I order a Led lamp and kept it in is original packaging until I moved. When I opened it and put it together it did not work. Company would not refund or exchange item. But wanted me to understand that them keeping my over $100 was company policy. I will never order from them again and hope others will not either.

A one man show that is awesome. Mike is a very knowledgeable and personable individual. Come check out the only RadioShack within 100 miles and keep him open!!

I've been here a few times when I needed something for an electronics project and have always been happy to find what I needed.

A local Radio Shack with almost everything you could need as an electronics enthusiast or hobbyist! They do still exist! Unfortunately....the last several times I have been in there, I was very dissatisfied with the customer service, and on my most recent visit, although they had what I needed, I left empty handed. I found what I needed and attemped to pay for my stuff. When their card processing system wouldn't read the chip on my card (which happens often with this particular bank's card) , I was told that I had to pay with cash. I don't often carry cash when I can just use my debit card, so that wasn't an option at that point in time. I asked if he could just bypass the chip feature and key in the card....as most merchants do when the chip doesn't work, and I was told that he could, but it would cost him more and wasn't willing to do that, and that I should "switch to a better bank, or be a little smarter and carry some cash, you never know when you might need it." Now, as a small business owner, who accepts cards, I know that he is charged more by his card processing company for keyed transactions, but it is minimal.....likely only about a quarter to half of a percent additional. Let's just assume that it costs him a whole additinal 1%......my total was only around $20.00....so, even at 1%, it would have cost him an additional 20 cents. It is my understanding that this was the owner.....his decision to make....so it's not like he was a regular empoyee who would later be repremanded for the additional 20 cents in overhead and chose not to get in trouble later on. The choice to lose a $20.00 sale was made instead of pay an additinal 20 cents. As a small business owner myself, I understand the whole maximizing your profit thing, but I also understand that at the end of the day, every sale counts. Like I said earlier, this place has a great selection of products in stock, and offer a wide variety of repair services. I have no doubt that they have a LOT of very happy, loyal, cash-paying customers, and for the sake of this place being a local, privately franchised small business, I hope that continues. I just won't be joining those ranks anytime soon. If you plan on patronizing this business...go for it, just take a hand full of cash with you. The bottom line for me is I felt that this was very poor customer service, mainly the comments about switching banks and being smarter and carrying cash. This review is not necessarily meant to be a bad review, just a heads up for those planning on shopping there.....TAKE CASH. Also, maybe just some constructive feedback to the owner from a less than satisfied would be customer.
