“I visited Shelby North Carolina for the ALWS from Texas. That being said hotel rooms Were a few and far between. I was able to book my two nights stay here. upon arrival I met Denise. She was kind and she was apologetic when things were not satisfactory. Very sweet woman.
Let’s be honest you really do get what you paid for so I was not surprised at what I had walked into, but sometimes Good customer service, honesty and transparency make up for those things. I had a pleasant stay, no complaints. There were some cleanliness issues but nothing that bothered me. The location was perfect and only a six minute drive to Shelby high school.

“Came in on Friday to officiate a wedding in Kings Mountain where. Snow storm delayed our return home. We were so well cared for and provided for by this team! Special thanks to Nesha, Kassie and Shawn at the front desk. They helped me procure some antacid for mild heartburn, and made sure that the lobby was clean and dry and safe! Also, Lisa did an amazing job with the daily complimentary breakfast. It was fresh, hot, and truly delicious! Room was clean, quiet and comfortable. Best of all, it was convenient and easy to navigate. I made sure to tell everyone what a pleasant experience we had. Thank you Hampton Inn and Suites for a 5 star experience!”
“Did not read reviews until after I booked and I was scared. I checked for bugs and was worried it would be gross. I might have just got lucky ,everything in the room looks new .”
“We paid 203.00 and stayed 3 minutes and got our money back ,floor was dirty, TV didn't work, sheets didn't look clean this place needs new management will never stay there again.

“I arrived in Shelby on January 2, 2026 to attend my nephew’s funeral. My visit was not as it usually is, as every time I have a reason to come home, I always stay at your facility. This visit was the worse one that I have had. I did the survey indicating how the service wasn’t very welcoming. Ms Lanisha called me and her concerns were of such great approach that I felt as if I were a true VIP. I must say that she has people skills that will erase any negative experiences one may have. Now I can say that I will not even consider staying at any other facility. With a manager like Ms Lanisha, it shows how committed you are at providing quality service to all request your service. Please extend my thanks to Ms Lanisha and thanks to you for having staff with such concern and commitment to you and the community.
