he kind of shrugged and so I let him mix it so we had a starting place. When he asked what paint I wanted I was caught a bit off guard because I was trying to explain that the room didn't get much light and how it was used, and he looked at a sheet behind the counter I couldn't see and listed off something at random ( interior super paint) instead of walking back over to the display and walking through the options with me. He didn't really explain why it was the right choice comparatively or anything about the paint. I wish I had been more insistent about him walking me through what I actually needed and what to expect from the paint, but I was honestly so caught off guard by the weird experience and lack of guidance or effort. When he left to mix the paint he didn't warn me how long it would take to mix, if I should wait or come back, or literally say anything so I just wandered around the shop for 15-20 minutes awkwardly. When he brought out the paint it seemed alright but I could tell it would likely look very different on the wall, and when i asked about a return policy just in case as he was ringing me up he brought up for the first time there was no return policy on tinted paints. I was obviously doing buissnes with them for the first time and wasn't at all sold on what he was mixing up, and I really wished he had warned me before mixing the paint. I got it home, and it wasn't really what I wanted, but their paint definitely isn't cheap so I felt like I was kind of stuck with it. I asked a family member later who used to paint homes professionally what I could have done differently because I left feeling very stupid, and they told me I should have never took my buissnes there and that even local professionals didn't like doing buissnes with this location. I loved the idea of doing buissnes with a smaller paint-focused shop over Lowes Hardware, and they seemed to have some good options, but my service experience was so unhelpful I would have been better off going elsewhere.
