These ladies are great! Friendly and knowledgeable are the two best words I could use to describe them. I just know they'll have me settled in my own home in due time.

Always a pleasure working with them for a quality rental. Our mother was born and raised in Southport so it’s like a second home.

Very impressed at the service and southern hospitality provided by Katherine as buying agent to our friends! She followed through on details to assist in negotiations quickly and promptly so a contract could be worked out in a hot busy market! Grateful and would highly recommend her if looking for a home near Oak Island, Holden Beach, Shallotte, Southport or surrounding area!

Very courteous and helpful with critter invasion. They were prompt and affordable, cleaned our crawlspace. The technician who helped us with some extermination issues was knowledgeable and helpful. Highly recommend this local business.

So I waited for an email to review my stay at the Mermaid Cove Cottage, but it never came. Since myStay on 5/19/22 things have been a little hectic so I’m just getting to a review now. So let me start by saying i was super excited about renting in southport!! I had visited the town in November and cdnt wait to return. I had booked the rental house and didn’t receive too much info on it (I’m used to renting in the obx where I’m typically flooded with emails regarding my stay) so I reached out just to confirm my stay was in fact booked. I didn’t want to drive from NY to NC without a place to stay. I received an email back from Casey who seemed annoyed at my inquiry, also was a bit snippy with the response. I replied and never heard back. Fast forward to 5/19. We get to the rental office which is where we are supposed to pick up our house keys per the emailed instructions by Casey, yet there are no keys there for me. It’s a Sunday so the office is closed. I contact Casey by text because that’s what the email stated to do, waited a bit, no response. I then call? No response. We have no driven about 13/14hours? Call Casey one last time? No response. I call the office in hopes there’s an emergency line. There are two ppl listed to call/text. I text Brian, no response, I call no response. Called him a few more times then moved on to the 3rd contact. I drive over to the house to make sure someone else didnt take the keys since they’re sitting pretty much out in the open, thankfully no. As I’m on the phone calling the 3rd person again, Brian calls and says “hey yeah so I confirmed you are supposed to check in today.” Yes I know or else I wouldn’t be here. He says “ok I’ll meet you in the office in 5 minutes.” It was a little bit longer than 5 minutes but I was just grateful he showed up. Brian shows up, can’t locate the keys for a bit. Says he confirmed the house was clean. At that point I just got wanted to get out of the car and relax from the long drive. He sort of apologized. Although I didn’t feel like it was his responsibility. I’m not exactlySure who screwed up but Casey is not reliable and hopefully Casey didn’t receive a commission for my booking. Casey never apologized. Nor did Casey contact me at all. The 3rd person, sorry I cannot remember the name, did call me to make sure I got in the house. No one offered to give a discount for the inconvenience. Nothing. It left a bad taste in my mouth. Southern hospitality? Where? It was sort of like “oh well.” Didn’t appreciate it. I had my dog with me who was way too through with being in the car as well. So the house itself was adorable, has a few quirks, but adorable. The inside is exactly as pictured, the yard is not. They pictured and mentioned a fenced in yard for the dog to run around in? It was a pile of mess and weeds. A completely unmanicured yard. I cdnt even think of letting my dog loose. I was afraid I’d lose him in the random bushes and brush. The town is lovely. I’m a huge Nicholas sparks fan which is why I visited in the first place. I will be back but hopefully I can find another realty company. This one didn’t meet my expectations. But again thanks to Brian for actually showing up.

We met Katherine Hufham several years ago when we purchased a property listed by her. Since then she has helped us with several more purchases in the Southport/OKI area. Her knowledge of the local area and expertise in handling all types of real estate transactions is second to none.

My good friend went down to purchase a property in N.C. and the listing realtor was an individual by the name of KATHERINE WOOTEN. In the listing agreement it stated in black and white that there would be a $500 credit for the removal of the excessive debris that was throughout the property. This wasn’t negotiated, this wasn’t something that was asked for. This was in the listing in an attempt to make the listing that much more attractive and enticing. Needless to say that promise was never fulfilled. Actually it turned out to be a complete lie.The junk removal company was ordered and scheduled to come and remove the debris from the property on the day of closing. KATHERINE WOOTEN is the person who scheduled the removal of the debris. Once the closing had taken place and was completed, Ms. WOOTEN called the junk removal company and canceled the order. When the question was asked as to why the company never showed up to remove the debris, we were informed that Ms. WOOTEN cancelled the order and never paid for anything as promised in the listing. This is the definition of Bait and Switch. They promised to help pay towards the removal of the debris and once it was time to fulfill that promise, they backed out.DO NOT USE AND DO NOT TRUST KATHERINE WOOTEN. She lied and completely stabbed my friend in the back. This is an absolute shame that this would take place. And anyone who chooses to employ someone with this morality is just as liable.Absolutely disappointing and disgusting. Shame on you KATHERINE WOOTEN. SHAME SHAME SHAME!!!!
