Very over priced and the food wasn't that good. I don't recommend at all. 2 stars for the meat which wasn't bad. I got the teriyaki steak and chicken. Couldn't eat the chicken but the steak was alright. Won't go again

I love this restaurant, I have been a customer since 2015, I love their teriyaki chicken and love trying their sushi, also their deep fried cheesecake is to die for, staff is super polite and friendly

Great Japanese food, but very slow. I have waited about an hour so far. Food was good when it was made. Tried them again, but the website gave me options that we didn't receive. I don't need extra sauce that we won't use.

Tengu switched to take-out only during covid and kept it that way, which is good for them since it keeps costs low but it's hard to get take-out hibachi and it be exactly like if you were dining in. The sushi is ok, but they make huge rolls, so it's worth the money.

First off, we are from out of town. We found them online and went by the menu. Got there and prices were all higher than on the web menu. Called and told them I wanted crunchy roll. He recommended the yummy roll. Got 2 of them and they were double price of what I wanted. Food was horrible. Soup tastes like pure grease, crab meat tasted like it was tuna out of a can. No seasoning on anything. No prices given over phone. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND

Could not dine in due to Covid restrictions. It is not a Japanese Steakhouse without a show.

I have to admit I have been nervous to eat food from places that still are not allowing dine in. However I have taken out sushi twice now and I think it is still just as good as when they were doing dine in. I always get the diamond roll and still love it! You can't beat the price of these rolls for the amount of pieces you get and the size of the pieces. It so upsets me paying 15$ for 5 pieces of sushi the size of a quarter. You definitely don't have that issue here. Just wanted to leave an updated review from someone who has gotten sushi here twice in the past few months. Still one of my favorite places to get sushi especially now that Thai peppers is gone. Would give 5 stars but still not allowing dine in is a bummer.

Food is always hit and fresh, very nice portions. Glad to pay a little more to get this quality!

I could look past the fact that they only do takeout and delivery if only their food was worth it. Firstly, the prices online do not match their in-person menu. I brought this to their attention and they blamed it on google and that the online menu was from 2 years ago. I suggested that they add photos of their updated menu prices themselves and it was just one excuse after the other. There's a $1 difference in the sushi rolls I ordered compared to the online menu and an almost $4 difference with the hibachi prices. It may not seem like much but it adds up quick. I ordered steak and shrimp hibachi and some sushi. The hibachi was bland, the rice was chewy and tasted a day old like it had been reheated, the salad it came with was watery (the "ranch" dressing also tasted like nothing), the shrimp sauce tasted and smelled old, and the steak was just barely cooked to temperature. The only edible part was the shrimp. You would think after 2 years they would update their menu so it just feel like false advertising and trying to swindle and lie to their customers. Will NEVER be back.

Ordered and had it delivered. Everything was good except the soup. I opened it up and immediately the color and smell almost made me vomit. It smelled like someone had urinated into the take out cup and the put it in the bag. Definitely threw out immediately. Hopefully they step their soup game up or at least check to see if their chefs need more bathroom breaks.

My husband spent many years as a sushi chef once we moved to southport we have had limited options. Tengu is the best sushi in town for sure! Unfortunately they had to close in house dining but that did not affect the quality of our to go order!
