We were very nervous this year because of a few different tax situations that we don’t normally have. Totally thought we were going to need to pay taxes. Cari was AMAZING. Super friendly and knowledgeable! Not only did we not have to pay but she explained how and why and made us feel really at ease about everything. Totally recommend her!

The worst tax experience I've ever had. Actually one of the worst experiences I've ever had with a company. I went to the one in shelby, North Carolina.The person who prepared the return missed some forms which included interest and additional tax I had paid. They were supposed to call me on my appointment so I could make sure they did my taxes properly. They did not call at the appointed time.A couple of hours Later when she called and I realize that she didn't seem to be aware of how I declare principle I have received on 2 houses that I'm getting installment payments on, I asked if she was a CPA. She then handed the phone to somebody else. That person was horrible. Her name is Carrie B and I will be filing a complaint with H&R Block and the board that regulates CPAs.All she could do was argue with me right from the beginning. To tell me that the 1098 mortgage interest statements I sent to the people who have paid me mortgage interest was unacceptable because I had hand printed it. She said it wouldn't hold up in a court of law. That sounded ridiculous because I am declaring interest that I'm sure the IRS would like to know about. She could not answer the question of how do I declare the principle I also received.Instead, she tells me that she's going to have to end the conversation because I have blacked out my social security number on the forms that I brought into their office. She said my Social Security wouldn't be able to be verified.Just because it's written on a tax form doesn't verify my social security number. I said I have social security card. But she didn't care. She was just very rude and hung up on me.I had concerns about potential lawsuits against H&R Block because of their online practices, so I had brought in the forms with the social security number blacked out. I was skeptical about trusting them. Obviously my instincts and gut were correct.If you have your returns done by H&R Block and you're ever audited, you may end up in a world of trouble. That or you may not get your full refund.Since the lady who prepared the return didn't include the additional taxes I had paid, I would have been out about $2700 in refund. If I hadn't asked about it. An amendment would have had to be done.BEWARE IF YOU GO THERE!

Had an apt after the tax preparer called me at 8 pm snd scheduled me a time. I showed up waited 45 min past my time! I ended up leaving without finishing. I actually had dropped off and all we were supposed to do is sign! I’m disgusted with HR Block! The next Mae wants to make an apt with customers, she should keep their scheduled time!!!!! I’m angry at the lack of customer service and support!

My tax agent was wonderful! She relayed all of the information directly to me and was able to quickly fill out my tax forms. I was very impressed.

Mae Bowen has done our taxes the past few years and is great! We've received more on our refunds she has done than we ever have at other places. Totally recommend her!
