I recently visited Kannon's to look for a dress for my step daughter's wedding. It was necessary to make an appointment, which I did, for the time when I would be visiting my step daughter in NC. My daughter and I went together and were on time for the appointment. Upon arrival, we were told that the appointment was no longer with the saleswoman that it had originally had been scheduled with because they switched the schedule so that my saleswoman could work with a friend, who also booked an appointment at the same time. We were greeted by the new saleswoman and minimal introductions were made, she did not ask my daughter's name and asked minimal details about the wedding. She did not ask to see photos of the venue, the bride's dress or gather any information other than a verbal description of the bridesmaids' dresses. We told her we were looking for a blue gown, and that was all the info she wanted (along with budget of course), setting off to show me every blue gown in the store. After many "no's" I finally decided to say yes to a few because it was clear that the appointment was going south already. I am petite, and she put me in gowns that were way too much for my small frame. Ultimately, we showed her photos of the bride's dress and her mother's dress to give her an idea of the level of 'dressiness' of the event. She gave an offhand and insincere sounding "oh, that's pretty" about the bridal gown and it was clear from there the appointment was going nowhere. She was not pleasant or helpful through the trying on process and did not attempt to show me what the dress would look like when altered. Don't know if we weren't dressed the part, she didn't like my $1000 budget or what. She was rushed, rude and didn't make me feel comfortable or welcome. I have to admit I cried when we left.. I had already had a few challenging try-ons elsewhere at department stores, and hoped that this was going to be more of a curated, memorable, fun appointment with my step daughter as we approach her wedding day. It was none of that. I'll take my money elsewhere.

I would rate customer service with a zero! Most disrespectful and condescending salesperson I have ever met! I have experienced this twice with the same salesperson on different occasions. Kannon's should really consider who they have representing their business.

Kannon’s has fantastic customer service and a great selection! And if you need something new altered in a day for an event, they do their best to make it happen for us last minute shoppers!! I highly recommend Kannon’s.

Fantastic shop with great staff who are attentive and ready to help the minute you walk in the door. Proper tailoring for hemming, etc and good availability of brands rarely available in Raleigh like Crockett and Jones.

This store has beautiful clothes, and I bought a gown for my daughter's wedding here. The saleswoman was extremely helpful and kind while I was shopping and I picked a beautiful gown that obviously would need alterations. The store provides alterations in-house (not free, of course). The seamstress is a kind and lovely woman, and I hesitated to write this review...BUT: Promised and needed changes were not made after the first fitting, and each alteration seemed to create another problem. After 3 rounds of alterations, I was unhappy with the final alterations but gave up. I paid and took the dress, and went to another seamstress, who said about a particular problem: "Oh that's ugly. I can't fix that." Now I've just gotten the wedding photos back, and the dress looks awful. One shoulder falling off the whole time, the back view just incredibly ill fitting, side views highlighting the bad fit. I could say more, but the point is made. Also, when I returned to the store at another time, after the dress was done, the saleswoman barely made eye contact with me. The beautiful clothes they have can for the most part be purchased elsewhere (often at a lower price), and I would suggest bringing your alterations elsewhere.

I stopped in the women's store today while in town visiting my daughter who lives in Raleigh. We did not look like rag-tag customers, but neither were we dressed to the nines. Absolutely no one offered to assist us. The store was not crowded. I need a nice wardrobe for my encore career as a college professor. Admittedly, their selection was beautiful and I found a number of items I would have liked to try on, had anyone offered to assist. I still support "buy local", but maybe I'll just continue to do that back home.

Great clothes and very helpful staff…. However, after being fitted and then receiving the clothes a week later I was disappointed with the alterations. But its a very good/nice store with people trying to be as helpful as possible. I just live about 80 minutes away so likely not as big an issue with people living closer… but so wanted a great fit with the higher price of the clothes.

Super helpful staff. I visited today needing a suit. They walked me through the whole process and helped me pick out a great option! I highly recommend Kannon’s!

Incredible service in this classic men’s shop. Friendly, knowledgeable and extremely helpful in finding what you are searching for. It is pricier than the average shops but the quality of clothing and the service makes it worth every penny. Thanks John for all your assistance!

From the moment I walked in, George took great care of me. I’ve never been measured for a suit before, and he had at least 4-5 ideas for me. He measured me up, chatted with my fiancé, and had several jackets and trousers pulled aside for me within 15 minutes of stepping in the store.I walked out of that store a bit more than an hour later measured, fitted, and had all adjustments pre-measured.If you’re not sure where to look for suits and you want something a bit higher end, I’d recommend coming here!

TLDR: Kannon's has an amazing selection of clothing from a number of different lines and Francesca is the best! She was honest about what looked good and what I should pass on - and even though she had never met me, was great about finding dresses that would work well with my body type. I am 50s+ female from CA and was traveling through the Carolinas. I was prepared for the heat, but not the humidity. I needed a new wardrobe stat! I researched online and discovered a number of boutique shops in Raleigh. Apparently, I started at the wrong end of the village, as I spent 1+ hours searching through racks at other boutiques before finally making my way to Kannon's. Note: some of the other boutiques had good selections, but all seemed to be geared toward a much younger crowd. I was lucky to be approached by Francesca (might also go by Francine as I think that's what her card said). She asked what type of occasions I would need outfits for and immediately came up with selections that fit my body type and my sense of style. There were a few that made it to the reject pile - either because they didn't fit exactly right or were unflattering. In either case, it was Francesca who gave them the thumbs down, which I definitely appreciate. I have never found a boutique with so many different styles and with such a helpful staff. I am tempted to fly back solely for the purpose of being able to shop with Francesca!

If you’re looking for the best, don’t shop anywhere but Kannons... you sure did polish this old guy up ? Thank You, Will Pritchett
