Rita Dee Alpacas is a friendly alpaca farm that offers private tours where visitors can learn about the alpacas, their lifestyle, and the products made from their luxurious fiber. The walking tour lasts about one hour and includes storytelling and educational information about the herd. Visitors can bring baby carrots to feed the calm and friendly alpacas, which love interacting with guests. The farm emphasizes a caring environment, with well-taken-care-of animals that are gentle and adorable. Guests are encouraged to wear closed-toe shoes that can get muddy or dirty during the tours. The farm also features a store where visitors can buy souvenirs and alpaca apparel. Appointments are easy to schedule, and the farm owner is known for being accommodating and kind. It’s a great place for children and families to enjoy a fun, educational experience with friendly animals. Donations are accepted to support the farm’s pet therapy program, making the visit both enjoyable and meaningful.

I purchased a catnip filled alpaca felt “fish” for my cat from Rita’s stand at Lexington Farmer’s Market and my cat went mad over it - it was instantly her favorite toy. Rita also stocks some lovely knitted items that make great gifts.
