Shipped my car there for a few simple repairs and upgrades. 10 months later and $10,000 later my car now leaks transmission fluid (never leaked before) leaks gas, odometer no longer works, brakes are worse then before, and gas gauge says 1/4 tank and actually empty. Wires strung across engine bay for EFI. Am sure they will get ripped out next time I do anything under the hood. Charged me for "research time" when it took them 2 tries to fix front suspension and 3 tries for emergency brake fix. Seems like when they make mistakes, they charge you. Installed a new battery (old one was 1yr old and under warranty), and new glovebox that I did not ask for, but was charged for both. Emailed dissatisfaction to them a few times and no reply. Will take their time, will take your money, and you will be disappointed.Update 9/30/23Mike has reached out to me to try to work something out. Will let everyone know how it turns out.

After making a 2 hour trek from Greensboro to Shelby, we thought that we had found the perfect shop to complete the sheet metal on our project car. Having discussed the details and paid a $500 deposit, we had the car delivered to their shop. The work was promised within 6 months, and we were excited about getting the work done so that we could send it to the paint shop.Six months came and went but we saw no photos or verification of work done. We then received another invoice, this one for $2000. We requested photos. Three were received, and we were shocked to see that the car had been disassembled, both rear quarter panels had been cut off, and the entire (perfectly good) roof had been cut off!Within a couple days we showed up at Corbett’s shop to see the car for the first time in 7 months. At that point we had spent $5000 in labor, and another $950 for a quarter panel. Less than 10% of the work had been done. Simple math told us that this shop would be charging us $50-75,000 for labor alone, and thousands more for fabrication. We asked that the shop cease work.A week later, on February 15, 2022 we loaded the car onto a trailer, full of fenders, quarter panels, bumpers, doors, etc. Before we finished loading, I was presented with another bill for $1500. Although I did not authorize the roof being cut off, I was charged for it. The final invoice included another $500 for welding it back on…apparently a big moneymaker for this shop. (Making money to cut it off, and more money to put it back on...for no reason). I asked what the extra $1000 was for. When it was pointed out to me, the work was negligible…it resembled a 2 hour job @ 75.00 an hour.I thought my $10,000 would buy a lot of welding and fabrication. It did not. $7000 was spent at their shop. For that I lost 7 months of time as well as having to put a car back in my garage that was disassembled, cut up, with virtually no work actually being done. Michael obviously pegged me as someone he could continue to extract money from, and finding tidbit reasons to charge me. The hours billed in no way parallel the amount of work actually done. If that is not the case, their crew is the slowest on Planet Earth. This shop has no conscience, with the objective of doing the least possible and charging the most a customer is willing to tolerate. The bad news: a loss of 7k cash, a cut up disassembled car, and virtually no work done. The good news: lesson learned.

Stay away! Horrific experience! We started a restoration project in August 2016 and I was told that the project would be complete in Spring 2017. Two years later, we spent more than three times the discussed budget only to find out that the project was far from complete, poorly fabricated, unsafe, and useless. Due to Corbett's Auto Restoration / Fabbit Customs negligence, inexperience, and ineptness we had to start the project from the beginning with a reliable shop. We are currently seeking punitive damages.

They built me a custom vehicle the likes of which they had never done before. St all times were they courteous and did superior work. They have great style in terms of their vision and make the customer a part of their team. They do things the way you would do them yourself or want them done. I'm so happy with the Wrangler Pickup they built me. I've won a car show with it, drive it every day and it is a well built, engineered, good looking vehicle. I highly recommend them.

Michael was very professional and personable in helping me deal with a rear shock issue on an old rusty truck. While other shops made excuses and refused to do the work, Corbett's stepped up. They completed the work competently and in a timely manner considering my circumstance. This wasn't a "restoration" but a big favor to me with a vehicle that has seen better days. I think this shows their extensive knowledge in this field and ability to "get it done". Highly recommended, thanks for the help.

Not recommended. I have spent so much money fixing the "work" they did on my truck. Nice guys, but not Craftsmen. Steer clear.

Had the folks at Corbett's do a complete body off resto-mod of my 66 Chevelle. I couldn't be happier with their work. I had an idea of how I wanted the car to look and they turned it into a reality. Michael and crew made suggestions along the way that I found very helpful but they never tried to make the car anything other than what I wanted. If you are looking for a shop that is fair, reliable and turns out wonderful work give this folks a call. If you can dream it, they can build it.

I have had two cars worked on at Corbetts; a 66 El Camino and a 71 Suburban. The guys at Corbetts were professional and thorough. The corrected some bad backyard fixes to my El Camino and now it is a show stopper. My suburban was a barn find and they preserved as much of the original character as possible. They work with you and do a great job at engine, body, mechanical, and everything in between. The also do good customizing and are honest.
