We lived in South America for five years, 2 in Bogotá, 3 in Perú. I get kind of nostalgic visiting International Foods, and it's cheaper than buying a plane ticket. Their produce is very good; the plátanos and avacados, are usually nice and ripe, and there is produce you can't find elsewhere. Yucca at Harris Teeter? I don't think so. We've found the staff to be just fine.

Great selections of international food in one place. I've been looking for a place that carries food and ingredients from back home and I found the one stop.

I'm a fan, indeed! We found this place yesterday when we had lunch in the same strip mall. The produce section is amazing. Everything we saw and bought was fresh, and the prices were comparable to Wal-Mart and Food Lion (but I think this is locally owned). We were surprised to find a tiny restaurant just past the produce! Since we'd already eaten, we want to try it another time. The store is very clean and very well organized, with a ton of international foods (including cheeses) and spices. We even found a small sitting area and a small wine section. Great local store!

They are a slow grocery store but you can always find food choices here that you can't find in other grocery stores. The area may look a little run down, but selection is good, just explore a little. I love the store because no matter what your nationality is you can always feel like you in at home. They have great restaurant inside of the store. So you eat food while shopping killing two birds with one stone. You can always find a good deal on turkey wings and stock up on aluminum pans for thanksgiving because they are only .80 cents.

There's nothing I like about this store. The products are overpriced, the staff is never friendly and the restaurants that are located inside the store are far from good. Every time I try to save myself the longer drive on going to another grocery store, I end up regretting it. Almost every time I've gone, there is only one register opened! The employees just stand by the register having a conversation & when you try to check out, they tell you to go to the other lane because their lane is closed.. on rare occasions when they have two or three checkout lanes opened, two of them only take cash.. I don't see what the point is in doing that. The products are way over priced so it's not worth going to a place with high prices and rude staff. I DON'T recommend.

I am so thrilled to be able to go grocery shopping at International foods. They have everything I use to cook. Everything is always fresh. The meat department is always helpful with cutting my meat how I like it. They are very friendly, and always have specials on a lot of item's. It's one of my favorite places to shop.

I really like coming here for meats. They have low priced meats compared to Walmart, Kroger, Harris Teeter, Lowes Foods, etc. Plus, they have plenty of other foods that are loaded with flavor that I can't get anywhere else, such as jalea de guayaba, or guava jelly. Some of the prices are comparable for some items, or a little bit more expensive than Walmart, like the Chorizo is about 25 cents more here, but still a great place to shop, and find tasty food to serve up. #423

Unbeatable International Grocery Selections (Especially their produce)! Pros: a) Offer hard to find produce items. (Cactus leaves in a Harris Teeter?) b) Very good produce pricing. (Limes are typically 5 or more for $1). c) Expanded meat selections (including Oxtail). d) 5 pound bags of peeled frozen yuca. e) Features excellent Mexican, and Central American cheese offerings. f) Hosts a Small Restaurant on the premise. Cons: a) The Cash register area can create confusion. Look for which payments are accepted prior to getting in a particular lane. b) They don't have one in Cary. One does not need to be fluent in Spanish to shop here. I've seen folks from all over the globe come in, and if two people aren't speaking the same language, the universal language default is a English. *It's a grocery store which offers a restaurant. It's in Raleigh, and has a good sized parking lot. I've found the service to be good, and would like to be clear that I'm reviewing this as a grocery store which offers a restaurant inside (rather than a restaurant surrounded by a grocery store). *I really enjoy the selection and environment, and hope they consider a location in Cary soon.

This store has almost all of the things you'll need to cook authentic Latino dishes. Well organized and simple. I think it's the biggest and best stocked Latino market in Raleigh. Julian; the Dominican/Mexican little restaurant inside the market has a lot of tasty food at an affordable price. What is super cute about the restaurant is that on Sundays (12-4PM) they have a karaoke duo singing Latino songs. Not a beautiful place, but it's definitely adorned with life, joy, and passion.

If you are in any sort of hurry avoid this place. They will have 4 registers open and only 1 or 2 will take credit or debit cards. So unless you have cash you have to stand and wait while the cashiers that take cash and have no lines stare awkwardly at everyone waiting in line. It's 2013 can't every register take a card? Not if your international foods!

They have a restaurant in this store called Julian but I didn't eat here so I can't say anything but the store is huge and well organized and clean. I see food from Dominican, Mexico, Argentina and other Latin countries. Huge parking lot as well.

An Engineer friend I work with originally from the DR took me to lunch today at Julians within International Foods. Totally blown away by the quality, quantity and price of the lunch. With several mix n match selections on the serving line I can appreciate why the small cafe reminds him of "Back Home" cooking. While I had carnitas with red beans and rice; Pedro had a Beef Tripe Stew; both to die for. After Lunch we browsed through the Market looking at endless selections from the Carribean, Mexico, Latin and South America. I couldn't believe the prices and selection among the meat and vegatable counters. I'll definitely be back.

Great grocery store with a wide variety of ethnic foods, fresh produce, meats, and cheeses. Mostly Latin American oriented, but also have Asian and African food products. There is also a restaurant inside - Caribbean Cafe - Dominican, Puerto Rican type faire. Very good and cheap. If you like a dive with good food, this is a must try. Go on Sundays and if you are adventurous, you can buy tamales in the parking lot from a lady selling them from her car. Gotta love an entrepreneur. I bought some and they were very tasty - homemade obviously. Being from LA this isn't weird to me ... you can pretty much buy anything from the back of a car there ;)
