Really big fan of First Citizens being a small biz owner. I use them for all of my checking/credit, and Keith Teegarden especially is a great help and always just a phone call away to help me with things!

Very congenial but never after spending 30 minutes with a banker they never did what I asked. Have to email twice every time to get a response, and promised x/y/z will get done and it never does. Switching to another bank. Disappointed.

Nothing but headache from day one. They don't give outtemporary cards. If you're card is lost or stolen...oh well! Just wait and hopefully it gets here some day! The app is a nightmare. Only one option to verify your identity and that is with a phone number. So if you don't have that number any more ...you cant get in! I am closing the account as soon as it is safe to and going elsewhere.

Don't do business with this bank - they will steal your money via fraudulent "fees." Bad for personal finances, bad for business. I opened accounts (checking and savings) with First Citizens so that I could transfer my funds from a state-limited Credit Union and have more flexibility in my banking options. Later I became a small business owner and opened a business account with First Citizens. I deposited a small amount of money into the business account and I left it alone while I worked on other aspects of the business. Time passed and I tried to log into my account. Each time I tried to log in their system asked me to reset my password. I only log into my account from one device, from home so I don't understand why the system has such difficulty validating my device. When I finally accessed my account, I discovered that it had been drained of almost 70% of my funds! Where did the funds go? The bank took the money via fees for a second user. Who is the second user? The bank! The only entity doing "business" in my business account was First Citizens Bank, bleeding it dry with their made-up fees. When I went to close all my accounts and complain to the bank, they (staff at the branch) acknowledged the "error" and refunded $22.50 in fees but not all the fees. If they acknowledged the error why not return ALL the funds?

Absolutely love this bank. I always go thru the drive thru to see Betty. She's the best teller! So sweet, and efficient. It's never an annoying task to go to the bank since Betty makes it a fantastic experience. Love her!

25+ year customer, I took in check from Carmax and the cashier told me "for my safety" they had to place a 7 day hold on it. Really? I'm pretty sure Im the one they handed the check to when I sold them a car! As soon as the money is in my account I'm closing it!

I'm honestly tired of the way that the staff here treats their customers. The tellers are always cold, bothered and uninviting. Absolutely no greeting upon arrival (through the drive-up) and you are always bothering them. I've had major issues at the branch before that were resolved but without any apology from the branch or branch managers. This incident was a glitch in the ATM, at no fault of my own. I honestly forgot about that incident until the unprofessionalism I experienced on 9.5.17. I utilized the drive through during my lunch break on Tuesday 9.5. I asked for four blank counter checks, which i understand is a service that is not used a lot, but for me it's more financially smarter to use counter checks (at $1 per check) vs buying a book of checks. Since this service is provided, there should not be an issue. Betty was working the window, and continued to not smile or show any type of friendliness. She said "its gonna take a minute, I have to fill them out." I told her that I can just take the blank ones and fill them out (to save her the trouble), because i had my account number sitting right there with me. She said "We stopped doing it like that." I said okay and let her continue. She then proceeded to process 3 other vehicles in the other lane and left me sitting there, (on MY time). When she finally gave me my counter checks, they had the WRONG account numbers. I have 3 accounts and that is why most of the other branches just allow me to fill in my own account number. She never asked which account or bothered to speak to me. When I flagged her back down, she rolled her eyes and ripped up the checks in front of me, clearly annoyed. She continued to be silent and cold during the rest of my transaction, but was overly polite to the other guest in the other drive through lane. I would go to other branches, but I should not have to. I should expect a decent level of kindness and hospitality at ANY branch.
