My wife and I were looking to try a new tax service this year as our usual preparer was retiring, we thought to try HR Block.
I started online filling out all my documents etc which was pretty simple and painless. We signed up for a video call message with David at this location at the earliest date a week later Monday at 12pm EST I waited 30 whole minutes on the call and David never showed up, I even messaged in the online platform with no response.
It only gets worse.
Then I called HR block customer service which they then scheduled another video appointment with David for later that day. Waited another 15-30 minutes for him to no-show again.
Then I called HR block customer service again and they scheduled me with another Tax agent at this location named Heather later that day, waited 15-30 minutes and she no-showed as well.
Then I called HR-block customer service and said “let me try in person because obviously they do not like doing video calls here. They scheduled a 5pm appointment on the Friday, my wife and I couldn’t take off any more work to try and meet with these people.
We arrived Friday for our 5pm meeting with Heather and talked with the front desk representative and they said they didn’t even have us on the scheduled even though I had a confirmation email from HR block for my 60
Minute in person appointment.
The front desk person was going to schedule us for another appointment and was telling us Monday at 2pm, again we couldn’t take off more work trying to do this, so we let her know we are done with HR block.
Went home and removed all our docs off of HR block called customer service to delete us off HR block and stop all connected and contacts and our account and a whole which they did.
I’m not one to give bad reviews at all but I have never experienced such bad experiences compounded in such a short period of time. I hope this was just a once off because I don’t know how they stay in business. Again we won’t be attempting to use their services ever.

I was late with filing this year, and had been turned away from another tax company, however H&R Block immediately made me an appointment. I was able to get my taxes done in time. I had a very good experience with my preparer.

The people have always been friendly and professional- my tax preparations have always been done in a timely manner/ always have an easy experience when scheduling appointments. ?

Customer service was amazing! Djuana is heaven sent, so considerate, patient and knowledgeable. I came in with so much confusion and misdirection and she helped me get back on track. She even stayed past her shift to help me prepare better for next year. I couldn't have been blessed w a better experience. Not everyone these days goes above and beyond so Djuana truly is a gem.

Had the worst experience with the tax preparer. We waited over an hour after our appt to even start, then she told us she could not file our taxes as she dint know how, and we would have to come back to see her colleague. I’d recommend staying far away from this branch.

Waste of my time scheduling me for an appointment and then saying I didn’t have one. Then when I ask questions the Asian lady can’t answer them. Going somewhere else. Went to location in Cary and was seen immediately no appointment.

Decided to try H&R Block over TurboTax this year...BIGGEST MISTAKE OF MY TAX HATING LIFE!H&R BLOCK IS THE LITERAL ACTUAL WORST!Paid $300 dollars for them to tell me I OWE THE GOV $121, AND THEN DIDN'T EVEN SUBMIT MY TAXES FOR ME I STILL HAVE TO DO THAT PART MYSELF!!!!On top of that the sequestered all my tax documents and kept them UNTIL I PAID THEM TO NOT DO MY TAXES FOR ME!Oh and btw, i checked turbo tax shortly after, Turbo Tax would have done the same exact thing except it would be $90 and they WOULD SUBMIT MY TAXES ON MY BEHALF FOR ME (like they've done for me every year i've ever used them [since 2006]) AND CAME UP WITH THE EXACT SAME INFORMATION AND I DIDN'T EVEN HAVE TO LEAVE MY HOUSE TO GET IT DONE!WILL LITERALLY NEVER EVER EVER EVER USE THE BLOCK AGAIN! LEGIT SCAM ARTISTS. LITERALLY PROVIDES NO LOGICAL BOOST TO HAVING TO PAY $300 DOLLARS TO DO WHAT TURBO TAX DOES FOR $90 (assuming you have anything in addition to your W-2, straight W-2s are free from what i remember).
