“I probably bit off more than I could chew - I bought a new production boat and had some coordination challenges getting the builder to install the ambitious, state-of-the-art lithium/solar electrical system I knew I wanted. Figured I could just get the minimum, stock system in the new boat, and replace the whole thing after-market. After a long search and several false starts, I finally found these guys -- who could design an entire marine electrical system from scratch, THEN install it. The SE US Victron distributor in Oriental, NC? Who knew? These guys have an encyclopedic knowledge of Victron and other stuff, as well as gadgets like radar, AIS, etc. There's a crackerjack installer, plus a carpentry/fabrication wizard. And that's just the basic stuff. I also wanted a third-party graphic battery monitor installed in the middle of my Victron system. SME told me they'd try, but what I wanted was both unproven and undocumented. They installed it, it made the system behave erratically, and SME obsessed about a fix for weeks, unprovoked by me, until they figured it all out. Most impressive! I'm lucky; I'm spoiled; I'm fortunate to have a major league electrical system on a sandlot-level boat.”
