Took a chance on me to help me get a car loan when I was "just" a teacher assistant on low hourly pay. I'll always be grateful to these folks for helping me purchase my car from the good folks at Smart Cars by Wieland Motors, also in Pittsboro, NC.

I went into this branch one afternoon to sit down and speak with a loan officer regarding a loan. I sat down with the loan officer and 2 seconds into the conversation before even asking my name he says “do you have a job” . I was completely shocked! I don’t assume that all conversations with members start off this way and can’t for the life of me figure out why our conversation started this way and can to this day only assume it was because I am black. Immediately after answering that question he says well I don’t have time to enter this loan as I am on my way to lunch. I hadn’t even had the chance to take my purse off my shoulder and sit in the chair well. I have never in life been treated in such a manner especially somewhere that I trust with every dime of money that I have. This was a horrible experience. I called and complained .... the branch manager called me and gave me some sob story and sob apology that absolutely didn’t move me one but honestly. She then asked if I would like for her to enter the loan over the phone ... ummmmm I think not! I had already taken my business elsewhere by then. Sad thing is this is In the mist of coronavirus and it’s kind of difficult to close and open accounts with a new banks. I have had this account with credit union for over 25yrs. It’s just sad period.

Rude customer representatives. Very poor representation for LGFCU member. Fifty-fifty chance they even acknowledge you standing in line even when no one else is in line. They treat you like a thief if you are making a large deposit. Will be withdrawing funds to close all accounts. LGFCU, you are to blame to since you are not providing any oversight of SECU treatment of your customers.
