I had a tooth pulled today and the dentist didn’t send me home with any pain medication. I can’t take ibuprofen or aspirin as I am allergic and the Tylenol was not cutting it. I was able to make an appointment immediately with Dr. Taylor. I had just spent 300$ on dental work and the front desk staff was so nice and allowed me to only pay half of the copay and be billed the rest. I was hysterically crying and the wait time was so quick, the nurse and tech were absolutely wonderful and funny and they made me feel at ease.Dr Taylor was so understanding and took me seriously (many doctors seem to brush off patient pain nowadays). He gave me some steroids for the swelling and some pain medicine to help me for the next few days. Truly a life saver. He was thorough about my allergies to NSAIDs and genuinely concerned about my well being. I am switching to this practice as my primary now because of how wonderful my experience was in my time of absolute misery. He even sent over an inhaler for me when I called after I left and told him I forgot to mention I ran out of mine!Thank you to the whole staff!!

I have been going to UNC Family Medical forover 10 years and been serve with nothing more than complete courtesy, timely appointments, and professional medical advice and service I have also felt very comfortable here

I had a very good experience at this practice. I appreciated that I could schedule a new patient appointment online. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. The appointment with Taylor Irvin was thorough. No long waits; I was able to get my annual physical, flu shot, and labs all in around 30 minutes. Lab results came back the same day and provider comments / notes were posted to MyChart shortly afterwards.

I sent a message that my prescription needs refilled. That was on July 29. Left a voicemail on July 31 and again on August 3 with the doctor's assistant. NO REPLY. finally had to talk to a nurse. Who then tells me I will have to come in for a refill. It's the same prescription I've been taking for a number of years. I hate that you need a doctor's visit just for a refill. NOT HAPPY.

I have been seen by Stacey Bauer for years. She always greets me with a smile, is professional and knowledgeable. It has been easy to get next day appointments. I have never had to sit in the waiting room for long. Front desk staff is helpful and engaging.

Worst doctors office I have ever been too. I printed out all of my patient forms and took the time to fill out all 10 sheets. They never took them to enter my information into the computer. That was the first red flag. They gave me the wrong instructions for my prescription and I didn't notice until I was a week into taking it. I was on hold for the better part of an hour!! When I finally spoke with someone she was extremely rude. She refused to get a nurse or a doctor to speak with me. She then asked for a phone number to call me back. I needed answers as to what steps to take next so I asked again to speak with someone who could advise me. She then placed me on hold for another twenty minutes. I was then sent to someone's voicemail and never received any answers!!

Still very weary of anything UNC health has to offer. Would not recommend. UNC has not earned my seal of approval in an way shape or form.

So thankful to be a patient at this medical facility. To the doctors, pa's,nurses and overall staff, thank you for your kindness, compassion, and knowledge. If I could leave more than 5 stars I would because this office truly deserves it! JWK

I’m always seen right on time and my doctor Peter McIlwaine takes the time to know my needs as a person more than just a patient. This place deserves way more 5 star reviews I feel like the current rating is misleading!

They cancelled an appointment I had for 3 months the morning of and didn’t give me any real warning. I got one call from a random number at 7:26am, no voicemail, no email, no text, and no follow up call. I drove an hour for no reason, and that’s the last time I’ll do that.

6.8.22---->updating, even though I don't think they care. Just phoned them to schedule an appointment. While things have changed considerably they still have these rude people manning the phones that have absolutely no people skills. It is extremely frustrated to ask questions and have the receptionist repeat the same answer over and over verbatim without any clarification.3.26.18--->Just phoned only on hold for 5 mins, which is a record for this place. They are still working on getting everyone in the CareCloud crm. Reached out for F/U after recent visit.3.12.18--->Called 3x today to schedule an appointment and each time there were like 15 ppl ahead of me. I hung on line for 10-15 minutes and then tried later, finally able to schedule my appt. Also, just received an email from CareCloud. A new patient CRM tool they are leveraging for better healthcare, looks as if you can schedule appointments and everything here. Happy to see a step in the right direction. Updating my review.Jan. 2018---> I had a visit back in January and I must report all went well. They actually squeezed me in to a busy schedule. Updating my rating accordingly.12.6.17---> Editing this review because the service just keeps getting worse. So I reach out to them 12/5 around 10:30 AM to let them know I was having complications with a antibiotic they proscribed. I was slurring my words, unsteady on my feet, groggy, and having a really hard time focusing. After googling the medication these are all listed as pretty alarming side effects and told me to go straight to the hospital. It's now been 24 hrs and no one from this doctor's office has returned my phone call. Thank goodness for Google. Update: Received call from nurse 36 hours after calling. Smh.11.27.17--->They are the absolute worst. Horrible customer service from their front office staff. You will wait on hold for what seems like an eternity and more often than not when you finally get someone they will say a quick hello then hang up on you, if you don't respond fast enough. Today's appointment took me 1 hour on hold and being transferred back in forth to finally confirm. Billing department is atrocious and disrespectful and will never apologize when they make a mistake. I was overcharged for a service and it took them 6 months to refund my money even with me calling every month, they kept telling me our Operations manager hasn't signed the checks yet. They cancelled my appointment without telling me and then put it in the system as if I had cancelled myself because I refused to pay them a $25 copay they didn't collect at the last visit, even though I told them during the previous visit I needed to pay. I was scheduled for a $300 procedure so there was no need to pay the money separate and I told them I would pay when I got there and they still cancelled my appointment and didn't even communicate it to me. Despite all of the shenanigans with the front staff the doctor's and PA's are really nice and professional. I've been going here for almost 5 years and I've noticed a continuous decline in the service they offer here. It's time to find a new doctor's office asap.
