The employees are courteous and professional. The building outside is quite nice and I love the entryway, but the lobby is *really* shabby. The whole place could use a good scrub and repainting. Also, the TV monitor that is supposed to be showing us helpful (?) information, has been displaying the same error messages for 3 YEARS!Jeez - USPS fix up this post office - please.

2.6 stars as of the time of this review. That tracks. Employees are incredibly rude. No wonder the USPS lost 6.5 Billion dollars in 2023. They love to say that there is no tax payer funding at the USPS but it just goes to show how little they know (per Reuters ... "In April 2022, U.S. President Joe Biden signed legislation providing USPS with about $50 billion in financial relief over a decade."). If that is not being funded by the tax payer then I don't know what it. Lose the attitude folks. They should clean house down there. I hope someone in power there takes a look at these reviews.

Melinda has an absolutely nasty attitude. My husband called there today to check on an issue with a package continuously looping between Fayetteville and Southern Pines. First of all, as he’s telling her the issue she cuts him off and ask for the address and immediately afterwards she says “oh it’ll be there tomorrow or the day after tomorrow.” She NEVER asked for a case # or tracking. He even asked - “so you’re aware of the issues with this package and have the package?” She literally disregards his question and says again “it’ll be there tomorrow or the day after tomorrow.” I will FOR SURE be pressing my husband to put in a complaint online for her lack of customer service. The attitudes, lack of respect and customer service the post office as a whole is known for has to stop. If you don’t want your job or want to do it for that matter, then QUIT and take your behind home. There’s always someone to replace you who wants and would appreciate the job. Nasty for no reason!

Everytime I have a check coming, I never get it. I have 49 coming and informed delivery says, for the 2nd day, that they are coming and no mail person in site or no mail. I'm very disappointed. I still have a check that, after 2 months, still has not arrived. Filing a police report tomorrow.

Everyone I have dealt with has been rude when I haven’t even done anything but hand a package. I’ve had eye rolls and everything. Do not go here if you respect yourself

Wow! Didn't know it was possible to have such an unpleasant interaction. Think I'll just turn around the next time I see that guy working.

This is the most unusual post office I’ve been to. It’s located in the old building. It’s beautiful! A little confusing inside but the workers are very nice and polite.

simply concerned why a teller is not wearing a mask during a global pandemic. I have seen her without a mask on the last two times I have visited.

My preferred post office for sending out packages! I run a business and can't recommend the Southern Pines Post Office enough. All if the workers I've encountered have been courteous, kind, and extremely professional, not to mention how fast the service is! Got a PO box here just because I trust the staff so much.

I'm getting highly perturbed with this post office. They are very nice on the phone but someone isn't doing a very good job. I have called for over a week about my medication that was delivered to my old address. The mail carrier stops every day. I have called over 5 times and they take my number yet no one has bothered to call me. One day they have my meds then the next day they can't find it. It's constant phone tag. One of the medications in the bag is one that I desperately need. I called the other day and spoke to a woman who said I could pick it up the next day at the post office. I was unavailable due to medical reasons. So I called the following day to tell them my husband would pick it up. They said they couldn't find it!! I don't understand how they have it one day as then don't the next. Now I can't even get through to talk to anyone!

Please have an idea of how much it is to ship or mail the item your bringing in. On two occasions now this post office has attempted to and charged me more than what it should cost to ship my item. The items in question in this example are bubble mailers (the Manila ones) that usually ship for $1-$1.15 however at this post office they've charged $3.82 each time. This may not seem like much hit being as I am mailing items pertaining to my small business the extra shipping charges can accrue. I suggest using the Aberdeen or Pinehurst Post Offices as they seem to have a better understanding of the shipping process. The other two as well actually listen to my concern, when I went to the Pinehurst Post Office and they tried and charged the higher price I mentioned that usually it was the lower price and they re-measured and re-weighed the item and got a second pair of eyes on it to confirm it. At the Southern Pines Office when I asked for a second opinion they said no, this is the way it is. Avoid the SOP Post Office.

Whomever is the mail carrier around Page St or Leak St needs to check the box to see if there is mail going out. This is the third day in a row they haven't taken my mail that needs sent out. And it has happened twice before.
