My husband and I bought a CX-5 from Southern States Mazda in September. It's our first Mazda and so far we love it! Cory Pitts was our salesman and he was so good to us! He was knowledgeable, kind, and laid-back. We didn't feel any pressure from him and it was a very chill and comfortable car buying experience. We went back to get help with the Mazda App and Cory took the time out of his busy day to fix the issue for us and make sure we didn't have any more questions or concerns. If you need a new car go and see him. Thank you Cory Pitts!

Wish we could give a ZERO rating! Had check engine light, took our 2010 Miata 2 times for repair. Both times they said car was fixed, both times engine light came back on. They tried to blame us for some aftermarket parts (maintenance parts, NOT performance parts). 3rd time we went, tried to talk to general manager. He had "just left". He refused to talk to us after multiple calls to them. AWFUL customer service, service manager said car was too old & too many miles to fix. Seems like their technicians need to go back to auto mechanics school! Service manager finally called & said general manager told him to call us and tell us "there was nothing else they could do".

This review is based on my communications via email with Amber Lastra. I was in the market to buy a new car and I like to do all of my communications via email. I reached out via their website and Daniel Gatabaki got back to me quickly with a solid OTD number for a new vehicle. We went back and forth several times and Amber the internet sales manager ended up stepping in. Her price was very competitive and very close to being the lowest but unfortunately not the lowest I received so I went with another dealer instead. Their pricing was VERY close to a competitors but they did the best they could. However, Amber and Daniel were very responsive the whole time and was great to work with. I never once felt pressured or rushed to buy a car and my process took about 2-3 weeks of communication. Amber responded almost immediately every time and answered all questions that I had. In fact, she was very honest about a deposit for a car saying that it is always refundable and if any dealer tells me that it isn't then they are being dishonest! Which actually happened so I appreciated that piece of advice. I hope to work with her again in the future when I search for another new vehicle. Thanks Amber + team!!!

I had a 10:00 appointment scheduled to change the oil and rotate the tires. I’ve been here for 3 hours and 15 minutes and they still haven’t started. Most places can change the oil and rotate tires in 30 minutes or less. This is a work day. It’s one thing to take 30 minutes away from work for a quick oil change, it’s completely different to miss a full days work. I wonder how many more hours it will take. This place is horrible.

I’m so impressed with our experience at Southern States Automotive in Raleigh! Patrick Gomes and Jerod Smith we’re so professional, attentive and knowledgeable. No games. Full transparency. My husband asks ALOT of questions and we felt completely at ease with the entire process! We have a brand new Mazda CX30!!I'm adding to my original review to include our great experience with Southern States' Service Department. Our salesperson, Jerod, stepped in to help us with an issue and he arranged a solution with their Service Department. He set up our appointment, arranged for a loaner car and ensured we were happy with the result. The Service Department did a great job and we continue our enthusiastic support of this business! :-)(Our first Mazda!) I highly recommend these folks!?

Just had the worst experience EVER. Had an appointment (2nd one) 1st time we were told to come in the person who needed to inspect daughter's leased car for purchase was not here so we came in for nothing. Today we had an appointment at 4 and 3 hours later haven't even made it into finance office. The guy we needed was not here again. Had to get a Hyundai guy inspect it. Guy we were dealing with kept dissapearing. Will never ever come back here again and will definitely spread the word.

Had a fantastic experience working with Cory Pitts at Mazda! Extremely easy to work with and went above and beyond what was expected. If you are in the Raleigh area and looking for the easiest car buying experience, I would highly recommend this dealership and especially Cory!

I had a great car buying experience thanks to my salesperson, Cory Pitts. He was very knowledgeable about the car, personable, and accommodating based on my schedule. He definitely looked out for me as the customer. He genuinely cared about my experience and time. He wanted things to move quickly and efficiently and ensured that happened. I love my car and can't thank Cory P enough for providing an awesome car-buying experience.

Had a great new car purchase experience recently at Southern States Mazda. We live over 2 hours away, so reserved our car remotely. The on line sales team provided an out the door quote, including a discount with no strings attached, and assured us there would be no surprise fees when we arrived to pick up our CX-5. Lewis completed the sale in person, patiently showing us the car's features, and setting us up with Mazda's app. Overall, an enjoyable, no pressure purchase, especially compared to contingencies other Mazda dealerships were expecting.

Out of town buyer (coastal NC). My sales person, Jeremy has been good to work with, but everything else has been a nightmare. Car was delivered to me and was not cleaned/detailed at all. Still had dog hair in the car/film over surfaces and exterior was not cleaned. On top of that, the wrong paperwork was brought listing a different car and one of the keys provided was not for my car. Been two weeks since delivery and still waiting on my second key and correct paperwork. Expected more given how flexible I was and how much I paid.

I have a 2021 Mazda3 that wouldn’t start, so I had it towed to Southern Mazda’s service department. While it was there, I asked them to also investigate an issue I was having with the windshield wipers malfunctioning. A few hours later, I was informed the car was ready to pick up and the issue was a dead battery. When I picked up the car, I also inquired about the windshield wiper issues – only to be told that there was no record of that issue. Instead, the representative told me there was nothing they could do about it, and I needed to make a follow-up appointment.I drove the car to a restaurant and when leaving – a few hours after the battery was replaced, the car again wouldn’t start. I again had it towed to Southern Mazda the next morning and again asked them to address both issues: (1) the car not starting which they failed to fix the first time and (2) the windshield wipers not working correctly which they ignored the first time.A few hours later I was told that the car was ready for pick up, but that they couldn’t fix the windshield wipers as there was nothing wrong. I inquired as to why and was told that the technician had the same model car and knew it was working correctly. I have a hard time taking the technicians opinion seriously, since this is the same service department that failed to install a battery correctly. There are ways to test the windshield wipers, and today when it rained – to my shock and surprise the windshield wipers weren’t working correctly. Imagine that? The lack of concern and ambivalence by everyone in the service area I dealt with was truly amazing. Due to the dealer’s error I had to spend $120 in Uber rides and still have faulty windshield wipers, and it appears everyone thought this was acceptable. After dealing with Southern Mazda’s service department, I think I may never buy another Mazda again (and will certainly never use their service department).

I had such an incredible experience getting my used CX5 from Southern States Mazda. I love my car! It was in pristine condition when I picked it up.Every employee I worked with went above, and beyond. Their customer service will keep me coming back for any future car needs. Highly recommended.Special thanks to Lewis, the sales consultant who worked with me throughout the purchasing process. He was so helpful, and made the experience enjoyable. I also worked with Shaleace, and Chris. They also made the car buying process fun! Fantastic staff!
