Don’t rent from this place, he will absolutely screw you on the price when you return the truck. Doesnt tell you up front what things cost. Charged us $25 because the fuel needle was on the 3/4 and not above the 3/4 mark.He also slipped $72 worth of insurance charges when he told me up front it would be $19.99.He also puts a $450 pre authorization on your credit card, so there’s not much you can do when you return the truck and see all his bs fees.Karma got him though. He was backing up one of the trucks as we were leaving and backed straight into another one of his own trucks.

Great experience with Pete at Budget and he came in early to meet me and pass me over a truck. It is a nice truck and clean. Had to extend the rental an additional day and he was very accommodating to just extend without any issues. Surprised to see all the negative comments, however, I can understand that the individual agents do not have the control over the condition of the trucks when they receive them, and unfortunately customers do not return on time without informing them, which has the ripple effect on other customers who have booked a truck.

Rented a cargo van from Pete. He went above and beyond for service and everything went as planned, no hidden costs and vehicle was in fine working condition for the 500 mile one way trip.

this is the 3704 New Bern avenue location. When I arrived there was another lady complaining because of the service. i was forced to select a star rating, but one star is too many~!@!!!I went to pickup the truck and no one was there. The attendant at the counter (who was so lost) said the people had left and she could not do anything. I had hired people to move me this afternoon and no truck. I am reporting this to yelp and any other places for reviews. BAD SERVICE TO RENT FROM. PLEASE CLOSE THIS BUSINESS.Then the person who should have been there called and lied about being gone for 30 minutes. I was there at 3:00 until 3:55. My pickup was 3. There was another person who came in and complained as well. I'm sure the lie was to cover up for his deception to leaving his job. Do not rent from Budget. Let them close. I lost money paying people to help me move from a storage unit. I called UHaul for the next day. Hope they are much better.I AM TIRED OF POOR SERVICE BUSINESSESS. WE ARE NOT GRATEFUL TO YOUR BAD SERVICE. ONE STAR IS ONE TOO MANY!!!!!!!!!!!

Horrible, save yourself time (and money) and choose another rental truck company. The costumer service was absolutely no help when asking why we had hidden fees charged to our account after returning the truck on time and with no issues. Didn’t tell us the drop off location had changed until after our drop-off time, very rude in communication. A costumer service representative told us a manager would give us a call back (never did), finally got another rep. and he explained to us there is no management—they just didn’t want to deal with the issues we were having aka hidden fees.

The truck was cheap and did surprisingly well in Western NC (Asheville) to here. Had no issues returning the truck or the truck itself.

The original pickup location stopped working with Budget Rental a few weeks before my reservation pick up date. I was never alerted to anything despite the reservation being made months in advance. Ended up driving all over Raleigh just to get a truck. Never renting with this place again ND would strongly advise against renting with them.

Pete Pattel and this company as a whole is a joke. I had confirmed a 16' truck for two days and unlimited miles. After Driving 2 hours to pick up the truck I was told they didn't have one. And "hopefully one will come in." After waiting almost 10 hours they called and told us they did have a truck and for causing us such an inconvenience we could have it an extra day and change drop off location if needed both free of charge, since it was THEIR mistake, and told us to call customer service if we needed the extra day and change of location. So we call customer service and talk to an Adam who also told me that everything Pete had said was true and accurate and we were all set to go. After dropping the truck off three days later I get get a surprise charge of $300.00 after looking over my paperwork they had only put in that we rented the truck for one day and 95 miles. Customer service told me That they would call Pete and see if he remembered giving us the complimentary day. They couldn't get ahold of him and basically told us we were SOL. And to email corporate and HOPEFULLY they could help. But also informed us that without Pete's confirmation they must likely wouldn't be able to help us. Never have I had to deal with such a disorganized, sleazy company that just charges people wrongfully and without telling them and just Hopes they do not notice. Or a company with such a terrible twisted ways of dealing with THIER mistakes.

Pete Patel is a joke of a manager. He got mad when I declined the insurance and that’s where it started. He told me to do a walk around my self and the truck he gave me was in terrible shape. It looked like it was in 3 different accidents. When I told him to come walk the truck with me I was told I was being a problem and that “ that he was not making money off me” and that “I was wasting his time”. Mind you this is a rental truck and no on wants to be responsible for damage they didn’t cause. He also told me not to mark it and that the people in Greensboro know him so I was ok. After arguing back and forth he had the audacity to tell me I was “acting like a woman”. Pete is the worst person to work with and said he was the manager. Budget should be ashamed to have someone like him working for them. I will never again rent from budget. I will spend the extra $100 to rent from a company that does not employ rude and disrespectful people. I submitted pics and recorded mr. Patel talking to me that way. Wish I could give 0 stars!
