DO NOT BANK WITH THEM! They only have three branches in the state and god forbid you have an issue that needs to be resolved in a timely manner. I have paid off my car loan two months ago and STILL have not received the title, and when I called, they no longer can verify my identity even though I have had zero issues in the past. Their automated system lets me access my account still but if you have a specific problem, you will NOT be able to get help and they will just pass you along to another department until you get frustrated or their business hours expire. DO NOT BANK WITH THEM.

My experience with Coastal Credit Union has been great so far. I do most of my banking online and their APY rates are excellent for both checking and savings. The few times I had to go into a branch have been a breeze as well.

I have 3 account with this bank. When I do online bank no issue. I cam in to get a cashier check to buy trailer. The guard with raparoud shade in dark lobby said I had to use teller machine. I could here person on line they keep telling to turn value up. I'd doesn't work. It not my fault you have jack equipment. I just wanted simple ck instead had to deal with robo cop hiding blood shoot eye. I will cancel 3 of my acco I nts due to this

I am a car dealer in North Carolina. I frequently have been sending customers to Coastal Federal Credit Union, but that ends today. Recently, I sent a friend of mine to coastal to apply for a loan for a vehicle I had in stock. He was approved, but in that process the loan officer was implying that my friend shouldn’t buy that particular brand of vehicle. At no point in any transaction should a loan officer share his or her opinion of a particular vehicle brand, or anything for that matter. This is very unprofessional and can disrupt a business transaction very easily.

I would not recommend coastal for anyone! They closed my checking account because it was in the negative for $41 too long which I understand. But someone decided just because of that, that they had the right to close my credit card also. Which I use and pay off frequently! I am a travel nurse and can definitely afford to pay my credit card, which I already do. I also have a $25,000 car loan through them which I pay on time faithfully! Where I stay there is no coastal near me so I forgot all about the negative checking account balance, and plus I don’t use the bank. I’m a faithful SECU member and they would never! Overall Coastal sucks. I am highly disappointed in the service.

Drove Out of my way to come to this location because it was listed as a COASTAL credit union bank to use an ATM only to find out it’s their corporate office. This location really needs to be renamed to represent that. Found the ATM hidden in the back corner of the parking lot. With no signs or anything saying there was one around or where it was when I arrived

Came in today & met William. He gave me WORLD CLASS customer service. Had loan questions, they had great rates, will be using them in the near future. I opened a checking account(the credit union benefits its hard not to). I'm brutally honest in My reviews & these folks were TOPS!!

Customer service was horrible we didn’t get greeted with no kind of politeness horrible just horrible we didn’t get our paperwork they’re supposed to been sent out to us we went through red tape with the Customer Service lady she had a bad attitude I would advise anybody if you got a loan with this bank go somewhere else please coastal credit union is horrible they really need to train their customer service people bad attitude

It pains me to write this review since I've been a long time customer (almost if not 20 years). Ebilling and payment changes were made sometime in 2021 and as a result I have started using it less and less. The last several payments to my HOA were through Coastal's site and all of a sudden (since the change), my money takes 2 WEEKS to draft from my account. I used to get the funds debited (almost like a cashier's check) and the chances of me overdrafting were slim. Because of this change, I have recently overdrafted. I scheduled my mortgage to post on the 31st but because of the delivery date of the 30th, it gets declined. When I get paid on the 15th the same thing happens except now my mortgage is late if it posts the 16th. I have moved away from using this service and as soon as I find a suitable bank to replace Coastal, I will also be closing my account. These issues plus the nightmare I dealt with when cashing a realtor's check last year tells me the honeymoon is OVER!

NEVER EVER BANK HERE!!! Went out the the country and got scammed WITH PROOF. Put in a dispute and was told I would see the money in a week. When the money never showed, I called back 8 days later to find the dispute had already been resolved. A letter mailed out and the dispute closed. Spent multiple days trying to get an answer. Was hung up on or put back in the queue multiple times. The phone agents are TERRIBLE!! Frankly they are rude and their bad customer service alone was enough to make me close out all three of my accounts. Went to a branch where, surprise, they couldn't do anything either. This bank is not here to protect your money. They are the kind of bank still doing croaked things under the table to make money off of your money. I closed my accounts today. Lesson learned alright, an 600 dollar lesson.

I really wished I never got involved with this credit union. They are so much into upselling that it's like dealing with the big banks. But unlike the big banks their systems are antiquated. Overall, I haven't had a good experience with these folks. Definitely not in the same league as the State Employees Credit Union and that ain't saying much. Overall, meh.

I would highly recommend not banking with them. Very hard to even get into your account over the phone. App is outdated and hard to use. People on the phone are very, very rude. I felt very disrespected while talking with the member resolutions department about getting my car back. The fact that it’s a pandemic and this bank has no empathy or remorse for its customers just shows that this is not a people friendly bank. I would never ever bank or loan with them again. Very disappointed and would not recommend.
