We have been going to these folks for more than 2 years. Great place and people. We had to take our 14 year old Jack there today to be euthanized and they were caring and very thoughtful. Allie was especially sweet thru this very tough experience. Thanks to her and Dr Baker for your caring attitudes, it really helps ♥️

This place is any animal’s best friend. Great atmosphere, great staff and ridiculously happy pets. The girls at the front desk? Totally awesome! You just gotta go here. I’m so glad I switched. I feel much more comfortable knowing my babies are in very confident and capable hands.

I can’t recommend Craven Animal Hospital enough, especially if you have exotic babies. Our sweet Hedgie developed an infection from a bulging eye most likely caused by a tumor behind his optical socket. With him being nearly 8 years old we knew this could possibly be the end for him (Domesticated hedgehogs live for about 4-6/7 years). I called Craven Animal Hospital Friday morning from work hoping they worked with exotic pets like Hedgie and they informed me that they do and that they could see see him that day but they only had a 2pm appointment. Unfortunately I work an hour from home so I had to make arrangements to get Hedgie there via family so I could not confirm that appoint in that moment. After getting things arranged I called back and that 2pm appointment had been booked. I explained our situation and they graciously squeezed us in at 3pm! We were informed of the emergency visit price and exam fee upfront before the visit which was great knowing I expected to spend a pretty penny. Dr. Kobrta assessed Hedgie and confirmed the diagnosis I was dreading. Dr. Kobrta spoke with me via my nieces phone and explained her diagnosis and best courses of action; they offered palliative care or putting him down due to the tumors (generally once’s hedgehog start getting tumors they continue too.) My family and I decided to make the difficult decision to end his suffering and Craven Animal hospital could not have made such a hard decision more comfortable for us all. Upon check out we were expecting to pay between $400 and $500 for the exam, emergency visit, and the euthanasia. To our surprise the bill was only for the euthanasia and the evaluation with the vet and her teams condolences for our loss, leaving us to pay a fraction of what we expected (which after a hectic and stressful day was a huge relief especially after the holidays). Dr. Kotrba and her teams compassion, empathy and level of care for our sweet Hedgie and my family in general will forever be appreciated and never be forgotten!

My family has been going here for years and I understand being busy with all the holidays and whatnot. However, I made an appt over 2 weeks ago for a simple nail trim. When I went in for the appt, I was told I didn’t have one. I was told I could wait but there were multiple emergencies so I knew how that would play out. no apology or any other accommodation suggested. anyway, just a friendly reminder to actually book the appt when you tell your clients they’ve successfully made one :)

Unfortunately we had to let our angel go because of a heart disease but the care and compassion this place showed to our Doberman was beyond wonderful. They truly care about our furry friends. Wouldn't go anywhere else

Read their response to every bad review and it's clear what kind of practice they run. Never accept responsibility for anything and always blame the customer. 5 different employees told us they accepted vouchers for spay and neuter. Not one person said only vouchers from craven cover 100%. One lady called us after drop off and said the vouchers do not cover pain meds and wanted to know if we wanted to authorize $40. We did. Clearly she was also under the assumption that the vouchers covered all but the pain medication. Not until we go to pickup our cats were we notified the vouchers were only a small discount and we owed $559. "I'm sorry that you didn't understand our policy". If 5 employees didn't understand the policy how could we? We signed no payment agreement like we typically would have done at any other visit before services. The only response they give is "that's our policy". No responsibility for their screw up.
