If you want to feel like you’re being extorted this is the place for you. For a follow up booster for my dog cost me $116. They had my dog for 38 minutes (I timed it on my phone). They charged me $65 for an “office visit and physical exam” even though my dog was there just three weeks before. Then $45 for a booster shot and another $5 for “waste disposal” whatever that means. When asked why I had to pay for for another office visit and physical exam, things the lady behind the counter said “to make sure your dog is healthy enough for the shot”. I.E we need to see if we can charge you more money.

Booked an appointment online and received a confirmation that my appointment was set and ready to go. I called ahead of time to confirm the price estimate for my visit and the clerk informed me that online appointments aren't actually appointments but simply requests (never mind the email that says your appointment is booked). She said the appointment I was supposed to go to today wasn't actually valid, but if I could come in and drop my dog off they'd get around to giving him his vaccines within 3 or so hours. I ended up canceling my "not appointment" because being locked in a cage gives my dog anxiety. If I hadn't called, I would have assumed the appointment confirmation was valid and showed up only to be told I didn't have one. If these "appointments" aren't actually appointments, their website needs to indicate that. They also shouldn't be sending out emails confirming the appointments that don't exist.

As always, this place is great. Chech-in time was right on schedule, and staff was helpful and courteous. The check-up results were expertly explained, and my questions answered completely. I had requested some additional services, and one was not needed. I know they are honest because they informed me of this and removed the charge!! A place you can trust, and to which one can entrust the care and well-being of your pet!

The staff was efficient and very kind. Although the Dr. Was very busy, she took time to provide an update, thoroughly explained things, and answered my questions. I never felt like she didn’t have time for me; her kindness and compassion was greatly appreciated.

I’ve been taking my two girls at banfield for a few years now! Dr Lebron-Ortiz has been taking care of one of my pups after she hadn’t been eating or drinking much and she really saved her life. My girl was in the beginning stage of an Addison’s disease crisis and I had no idea. It’s a very vague disease and can be overlooked easily. We’re able to manage it since it was caught early and I am so thankful!

Banfield has multiple locations to chose from. Once I decided to go to this location I came across a coupon for a free initial check up visit. I was able to schedule my appointment online. The day before the appointment, an employee called and advised me that the appointment was drop off only & asked if I was ok with that. I was further advised that the appointment would take two hours. There was a little wait when I dropped my dog off. The employee that I came into contact with was nice and seemed to like dogs. I was called by the vet, Dr. Lebron Ortiz after the appointment. She was great, knowledgeable, & spoke to me about my dog's visit and her findings. She answered all of my questions and provided additional information that could be useful to me in the future. I was also provided with informational handouts including food and treat options.

What can I say that I already haven't about Banfield? Every vet even human doctor offices have bog downs during rush times, etc... But in the end, this place makes you feel like you're an important customer. As well as they should! Your pet is an important part of your family and the staff at Banfield is there to help you with any questions, concerns or emergencies. Highly suggest their discount subscription program. I thought it was silly some 15 years ago when I met my now wife. It isn't, let me tell you, it saves the day with expensive bills and you always keep up to date on your pet's health. Thanks to Banfield and the incredible staff at this particular location, we've been able to keep our dogs healthy and maybe a little bit less crazy!

I had called in a refill at this location on 11/24/21 and called again the morning of 11/26/21 to see if it was ready as my dog was suffering in pain and not sleeping through the night. I was told that it was still not ready and to give them a couple hours. I waited all day and finally called back at 3:30pm and spoke with Curtis. Curtis told me that I would have to wait another 24-48 hours. I pleaded with him to please help me as I had already been waiting 3 days for the medication and I couldn’t bear to see my dog in pain another day. I asked to at least pick up Dasuquin which is an OTC joint supplement and he told me I could not buy it there without a prescription. (Even tho PetSmart and Chewy.com sell it) He told me there was nothing he could do and that I should take my dog to an emergency vet hospital. I asked if I could pick it up at another location and I was told that I could not. He did not seem to care about how urgent this was or the fact that I had been waiting several days for the medication to begin with. I then called another location down the road (despite being told they couldn’t help me) where they did not hesitate to help me and had my dogs medication refilled within 20 mins of my call!

The Banfield in Wilmington NC is amazing! The staff helped me and was very understanding of my situation with my dog not eating or drinking. They kept me updated and I spoke directly with the doctor.

Simple prescription refill, they turn into a whole drawn out visit because all they want is your money.Wellness plan, yeah ok, criminals, force people into long contracts with horrible care, then end up having to pay for visits anyway.Covid, definitely feel they are taking advantage of people as you drop off your animal for their visit you are forced to leave instead of staying with your furry pal.Visits they say won't be long, so of course you stay and wait in the parking lot. Three hours later sitting in the parking lot, you call and ask how much longer, they say oh they have not been seen yet.Everyone who answers the phone is incompetent and only adds to the frustration. Our pet will never be returning especially after the last phone call trying to simply refill a prescription ointment that is less than a month old from the previous visit. ABSOLUTELY Infuriating!YALL ARE THE WORST!

We had a 1 year old little lab mix named Mabel who was experiencing listlessness and wasn't eating. I called Sunday night when we noticed it and they said they didn't do emergencies--they could see her in the morning. I called in the morning--by then our poor dog couldn't walk. "We can see her at 11--we don't have any openings sooner." Okay fine. In the three hours between talking on the phone and leaving, my poor dog stumbled outside to release her bladder---a pool of blood came out. I mean... a RIVER. We threw her in the car and ran to the vet. The first thing they ask? If we want to renew our Wellness Plan. SERIOUSLY? Right NOW? I said I'd think about it depending what happened, and said they'd call in two hours. Two hours passed by. On the third I called--they said they'd return my call shortly. That never happened. I called on the fourth hour only for them to say, "Oh my goodness--we were just about to call you!" Were you really though? The vet talked to us saying our pet was anemic, jaundiced, and had barely any red blood cells. We explained our poor baby was 100% fine 24 hours ago--she was completely normal. How could this happen with no warning at all? The vet proceeded to sell us on antibiotics that could make her sicker, or transport her to two other places that *might* help and would easily cost us thousands--if they helped at all. So I asked what the heck we could do. "Well we close in an hour and a half--you can take her home and bring her back in the morning and we can try to do fluids." ??????? Take her home... in the state she was in? Not walking, and that sick? We have two young children and this was their family pet--they couldn't see her in that state. I was baffled. I got in the van and by the time we got there she was so much worse (keep in mind closing was now 30 mins away). We started discussing options because she was clearly in horrible shape--she was near death and it was 100% obvious. We made the most gut-wrenching choice to say goodbye--we were bawling. Angry. Sad. Heartbroken. In the middle of our tears the tech pushes her way into the room and asks for payment. I understand protocol, but the callous, heartless, horrible way of going about this NEEDS TO CHANGE. When someone is grieving and about to say goodbye, and the best you can do is ask for a payment card, you have a huge ethics problem. Then, at the end of it all, they offered an autopsy so we could perhaps find answers. BUT WAIT! We'd have to transport our own pet's body to get it! Are you kidding me?We watched our poor Mabel leave this earth, were sobbing uncontrollably (it's now 6:10) , and less than 2 mins later the vet tech comes in and says they're taking her body. "Can you get the door for me?" she asks. "I can't carry her and get it." I was shocked honestly--why is nobody else here to handle this and help? So my mom, who was with me, opened the door for her while she proceeds to nearly drop my lifeless pet on the floor. What happened next is etched in my mind and will be forever. My pup wasn't covered up, and was lifeless and loose. She'd already peed blood at home earlier that day. She carried her, nearly dropped her, and then her bladder released---dropping what looked like a gallon of blood everywhere. Across the floor. On our clothes. I am bawling... breathless...I can't speak. The vet tech barely apologizes and closes the door. We have to waddle to the bathroom covered in our pet's blood to clean up with not a word from anyone else. What did Banfield actually do for us, except give us a bill and provide euthanasia?I have never been more horrified by an experience at a vet/doctor than I was this week, and regardless of whether or not the outcome would have been different elsewhere, they made the experience a million times worse with their lack of compassion, consideration, and unprofessional behavior to our pet and to us. Now we're left dealing with the trauma of having our last memory of
