I went for a maternity photo shoot and left disappointed because they never explained that I had to pay $1,800 after paying $200 to get my pictures. First of all, I just wanted to take pictures of myself with the dresses I literally brought; I didn’t want them retouched or anything extra. I came to my appointment with my makeup done, hair done, and brought my own dresses.
They sent me an email mentioning something about portraits, but I didn’t pay any mind to it because I obviously just wanted the pictures. She took 21 pictures of me in 3 dresses; it took her no more than 35 minutes to do.
Why, after I finished the photo shoot, did this lady bring me back to a room and tell me that I had to pay $1,800 to get my pictures? I was like, “What?! No one ever told me that!” They are obviously trying to scam people out of their money. Not only that, you don’t get the 21 pictures; you get way fewer for that outrageous amount of money.
I had the worst experience ever! They said they were going to keep my deposit because I was paying for the experience, not the pictures, even though I left with zero pictures. Listen, be careful with these people; they’re scammers! There are way too many people out there who would do an amazing job for way less money.

We completed a new born photoshoot. We did not have a good experience from start to finish. We were so excited based on all the good reviews too!
The pricing seemed a great deal higher than other places we had looked at for what we got and our photos were just okay. It does seem like a very nice place but the experience is lacking.
The location is very clean. They gave us time to feed our baby before the shoot so she would have a full belly. The photo room is dark for the photos and they keep a shhh sound going to help lull babies. There is a sofa to sit on while they take photos. You can give request at booking on themes an/or colors (sort of).
When we arrived, the assistant who helped with the photos was quite rude throughout the shoot. We did not get to give input on what we wanted in photos beyond the “theme” we chose which was also disappointing. We tried several times and were shut down each time so we gave up. She was often telling us we should not look or talk to our newborn because she believes it makes them fussier (which regardless, we are the client and its our baby!). Several of the comments made to our family and baby I felt were inappropriate as well. But Anyway -
Final products, there wasn't any that we loved (not terrible, not great photos - just average. I could of done these same types at home and changed backgrounds with an AI app on my phone for similar photos to what we received and probably been happier). We voiced that when looking at the finals we were NOT happy with them - but they had moved on to the next group and we were stuck with what they took. They didn't give us any additional or retake options just showed us their AI backgrounds we could use for a cost. The packages for photos and session were over $1200-1300 minimum for 5-6 photos and digital copies (for us the pricing was roughly $500 for the session fee plus 100 for a booking fee plus the packages to be able to take your photos which started at another $800). Our order was not correct at first but after a few errors we did get them corrected and received the final product but again - nothing we were excited about.
I did explain our perspective to them, but of course they were defensive and it didn't really resolve any of our concerns. We had to agree to disagree and for us, our experience regrettably remained subpar. I am sure they will disagree with this review in the comments as well.
But Overall - we settled for what we got but we regretted going here. You make your own decision of course but wanted to leave our honest review because reviews do matter to some.

This was a wonderful experience. It was the most magical session I have ever experienced and I have grown kids that did studio sittings. I would highly recommend Hayes Fine Art to anyone that wants magical and beautiful pictures!!!

DO NOT BELIEVE THE SOCIAL MEDIA ADS!!! Absolutely CROOKED studio!!! Predatory sales practices!!! This is not an Art studio, it’s a bait and switch chop shop! This studio auto-targets ads to soon to be mothers and offers a “giveaway” photo shoot. They require a $100 deposit, which made me skeptical, but my wife wanted to do it because it is such a precious gift to be able to have these moments forever. THIS IS WHAT THEY DO! It is NOT a giveaway, everyone who enters gets a sales call from a rep to set the appointment a week or so after birth and they collect the $100 “deposit.”
We took advantage of the opportunity and paid the deposit. After our son was born we called to confirm that we would be there and when we showed up we were originally very impressed. Scenery and photography seemed to be very legit. This is the game they are playing.
The photo shoot was fun and they convince you to take a sales call with Jennifer the same day. She is 100% a commission sales person. After she shows the picture options and gets you sentimental about your favorite pictures of your new born, she tells you about the price! No joke, they have the nerve to charge $3,000 for a canvas print PER CANVAS and a small picture album with 10 6x8 wooden pictures for $3,500!!!!
You read that right, as a multi-business owner, including a print shop in N.C., the cost to print these including materials is sub-$15 for the canvas and roughly $5-$20 per wooden print.
That said, I appreciate art and the time it takes to create it, so I reached back out to the owner, Jennifer and the front desk to request the pdf of the photos we “won.” I even offered for them to keep the $100 deposit if they would edit the photos. (They tell you on all of the calls how this session is a $500 value we won)
Needless to say, we didn’t even get a response. 3 emails, 3 voice mails, spoke to the front desk and nothing but crickets! We have filed complaints with the BBB and the consumer justice department to seek repercussions for this poor excuse for service. It’s a shame to see not only how they prey on new parents hearts but also that they misrepresent art like this. Honestly this business is disgraceful.

Great experience in the studio with very kind staff, including Sarah Rose. They had bottle warmers and changing pads available la for newborn sessions and were very professional and thorough in communication via email and phone. Session took less than 30 minutes and the pictures were absolutely beautiful! Loved that I could choose my photos on zoom without having to come back into studio, so super convenient. Highly recommend!

The negotiations of the quality of the photos, just for them to be placed on a piece of cardboard is absolutely horrendous!!!!!
I would not recommend working with this company at all!

I am extremely disappointed with my experience with this company. They want me to pay $3,000 for a photo, I was expecting a premium product and professional service. However, what I received was beyond unacceptable. The photo arrived taped to a piece of cardboard, which not only lacked any semblance of care or professionalism but also risked damaging the photo during shipping.
For the price, I expected proper packaging, such as a frame, protective covering, or at the very least, careful and secure shipping. Instead, it felt like they put no thought into delivering a product worthy of the investment I made.
When I reached out to express my concerns, the response (if any) was far from what I would expect from a company charging such exorbitant prices. This experience left me feeling cheated and incredibly dissatisfied.
If you're considering working with this company, I urge you to think twice. The quality and service do not justify the price tag. I would never recommend them to anyone and will not be doing business with them again.

The experience in the place was beautiful, I went for a free photo that I won and I was also aware that I was going to buy a package, I paid $1800, I was expecting a painting of exceptional quality and I received a print in very low quality material, It really seems like a SCAM to me

I was lucky enough to win a free photo session and portrait of my dog, Franky. The staff were all great and so patient and kind to both of us. It was a great experience. I ended up just getting the free portrait although ALL of them were beautiful! I would love to go back one day and take my human daughter 🤣.
Thank you for the great experience, I am (im)patiently waiting for my portrait !!

I supposedly won a free newborn session with Hayes fine art. I was explicitly told that the only cost associated would be a $100 deposit after asking multiple questions regarding what the “winning photo shoot” included. After the photo shoot - we found out that one print has an average cost of $2500. Not only did we NOT receive our free print, we also have never received a phone call back regarding the 19 prints taken of my son. My husband was willing to purchase something if that had simply worked with him, but we never even got the chance to speak to with them a second time. They are a predatory company that takes advantage of new parents with a “free shoot” that is nothing short of a SCAM. Shame on you Hayes Fine Art. Melissa, the owner, and Jennifer who we met with after our shoot have been contacted repeatedly as we would at least like to receive the print we won. We have left multiple messages and have sent multiple emails. New parents-go with a reputable photographer. I will never get the chance to capture photos of my baby as a newborn because I fell for their scam. The only time we have received a response was their response to a google review that was left. If you scroll through prior reviews you will see that other families have fallen to this poor business scheme! They have been reported to the BBB and the consumer protection department of N.C.
We will continue to refresh our review so this stays at the top of the review list, so they cannot overshadow the truth with their staff posting fake reviews, as they have been doing. I strongly recommend going elsewhere!

Beautiful! We had a fairy photo shooting this fall. The pictures made a perfect gift for grandparents. We framed it and enjoy looking at this piece of art every day. It is truly one of a kind experience. My kids enjoyed dressing up and play in the studio while the photographer captured these beautiful moments.
