Predatory contract, and extremely difficult to cancel. Just go to the Y or another gym that won't make you jump through hoops and continuously charge you even after you "cancel".

I had a personal training contract with the gym. In December, my trainer was fired without notice to clients and I was told that I would have to start over with a new trainer, losing 6 months of prepping with the original trainer. I cancelled my training membership based on her firing and was met with rudeness from the personal training manager. I was told I had to pay for 2 more months because they fired my trainer right after my payment, missing the 30 day period. I asked to be refunded for the unused sessions and was again met with rudeness. The manager kept saying I go to another trainer but by this point I was unhappy with the disregard for my experience by firing my trainer with no options other than a new trainerI cancelled my contract with the gym because of this whole experience. I asked for a refund of some form from the current fitness manager for my leftover training sessions since I cannot use them without a gym membership. I was told I waited too long to request a refund for these sessions when I had been asking from the beginning of the year and that I didn’t understand the contract properly and there was nothing they were willing to do to help. While a majority of the people I interacted with were respectful, I lost a lot of money in unused sessions and was frustrated with the way everything was handled for me.I would really like them to improve this whole system because it feels incredibly predatory as is.

I subscribed to the 3 day trial online only to be told they won't honor it when I went to the gym because I don't live in Raleigh. Where's that information on the website? Also, it doesn't make sense since Crunch Fitness is a chain that's all over the country... so my experience here could carry over to where I live since it's one brand. Also for the one day pass they want $35, that's completely overpriced for the market, even on a local level. Niche gyms like cross fit or boxing don't even charge that much. I declined and I'm leaving this review. Maybe the rapid increase in wages for service workers and the huge supply of gyms makes them rethink their marketing in the future, but idk maybe the profit margin on $35 day passes are keeping them afloat.

Stopped in to get information about personal training. Was given the manager email to reach out to him. I do not like the fact that when I visited the guy at the front desk, I wasn't able to give me information.

I had been a member at this location for 2 years. I was friends with all the training staff and often would hang out with them and chat. Jay the fitness director (at the time, before he was fired by garret due to some weird jealousy issues that garret held against jay, because jay was a lot smarter and more qualified than him. Garret and Will both suffer from little man syndrome and a very large ego) and I were good friends and he would let me plug my headphones into a charging cable he would bring to work. Me and many members did this for over a year with no issue. One day I plugged my headphones in and a new employee who I had never seen before (turns out he was the AGM, named will) came up to me and grabbed my hand in an aggressive manner as I was plugging in my headphones and ripped the charging cable out of my case very forcefully. He proceeded to tell me “you can’t do that here” and I told him that I had done this almost every day with no issue. He proceeded to be very rude to me insisting he would no longer let that kind of stuff fly, etc etc. I proceed to tell him that he was out of line and that he was on a power trip. At this point he really lost his temper and started screaming at me like a child throwing a tantrum. I guess this really struck a nerve with him. I left and continued to work out at which point I realize he is making a phone call and talking to Garrett, the current GM, telling him that there is a member who’s acting aggressive and seeing if he can remove me from the gym. I approach him to ask if there was a problem at which point he told me “I need you to walk away or I’m going to call the police” At this point I was just shocked and really confused about his behavior, and after about 2 seconds of me standing their confused, he told Garrett he was going to call the police on me because I was “in his face” when I wasn’t at all. I proceeded to get my belongings and he came back up to me and said “I’m not going to call the police (well yeah because there was nothing to call them about) but I’m going to ask you to leave tonight, you can come back tomorrow and your membership isn’t revoked but I need you to leave tonight” So I left. The next time I came back Garrett came up to me and told me that my membership was cancelled. I proceeded to tell him about my encounter with Will but he did not care at all. I asked Garrett for the information of someone in upper management above him, like a regional manager, etc. Garrett continued to tell me “Any issue in this gym will be handled with me specifically so I’m not going to give you that information” I was shocked at this answer and continued to ask for the name of a manager and he just flat out refused and told me he wasn’t allowed to give me that information. All in all just an awful experience. The management at this location are absolutely clueless. Their training staff are incompetent and don’t even know the difference between basic lifts, yet want you to hire them. In addition to this a lot of female members were made to feel incredibly uncomfortable due to a lot of the management and staff being absolute creeps towards them. There are dozens of better gyms in the area and I highly recommend to anyone interested in this gym to sign up literally anywhere else. The only reason this location has any good reviews on this site is because they offer you a free t- shirt to leave a 5 star review. (And we all know how people will do anything for a free t shirt) None of the good reviews are real, they were all given by people who were bribed with free items.

Just moved back to NC after my Navy stint. Went ahead and signed up for the premium for the bring a friend benefit. Ended up having the pleasure of doing a fitness assessment with a trainer named Lucky. I knew I wouldn't be able to afford training sessions post move, but this man really helped me out in the span of 45 minutes. Even gave me stretches help alleviate my herniated L5-S1. Extremely personable and outgoing guy, I could tell he genuinely loves people and wants to help you reach your goals. If you need personal training, ask for Lucky!

This is the worst gym when it comes to valuing gym enthusiasts and members needing to utilize equipment and overall experience. Although the staff is wonderful and there is great personal training, I feel like we are not valued when it comes to our fitness needs and experience. The fan has been broken for months. There are several machines that are broken. The speakers at the HITT zone does not work and has been this way for months. I never see any maintenance on the machines. They just wait until the machines go down and then tell us after several months of waiting they will fix them. The promo ? TVs do not work at all. ???♀️ The sad thing since the gym is so small, when a machine is down, it is really impactful.

Best gym in the Raleigh area! Has lots of equipment and space, AND kids care, tanning, and classes are all included in the membership! The staff is very friendly and inviting everytime I come in, and it the cleanliness is always on point!

If I could give them 0 stars I would. I was on a month to month membership and they refused to cancel it unless I physically came in the gym or sent a certified letter. When I told them I was unable to do that, the manager at the time was extremely nasty and instead of cancelling continued to go back and forth. I finally cancelled it with my credit card provider. They continued to call me weekly even though I stated that the account had been cancelled. This went on for a YEAR!! Now they have sent the account to collections. Im currently reporting them to the CFPB, BBB, their corporate office and writing reviews so future customer can know how unprofessional they are. Any decent business with customer service skills and decorum would have cancelled the membership upon request especially after the whole ordeal the previous manager put me through. I believe this shows how greedy a company they are. STAY AWAY - Planet Fitness and Anytime Fitness are much better options.

The gym has plenty of machines, dumbbells and benches for use, even during peak time. The staff is friendly and inviting when scanning in.My recommendation moving forward would be to clean around base of equipment. While the common areas are clean, the base of benches and machines are attractive for alot of dust/hair/etc. It's getting noticeable given the spring pollening

My son started membership on Aug, 2022 the first two month was okay, after that they charge us twice. When I called they said it was refunded already but it was never refunded so I disputed one of the charges, they keep chargeback us. It has been four months back and forth email the General Manager Garrett Plantier and no resolution. It seems like they have no intention to solve the problem and refund my money back.

I’ve been to 4 gyms in Raleigh since I’ve moved in October. This is probably the best one I’ve been to so far. Everyone seems friendly and willing to help. It’s a nice space and CLEAN. But most importantly, you don’t have people bothering you during your workouts. Very pleased so far.

The worse gym management ever. When I joined a great staff that worked together. Had 2 premium memberships and 2 training packages because of the management who is not customer retail friendly at all no more. I have left many training behind the live has been stolen due to inadequate head strong management which I’m my view looking around why so many have left.

I joined in Jan/2022 going to get fit lose baby weight whole 9 yards. Staff was the best from the top all the way to the bottom so nice and informative willing to help. True passion was seen. Than the end of summer Manager leaves which was a huge domino effect. The caring outstanding staff soon turned to self center know it all with no customer service ability. So if you want a place who stares at you but never helps you Crunch is your place. If your serious about transformation and might need advice here and there keep looking don't waste your time. Bad management creates lazy staff, there are other places that will help.

This place is a "select" location. They will not allow the "basic" location members access without paying for a day pass or changing your home location to this facility. I pay for the top-level access at my apparently "basic location", but still not able to access this location without a day pass. I even contacted my "basic location," and they gave me a number that would allow me in this facility. At which the "manager" did not even look at and proceeded to tell me he is just the messenger. This man had no imagination and will not even try to see things from your prospective.I was allowed to work out for the day, (which was appreciated) and i assume to prevent a scene. This location actually has less to offer than 90% of the "basic" locations that I have gone to across the country. If you pay for access to this "select" club, you will be at best case paying the same for less gym and, worst case, you are paying more for less gymAlso if you talk to other crunch locations they have never heard of a Select location.
