Stop looking - this the mechanic you've been trying to find.
These guys are the real deal, true diamonds in the rough. I will never take my cars anywhere else (2023 Toyota Sienna and 2016 Prius V).
I swear I can't give these guys my money. The last 3 times they've sent me away with a minimal/zero bill. My most recent experience takes the cake though:
I had my 2016 Prius V towed in because it wouldn't start - it would only go into accessory mode. Daniel @ Kings diagnosed the problem even though Toyota's diagnostics were *wrong* - he correctly diagnosed that the issue was the hybrid battery's inverter and sent me off to the dealer because it would be covered under the 100k mile warranty (he could have easily just fixed it and kept my money, but again - they're too honest for that). He also took the time to explain the issue to me in detail so that I would be able to have Leith pick up where they stopped.
Sure enough - he was right and the official Toyota diagnostics were wrong. ? The folks at Leith were quite surprised too. End result was I paid nothing for the repair (which would usually have cost $2800).
Anyways - I don't usually write reviews. But these guys are an exception. I'd give them 10 stars if I could.
Thank you again, Daniel and Anthony. You all saved the day for me (again).

Working with King's was excellent. Communication was prompt, clear, and thorough. Their digital trail system is also very user friendly and clear. Work was quick. I am impressed.

I can't say enough good things about King Auto Service! I had a flat tire on my Civic, and Mr. Steve and Anthony took care of it quickly and professionally. It's rare to find trustworthy mechanics these days, but these guys are the real deal. If you need any auto work done, I highly recommend Steve, Anthony, and the rest of the crew at King Auto Service! I know exactly where I'll be going for any future services with the rest of my vehicles.

After getting my estimate, I told them I would be checking with another auto shop to just do my due diligence, and when I asked them if I decided to bring it back to have them to fix my car, would the amount I paid for the labor to figure out what was wrong with my car go towards the final bill, the response was basically "once you leave, don't bother bringing it back to us." It felt very manipulative and like an ultimatum, like I was doing something wrong by having another place look at it.
In the end, I got it fixed for half the price next door without having a bad taste in my mouth.

My older car needed emergency repair while I was in Raleigh and Kings Automotive not only did an excellent, fast job but suggested a replacement at no cost under their amazing 3-year warranty when one of the new parts had an issue, not caused by their work, months later. They are the only place I would go if I needed work again when in the area.
