Horrible place!! Check the car with another mechanic before you buy!! I have broken car that i bought last week. Need engine work, bunch of small things are missed ( wipers, turn signal is blown, i do not think that car will pass state inspection). We bought this car in a rush to go to the long trip with my 3 kids. Thanks God nothing bad happened during the ride. The dealership owner just making fun of my husband. Never in my life i expect something like that. I know you can miss things, but the way they handle it is not right. I hardly ever leave a review. This is something that i wish wont happened with you. Please watch out!!

Long story short, I bought a car from them that started having problems and randomly shutting off three days after purchase (Roughly 300 miles). I know buying a used car is as is, but from what is supposed to be a reputable dealer I expect it to last longer than three days. I contacted the dealer the next day and they recommended taking it to mechanic to check it out and see what we're dealing with. I wanted to trade the car for another. They were not receptive to that idea. I'm sure it would be a difficult process to work out and maybe I was dreaming too big. Slowly over the course of the next few days I became increasingly frustrated with them. I took the car to a mechanic that I trust and was informed there were problems with the engine and it would require a lot of labor and I was looking at a rather large bill. At this point I contacted the dealer and informed them of the situation and was told he would do research and call me back. The next morning, the dealer called and told me that his research showed that it may just need an oil change or a sensor. I was told the car was checked when they brought it in and none of these problems existed at the time. My response to this was not my finest moment. I noted that I had noticed that the car was missing several lug nuts, the oil was low and needed changing, the air filter was clogged, the wiper blades were wore out, and a blinker bulb was blown. This car was never checked over. In my anger, I made a few comments on a few of their Facebook posts. Although I was angry, I commented facts. Merely expressed my opinion and shared my experience for others to see Later that day I had another conversation with the sales manager and we both cooled down and he offered to have the car looked at by another mechanic. I reluctantly agreed and made verbal arrangements to bring the car in the next day. The icing on the cake occurred later that afternoon when a friend informed me that the dealership had responded to my comment. They said that their best response would be two bible verses. I'm not a bible scholar, so I looked the verses up. Proverbs 12:16 Fools show their annoyance at once, but the prudent overlook an insult. I am a fool for being annoyed? They are prudent for not paying attention to what they are selling? My experience was bad. That happens. Being publicly mocked by a business that has wronged you and created financial hardships shouldn't happen. They deleted the comments after a short while and the post where they took my picture and were proud to provide my family with quality car. They have the luxury to delete everything and forget I ever existed. Unfortunately, I have 60 monthly payments staring me in the face to remind me of it for years to come

Bought our Honda from Midgette and decided to opt in to the Family Advantage Plan in lieu of a $2,500 discount. They have decided to not honor their program even though it is a part of our contract with them. Do not trust them!

I traded my 2007 Dodge Ram into Midgette on October 23rd and it is now January 17th and it still has not been paid off yet. They keep giving me one excuse after another. They have sold this truck to The Sykes family from Havelock. This marine probably has no idea that the truck isn't paid for so he wouldn't be able to get the title to it. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THESE PEOPLE. I am getting a lawyer to resolve this!

In the market to buy a jeep and as I was passing by I saw one that looked like what I'm interested in. I turned around to go check it out, and that's when I saw the giant "Lets Go Brandon" sign they have up. I will never do business with a place like this, and by displaying an ignorant and vulgar politically harassing sign like that, they just lost what would probably have been a $20,000 sale.

Went there to buy a car they had in stock. The car wouldn't start. I asked them to get the car to a point that I could test drive it and call me back so I could test it. Didn't get a call. Went back three other times and the car was still sitting in the same place. I was never quoted a price and don't know what happened to the car. I bought one somewhere else. No concern for a customer.

Update: They agreed to give me $650 in the first week of December and I still have NOT received it as of February 23 2021. Also, I recently discovered the 4 wheel drive was not functional either. I bought a truck here november 9th 2020 When I got there the truck was parked put front for me to test drive. I tried turning it on and the battery was dead. The one left at the office was a man named steve who said that a light must have been left on because it was just being driven a little while ago. I believed him and ended up buying that truck. Days later my battery died again and found out that it was a bad battery so I went ahead and bought a new one. THAT problem is on ME for not being more thorough. Friday Novemver 20th (only 11 days after purchasing) I took my truck to get inspected here in VA. The truck QUICKLY failed inspection because the emergency brakes had been removed completely. There was so much rust in that area that it needed a few more repairs just to get the emergency brake put back in making my bill over $1,000. I've contacted midgette auto countless times since friday. They have spoken with the mechanic that made my truck safe to drive again and everything and still nothing has been said or done to right the wrong. A few words from Steve (the man who sold me the truck) were "Valary, I know as much about trucks as you do" and also "Valary, we have cheaper vehicles. You saw that truck and wanted that truck so you got that truck" A few things I'd like to point out: -a vehicle cannot pass NC state inspection without the emergency brake in and working properly -a vehicle cannot pass VA state inspection without the emergency brake in and working properly -the people selling vehicles SHOULD in fact know more about the vehicle they are selling than the person buying the vehicle -Using God in a mission statement on your website is extremely foul if the people who represent your business dont conduct business in a Godly fashion

Would give NO stars if I could. They stole over $10,000 from me. I paid cash for Yukon Denali and got talked into extended warranty. 2 weeks later transmission gave out and the warranty company wanted to put a used transmission with more miles on it then mine, so I had to pay for rebuilt one. Had so many problems with the car but none were covered by warranty. Was with out a car for 6 weeks. Salesman told me warranty would cover rental car for as long as I needed it so rented one for 2 weeks, then found out they only pay up to $150.00 on rentals so had to pay $850.00 out of my pocket (thank GOD I didn't rent one all 6 weeks). I was lied to so many times by the salesman and warranty was a BIG joke. Steve in service overcharged me over and over$750.00 for 4 brake pads.... really? When I finally started calling him out on all the charges he quickly started reducing my costs. Jody would never communicate with me when I tried to tell him about all the many problems I had with the vehicle. Crooked ,wicked ,selfish, heartless sinners . I am warning everyone to not go there because I care about others unlike them. Jody buys flooded out auction cars and then sells them to hardworking locals all the time because his reputation is trash. Whenever his business is mentioned everyone has a bad word to say. Got rid of that lemon in a year and couldn't get any $ for it or no money back from 2 year warranty!!! Please save yourself and don't get burnt like so many that I have talked to... yea small town gossip means you have a reputation and midgette's is as bad as it gets. Hope you are repenting daily for stealing from locals!!!!

I came across this dealership via a vehicle search on Carfax. I found a really nice 2012 Orange Jeep Wrangler. I reached out to inquire about the Jeep and Mike responded back. He was able to answer all my question and we even worked out a price for my trade in (despite there being two different numbers from the dealer). The first quote came from Mike via his internal appraiser and the second quote came from their website via a "value your trade-in" link powered by Edmunds. The difference in price was about $300). When I asked why the difference Mike said "that's a service through Edmonds.com....and the figures are basically the same...300 dollars difference... it says " This is what Edmunds estimates the value of your car to be" ..key words there are "Edmunds estimates" but both figures are basically the same...it may be worth a couple hundred more once we actually see it and drive it." I moved on from this and I wanted a video of the Jeep but since the vehicle was at their other store, Mike transferred the account over to Britney. Britney continued to work with me, answering my additional questions and the transaction then shifted over to Nick the finance person. This is where it all went downhill. On January 17 I was told I would have a video by the end of the day, but nothing showed up. On January 18th, Nick reached out to me and we talked about the Jeep as well as finances and the trade in. Nick said they were putting a new cover on the Jeep since an issue was identified. Nick and I ended the conversation with him transferring me to their credit department so I could apply for a loan. Later that day, I reached out to Nick and asked for an update about the video as well as the loan application. Nick did not respond. On January 22, Britney emailed me to say the Jeep was being detailed and the video should be available by the end of the day or tomorrow as some point. I received no video. On January 24, I noticed that the Jeep was removed from their website and Carfax's website. I emailed Britney to ask for an update. Nick called me but I wasn't able to answer, and he did not leave a voicemail. Nick texted me stating that the new cover is on, but the Jeep was having mechanical issues, which is why it was taken off their website, and wanted to know if there was any other Jeeps on his website that I would be interested in. I called him back and left him a voicemail. I also texted him asking for a call back. On January 28, I texted Nick for an update. Nick responded stating he's been out of the office due to medical reasons and he would get back to me the next day with an update. No update was ever given. On January 30, I texted Nick asking for an update. On January 31, I emailed Britney stating that I have not heard back from Nick and that I still have yet to receive a video of the Jeep. On February 4, Britney emailed me back (she was on vacation) stating she would get with Nick asap. On February 6, Nick called but I wasn't available to answer. Nick then texted me the following - "Yes I do have an update that jeep will not be available for sale. I do have a few more on my website. Please let me know if any of them interest you". My response back - "Nick, please give me a better update than it's not for sale. I spent weeks working with you on a deal that involved a trade in and I was ready to make the drive, but then mysteriously the car isn't available due to first a cover issue, then a mechanical issue. Something feels very fishy and sleazy about this whole thing". Nick then responded telling me that he had issue calling me because it goes straight to voicemail and doesn't ring every time, and the Jeep had a thermostat issue and as they kept diving into it, they found more and more issues. The kicker is this. Nick also states that they found a buyer who would take the Jeep as it, with all the issues. I can't say what the issue is with Nick's phone calls to me, but he never left me a voicemail. Text was working jus

Service department will put you over a barrel with "incidentals" on any repair work. Turned in my mustang for some warranty work that was covered by the 3 month 3K mile warranty. I'm responsible for a 200 dollar deductable. That acceptable. But they did not discuss and other parts that were supposedly "necessary" for completing the work and count them as incidentals. So now I'm going to have to pay for those items without prior agreement as to the cost. This the second vehicle I've bought from them. I will not recommend even buying a gumball from the machine in the lobby at this point. I'm local and don't mind voicing my displeasure about this.

Wow! Wow! Wow! Best Dealership I have ever been to. I purchase an 07 Tacoma from here with 80,000 miles on it. It's been the best Truck I've ever had. The buying process was super fast and super easy. I would recommend everyone who lives locally and a far to check this place out.

The salesman are upstanding, honest, God-fearing men. You can get full service records and a vehicle history report for free on any vehicle on their lot. They are a TrueCar.com certified dealer, so you can always check their 1-price on that website to see how well a deal you're getting. They offer warranties on every vehicle they sell. They want you to know what you're buying and to feel at peace with any decision you make. No sharks here and 50 years worth of serving the OBX community.

UPDATE 6/30/17 After I left this exact same review on Facebook the owner contacted me saying that he would like to address the issues, we spoke, and both decided that I would bring the truck back to get the suspension fixed (replace all the blown shocks on the truck when I bought it) so I dropped it off to them a week ago. I go to pick it up after hours tonight (6/30/17) and I come to find they have installed the front shocks upside down. I contacted the owner, and got yelled at for "being the problem" and the service manager also called me saying the same thing, that I have no idea what I'm talking about. Clearly says on the shock "INSTALL THIS END DOWN" you tell me if I have "no idea" what I'm talking about.
