Smells like spoiled milk and fish. Prices comparable to Publix and other higher end places. Zero excuse for the smell at this establishment.

I mostly popped in just to use the restroom and pick up some snacks, so take my review with a grain of salt, but: The bathrooms were clean, but also not... it's pretty clear the store hasn't had a good scrub in a long time, bathrooms included. Food service areas looked clean enough. I spent the most time in the bathroom, so heres what bothered me enough to review. The toilets don't flush right, which sure, some toilets are less than great. So goes life. The air filter above the stall is caked with dust. What concerned me most is that the pump for the only hand soap dispenser in the bathroom was broken...? There wasn't a bottle of soap anywhere, there wasn't a bottle of hand sanitizer....just an unusable soap dispenser. So, have the employees just not been washing their hands? To give them the benefit of the doubt, it could be a newly arisen issue, or maybe there's some secret that I don't know to operating broken soap dispensers. I'm sure the one in the mens room was fine. However, it did bother me a little that there wasn't even a SoftSoap bottle. It is a store, after all. There had to have been a bottle they could have snagged less than 100 feet away. Please excuse my passionate soap rant, but I feel uncomfortable knowing people who handle produce might not be washing their hands. Anyways, the hot Cheetos were delicious, so there's that.

Great staff, decent amount of options, but 90% of the fruit is rotting. Over ripe wrinkled and bruised fruit is all you will find aside from the apples oranges and grapes... no decent plums, pineapples, strawberries, peaches, pears more than once every few months. They are either ridiculously under ripe and super solid (can't just wait for them to ripen bc they were collected too soon and If you let it sit it will rot before it gets ripe. Not to mention the fruit flies all over the produce sections especially on the plums... I've been going there 5-6 times a month for over a year now and have seen no improvement in this issue. Lot of food going to waste what a shame. The staff is very helpful and friendly, but their produce section needs a lot of work.

Yo look I used to love this Harris teeter because it's around the corner for me and hella convenient for my lazy self. Until today. During my visit I saw two people walking around without masks on! Customers that I WATCHED interact with the staff members!! Like four different staff members!! I pulled one of the employees aside and checked with him about their store policy: he told me that only the manager can speak to customers about not wearing a mask. And an employee making minimum wage is DEFINITELY not going to want to have to deal with that drama! It's gonna be a potential showdown that is MUCH easier to pretend to ignore...especially when there are no policies in place to protect the workers. An unmasked customer puts the random, tapped-upon in an awkward decision that gives them two options: 1) pull the customer aside and potentially cause a scene by asking them to wear a mask. Mind you these folks probably don't make much more than minimum wage. 2) smile (through YOUR mandatory mask) and ignore the fact that this customer has potentially given you a viral infection. This is extremely irresponsible of HT, and spells out pretty clearly to their employees that higher management does not care about THEIR health and wellness and that their health comes only second to the stray unmasked customer. Pay your employees MORE MONEY for working through this madness, AND give them the tools they need to alert the correct persons in an efficient manner when a customer is openly endangering their health AND the health of your other customers! At the very least train a few people on how to properly interact with a customer in that situation so that the situation can be handled more swiftly and effectively, so that you don't have a whole shift relying on one person! Very disappointed to see Harris teeter leaving their community so vulnerable.

If you are seeking expired and rotting produce this is the store for you. The staff is always present and friendly. The product selection and quality is the problem.

This Harris Teeter has the nicest staff. It is smaller than some but you can always ask for specific items if there is something you would like them to add.

This Harris Teeter is a BIG disappointment if you have ever shopped in the more modern nicer HT's. It is not a disappointment if you like exploring a maze! The "fresh meat" market is VERY small. Deli does not have the options the newer stores have. No gas station. I go here if I have to.

Produce are never in stock and the limited produce that are available for purchase are either not close to being ripe or about to spoil. The prices are so high for the quality. Cashiers are pleasant. They usually restock mid day which gets in the way of shopping. It's very difficult to maneuver around when they are restocking the refrigerator you need to get into. This is the closet grocery store so we are forced to go and it's never a pleasant experience.
