“I go here often since they are closed to me and I live far away from everything else. I'm new to the area and came from a large city and never used to shop here. I really like the staff, they are very nice. The store has a little bit of everything, which comes in handy when we love so far out: food, pet supplies, household, health & beauty, even some clothing items.”

“This dollar General is the one I use most often because it's closer to where I live at but I must admit the 1 in carthage is my favorite. Both have friendly and helpful employees, bitg are pretty clean and both have a wonderful blend of different things for various wants and needs at a great affordable pricewithout the product being too cheap....But I just like the atmosphere at the carthage 1 a little more.”

This 5-star review is exclusively for LeeAnne at the Southern Pines Dollar Tree. Whoever “Ashley” is, she could seriously benefit from training in even the most basic principles of customer service.
LeeAnne, sweet as can be, was managing a line that was growing by the second. It was clear she needed assistance with a particular transaction, so she called for Ashley over the intercom. No response. The people in line with me began commenting on how unfortunate it was that LeeAnne, who was clearly doing her best, was left to handle the rush alone.
After calling for help a second time—still no Ashley. You could see the stress on LeeAnne’s face, but somehow, she continued smiling, greeting each customer warmly. That’s real customer service, and honestly, I was impressed. Everyone in line reassured her that we saw how hard she was working and were happy to wait. It visibly put her at ease, but the fact remained—she needed support.
Eventually, Ashley appeared, and shockingly, began fussing at LeeAnne for calling her. LeeAnne, ever composed, said nothing in return. Ashley then walked right out the front door, yelling at LeeAnne about needing to have “patience”—all in front of a store full of customers. Her tone was aggressive and completely unprofessional. She made no effort to help and left LeeAnne to manage a line stretching halfway down an aisle.
We tried to lighten the mood for LeeAnne with a few jokes, but the truth is, she deserved support—not dismissal and disrespect. Several of us in line said we would leave reviews to speak up about what we witnessed. No one should be treated the way LeeAnne was.
She was a total gem in a stressful situation and deserves better—both from her colleagues and the store’s leadership.”
