We love Dr Duffy. Would not take our cat anywhere else.

My cat Marley's first couple experiences were okay and he was neutered here. Dr. duffy was professional and everything seemed clean but my cat after he got neutered ended up hating her. Generally he has a chill personality and loves everyone. When we came to the vet about a month after he got neutered. He was perfectly fine with the room and nurse. When she came into the room, I saw him tense up and hiss. I've never seen him do that towards anyone. Overall, he doesn't like her and that's okay. She has a job where she has to be the bad guy sometimes with animals and do things that they don't want happening to them. The problem I have is her passiveness and weirdness. Her communication skills are not great and she sounds very passive aggressive most of the time. He got mad when she stuck a thermometer up his butt and she acted like he was a "very nervous personality" and said that other cats don't mind getting a thermometer up the butt. She repeatedly said that he was a nervous personality and that we needed to get an at home vet. She has struck me as rude many times and overall gives me weird vibes. This was longer than I expected but the main gist of this review is, if your cat slightly gets testy, don't go here? She doesn't want cats that get mad about things and does not seem kind in the slightest. I would suggest going somewhere else.

I am new to Raleigh and when I was walking to my car in the city, I found an abandoned kitten. I wanted to have a vet check the cat instead of a shelter, so I drove 25 min to this clinic. The vet and vet tech at the front were beyond rude and dismissive and essentially kicked me out of the clinic before I could explain what happened. All I wanted to know was the age/gender of the kitten and what resources I had available to help the kitten out. I would NEVER recommend them. I was actually planning on taking our 2 cats to them before this but not after that encounter.

TRUST ME!! The best cat hospital in North Carolina! Very reasonably-priced, friendly, and professional. My cat Cloud is so healthy and up-to-date in shots from this hospital. Also, he was neutered here with a very reasonable price. As a Persian, he had matted coat, but they also did the lion cut for him.I am moving to another state next week, and I am very regretful that I have to leave this wonderful hospital here. I wish I could find a good cat hospital like this.Thank you so much for the last few years.

Dr. Duffy had been my vet for over a decade, only because my mom took my pet here out of convenience (6 minutes from our home). Over this time, we have experienced a lot of her unprofessionalism and lack of up to date knowledge. She remains one of the only, if not the only, place that declaws cats, which in itself is terrible that she does this still instead of offering nail caps. Dr. Duffy knew my cat was a “problem cat” being brought to the vet, but despite this she never offered to prescribe her gabapentin to sedate her and make the vet trips more effective. Upon asking her after a failed vet trip why she wouldn’t prescribe her a sedative, she told me I would need to take my cat to an animal hospital and have her sedated, which is crazy because the new vet I go to has no trouble with her at all on a very low dose of gabapentin, only 100 mg. After this confrontation with Dr. Duffy, she wrote a handwritten letter and sent it to my boyfriends house, so as for avoid my mother seeing it, telling me to find a new vet, and enclosed my cat records. I even tried to make amends with her, for whatever I had done by asking for the sedatives, and she refused to take me back! Just really odd and rude. If I were you, I would avoid coming here at all costs. She still won’t even let you be with your cat inside the clinic at this time because of COVID….it isn’t right. Go to COZY CAT CLINIC, they showed me what proper cat care and effective communication looks like.

The front desk and vet tech were great, but I found the vet here to be dry, short and uninformed. She gave me a lot questionable advice regarding my cat’s issue that directly contradicts what I have known to be true and have heard from other vets, and in fact revealed a fundamental lack of understanding of this species on Dr. Duffy’s part. I left feeling as though I’d wasted my money, and to be honest I wouldn’t be able to confidently allow her to treat my pets in the future. It’s very disappointing as you’d hope a clinic that only sees cats would be a specialist. If you take a peek at the other critical reviews here you’ll see a common theme.

I loved this place! Was very unfortunate when they didn’t answer the phone to let them know I was unable to bring my cat in because she ate before her surgery. Now I’m no longer welcomed back. Really sad to part with them.

I could not love this practice any more than I do. Dr. Duffy is so incredibly knowledgeable, I truly enjoy talking to her. She personally calls with any blood work results, patiently answers any and all questions. She is very practical, very down to earth, and I trust her implicitly. Sean and Carrie are also just wonderful, kind, and professional. I recommend this practice to all my cat-loving friends. As anyone knows, veterinary care is not cheap, but I wouldn't trust it if it was. I find this office to be extremely fairly priced.5 out of 5 stars

This place has been awesome! I take my kitten here based on a rescue recommendation and am very happy with them. They've been responsive, COVID conscious, knowledgeable, and kind. My kitten's regular check ups have gone great. She has had some GI issues that required a few additional visits and phone calls for info. Raleigh Cat Clinic answers my calls and the veterinarian gets me an answer within an hour if not right away. They also scheduled an appointment with short notice when my kitty had an eye infection and got her seen and set up with medication quickly. They've been nothing but helpful and caring!

The vet techs / front desk staff at this clinic are the place's one saving grace - as they are the only warm, friendly presences you will find in the place! While Dr. Duffy did give me eye drops and an antibiotic that successfully cleared up an eye and upper respiratory infection that was afflicting my cat and while she did administer vaccinations and provide spaying services at a reasonable cost, I later realized that there were some irregularities in the care she advised while my cat was recuperating from being spayed. Dr. Duffy said that I would not need any pain medication as she went in with, and I quote, "a gentle touch" when making surgical incisions, and that she could provide me with some to take home if I wanted, but cautioned that it would be a waste of money. She told me that I could always come back in for some should my cat seem to need it, despite the fact that cats are notorious for hiding signs of illness and pain, something she should, hopefully, know as a vet. Humans would almost certainly want pain medication following a hysterectomy, so I fail to see why cats should be any different. That said, due to the aforementioned advice, I instead got over the counter pet pain medication to treat my cat with in the days following her surgery. Dr. Duffy also told me that I could safely be hands-off while letting her recover, because she would take care of the stitches / wound care on her own, just like she would take care of grooming herself. I was later informed elsewhere, however, that one is not supposed to let a cat tend to their stitches, as the risk of infection and/or stitches getting ripped out is high. Apparently, it is standard practice at other veterinary clinics to send female cats home with a cone and/or a wrap/shirt thing that protects their stitches, as their organs can apparently fall out should their stitches somehow come open. Luckily, this did not happen with my cat but it would have been my expectation to have been offered such devices by my vet and to have been told that, in the absence of such measures, I was risking my cat's life.Further still, I have found Dr. Duffy to be short and dry, and critical. When she sold me a flea collar for my cat and mentioned that it would have to be "tight enough" in order to be effective, I requested that she put it on her for me, to which she replied "I guess I have time." I also gave my cat a flea bath to rid her of fleas, which I followed up the next day with a topical flea treatment, which did not seem to work. When I mentioned that to the vet, she told me that topical treatments rely on the oils in the cat's skin to function and asked me - very condescendingly! - if I had read the instructions on the topical treatment (I, in fact, had and said instructions did not mention going x amount of days or hours without bathing one's cat beforehand. Indeed, if I recall correctly, they even mentioned that it would be okay if a cat was bathed or otherwise got wet in the monthly period in between applications). When I brought in my cat with nail caps, she questioned why I would even put them on her. She also doesn't offer microchipping and when I inquired into it, she told me that I would have to set up a visit somewhere else that did perform that particular service. I went on to do just that, as well as to have my cat's flea problem to be assessed by another practice as the solutions Dr. Duffy presented were not effective, at which point I was returned that said clinic would need her records from her "primary" vet.Apparently, Dr. Duffy's practice does not have the ability to scan and email copies of records to their clients, but when I requested that they fax them over to the vat at which I had an appointment, they did not do so in a timely manner, which meant that I had to reschedule. When I returned for my rescheduled appointment a week later, they still hadn't faxed over the records, and vet staff at the other practice had to follow up on my behalf.

I’m sure they’re great but they’re currently “not accepting new clients”. Is it so hard to put that on your website so I don’t spend 20 minutes looking for reviews, filling out your contact form, etc? Geez

I trust no other vet specialist other than Dr. Duffy with my cat, Jax. She has been nothing short of a blessing when it comes to how their clinic operates. The expertise and communication is unparalleled to any other clinic I have experienced. She handled my cat like it was her own and always treated both of us with the upmost respect. Dr. Duffy has provided so much intelligence for the well-being of Jax. She is very direct and straight to the point when it comes to treatment. She has taken such great care and I will always recommend any cat lovers to bring their fur babies to see Dr. Duffy. I guarantee you won't be let down.

If you are looking for a vet that only deals with cats this is it. Never had any issues with them and have been going for years

I took my dwelf in and someone named Cary was very rude about him being a dwelf. I didn't appreciate her tone. I don't like leaving bad reviews but I'm paying you to check his health, not tell me about his legs being short as if I didn't already know that. She spoke to me like I was literally an idiot lol It was comedic because I'm like ma'am, you couldn't tell his legs were short? Like I know lmao. Very weird energy and I won't bring him back because although I understood her concern, it was handled rudely. Very Karen like. His legs do not hinder him. I paid them to tell me if my car was healthy not question my intelligence and body shame my cat lmao
