The state fair offers awesome attractions. However, it needs an operational upgrade. At one point it was so crowded by the grandstand the crowd was gridlocked and pushing against each other. It was impossible to walk. Lines and wait times were incredibly long. Worst of all, there was zero available parking. We ended up parking at the art museum after sitting in traffic for about an hour. We had to walk on the side of the road with crowds, with no sidewalks, street lights, police, cones...nothing. I would have never brought children here if I knew how unsafe just navigating to and within the fair would be.

Something for everyone at the North Carolina State Fair. NRBC has a booth there every year. The crowds are huge. Visit on a weekday and plan to spend the day!

Went to the State Fair Flea Market. Open every Saturday and Subday except in October. Great variety of vendors selling large selection of household, clothing, shoes and food truck options available.

In my opinion this state fair I go almost every year is pretty awesome. I think go on the weekdays to the state fair than on the weekends, because the weekends get very very packed as a matter of fact. The food there, and the staff there is awesome. Can't wait to go back there next year sometimes, because I'm a pretty busy guy. Remember go on weekdays mom-thurs, so it won't be busy I THINK. Have fun, and have a good 24 hours.

I know. How does the fair get a 4? I've been several times spread out over my 25+ years being back in the triad. This particular year seemed off to me. Plenty of rides and games. The food we had at the Korean food truck was great! For me there want a lot to see and take in. To be fair it was a work outing in broad daylight. I've gone before during the day and walk the exhibits and such. This year seemed lackluster. Parking has gotten worse. Oooh weee! Some may say better thanks to electronic payment services. Now you can cash app money to that sweet old couple for parking in your yard vs having to have cash or worrying I you have correct change. I opted for the park and ride. Or should I say park and haul. Oooo wee! Free.99 so I am not complaining about that part. Trying to locate the lot? Thankful for my coworkers because uh ruhhh I was struggling. You travel on motor coaches. Nice cushy ride and no driving. Be prepared to walk always to get in but if you've ever been to a state fair or even a county fair this is par for the course. I wasn't expecting so many people on a Thursday morning! Wowza!

If I could give this, no stars, I would the prices were ridiculous. It was disgusting. It was not well-maintained at all. There were several fights. It was unsafe there was ridiculous things going on without protection. It is like not a place to take children. It’s the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever seen. This is a horrible experience not worth the gas time the parking the moneyabsolutely not worth any of it

This was my 2nd time ever going to the fair and we had a great time! We went solely for fair food, so this review will mostly be about that lol. You can tell the fair is a huge undertaking for the city because we went on a Monday afternoon and the roads were set for major fair traffic with blockades and police directing traffic and pedestrians. Again, this was Monday afternoon. So I can only imagine how hectic it gets on the weekends!!! We did park quite a ways away and walked. Which was fine. Getting tickets and entering was a breeze and there were no issues. Once we got inside there were a good amount of people there for a weekday. But it wasn't too crowded. We ate a couple phillys from two vendors that were both amazing! We tried the ostrich burger from a vendor and it wasn't good at all. No seasoning, and it cost $19! Extremely overpriced and not good, so that was a bummer. But hey, we can say we tried it. We ended up throwing it away after a few bites. We also had the Krispy crème burger of course. That was pretty good! The best past for me was the deep fried Oreos!!!! So so good! I don't have any pics because I took mostly video lol. But I definitely recommend taking a foodie fair trip. We had a great time!

I used to love the state fair and enjoyed it so much as a child and adult I would go every year up until 2022, most of the people there were so rude and pushy for no reason at all. However, security was and Im sure it still is scarce for the high amounts of people that have started going the last few years. Im so glad we decided not to go this year after seeing a video of this very scary incident posted online. This mother and her 9 yo son were waiting in line for a ride, when they'd been waiting about an hour a group of teen girls ran thru the line pushing and cutting in front of everyone. The mother (rightfully so) wasn't allowing them to pass, was non confrontational only standing in their way. The assault was reported to raleigh pd and they're trying to sweep it under the rug to protect the reputation of the fair. These dangers to society as well as the city of raleigh both need to be held accountable. Im posting the link for the sake of spreading the word. ***WARNING GRAPHIC CONTENT***

The fair was alright. It was WAY too crowded can’t really do much and wait too long for everything. Everything was a pricey for no reason. Whoever the lady do did my henna was so inexperienced, it turn out so ugly. So much rude vendors. I didn’t really enjoy it much. Definitely my first and LAST time every going.

I have gone to a number of fairs, some big and some small. This to me was okay, but not great. The number of exhibits was just okay and I really would like to have seen more. We bought a ticket that included a beer or a wine along with it for $17.00 per person. The thing that really brought this rating down for me was the tremendous wait in queueing for EVERYTHING. The food selection was okay but I think a bit overpriced and just getting to it over the sea of people was not a good experience. Everyone was reasonable and cordial considering that every step you took was about a dozen people in front, back, or on each side of you.

Ridiculous parking is a nightmare. State Troopers out got attitude can’t help you park can only tell you what lots are closed d*** state troopers just sitting in their cars or standing in groups very unhelpful. Ask a question where to park and they give you attitudes. All ticked off because they have to work. No signage for parking.HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE. AND THE BEST PART NO REFUNDS UNREAL NEVER AGAIN

We've gone to the state fair twelve or fifteen times over the last 30 years. It can be a huge hassle to go with parking, crowding, and the expense, so we don't go every year. However, once you get there and if you're willing to have fun, it's almost always a great day, from the agricultural and horticultural exhibits to the commercial products available, to the contest winning exhibits, to the food and midway. We were blessed with the perfect weather, so we had a fantastic day this year.I will say the Bandwidth parking was about as trouble free as they could make it with shuttles almost instantly available when we needed them. Ten out of ten for that.
