Really disappointed in the prices he paid for some early 1900's Morgan Silver Dollars!! After some online research, found he gave us less than half their value.Won't be going back there!!Tom's customer service needs work too!!

I’m surprised to find so many negative reviews for Tom’s here on google! I do agree that the owners won’t run up & accost you upon arrival, but I found them to be kind & helpful when asked. Some of the antiques are expensive, but they are high quality & I believe worth the price. I have found a couple items for what seemed to me to be a good deal & those are what I’ve purchased.

Just came from Toms.. great store! Has a little of everything! A ton of coins. We sold some silver coins and gold to him. Very fair pricing and Tom was super nice to work with! 5 Sars all around. Great owner and his wife. Very personable

Highly recommended….Stopped in several years ago with a bunch of silver Eagle proof coins for sale. I was treated good and the buy price was very fair. I think I’ll stop back by again to purchase a coin this time.

We just happened to walk by Toms today and went into the shop looking for something else… and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! I’ve met some nice antique dealers, but we were treated like friends and we thoroughly enjoyed the dogs. They were personable, kid-friendly and informative. They may also have the largest inventory of coins I’ve ever seen! Tonight, because of our visit, I’m researching coin collecting and I will be checking back. If you like coins and antiques, you must check out Toms in New Bern, NC!

Coins, coins and more coins. If you are starting or a seasoned coin collector this is the store for you! I wandered into their shop out of the blue. Susan and Tom are the nicest persons I have ever met in retail. Tom has over 50 years of knowledge in coins. I was greeted and welcomed in their family owned business. If you are kind and respectful, you will encounter the best customer service and knowledgeable individuals w/ fair coin prices.

I’m only posting this because of a really negative review someone left here. I should have posted sooner but I love this coin shop. The owners were extremely nice to us walking through the door and unlike other shops these owners don’t hover over you or pressure into making any purchases. They’ll gladly show you any coin, collectible, or antique you ask. They were always kind and professional. It’s a family owned local business and walking around I would say their prices are extremely fair. I’ve collected coins for a long time and let me tell you, these prices are on point. They’re willing to look at an entire collection of coins and tell you if you’ve got anything good. Many people over estimate the value of something they have. Just because it’s from the 1800s doesn’t mean it’s automatically worth a thousand dollars. The owners are very knowledgeable and having always been kind and that’s why this is my hands down favorite coin shop.

A couple of years ago I had so much silver to sell. Tom was so very kind and helpful. I wish I had posted this sooner, because I saw negative comments. The store is beautiful and I will be bringing him more businesses!

We always check out antique shops when we are visiting a new town so we stopped at Tom's to see what he had. We had a good idea by the name of the store that antiques would be limited and they were. They had a ton of coins so if you collect clings then this is the place for you. The few antiques we saw were priced for tourist and not serious collectors. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Recommend for all.
