Dwayne, owner of Dr. Automotive, is a very dishonest person, and I felt like his intentions was to scam me. I learned about Dr. Automotive through my co-worker who told me that he allowed the salvage shop to have his car at no cost due to failed transmission. So, I called the shop on Thursday, October 29th, 2020 to see if they would be interested in purchasing my car for $2000 due to engine issues. Dwayne answered the phone and asked what type of car I was trying to sell, did I have car title, what was wrong with the car, and how much was I trying to sell the car for. After I told him that I have the title to a 2011 Volkswagen Tiguan with engine issues in which I would like to sell for $2000, he told me to text pictures to his personal phone, so I texted him pictures of the vehicle. He told me that he was interested in buying the car but would stop by later to see car, and I said ok, see you later. Strangely, he called my phone at approximately 9:40pm and said he was outside my house to see the car. So, my sister and I step outside with the car key so that he could inspect the car in and out, and we also discussed type, issues, and selling price of the vehicle for a second time. He said he would come by Friday to buy and pick car up if his ex-brother in-law pay him the money that he owes him. I said fine but it must be before 2pm because I have work Friday afternoon. He agreed. It's the next day, and I had not heard back from Dwayne before I had to report to work, so I thought he had changed his mind, and I had no intentions on contacting him. Later that evening, he texted me approximately 5ish and said he had the money and to call him. I texted him back and told him that I was at work, but if he was still interested in the car come by on Saturday, October 30th, 2020, before 1:30pm because I had to be at work by 2pm, and we can do business. He never called or stopped by before 1:30pm on Saturday, but he called later that evening, and we agreed that he would come purchase and pick up vehicle on Monday, November 2, 2020 before 1pm. So, I called him this morning at 10ish to see when he think he could make it to my house, and he told me to call him in an hour to remind him about meeting because he was in the middle of picking up a van from Asheville and heading back to his shop in Sylva. I agreed. An hour later, he called me, and he told me that he would be at my house "in a few" because he is having a hard time getting his tow truck to crank now, and I reminded him that I had to be at work by 1pm and said ok. He shows up at my house at 12:45ish with a stranger driving him in a silver sedan claiming he could not get the tow truck to crank and would pick vehicle up later. He asks me if I would accept $150 for the car, and I said no that's not what we agreed on, are you joking? He sits in car for several minutes and it appears he is counting money. While he counts out the money, I clean all of my personal documents and belongings out of the car, and once I am done cleaning out the car, I ask for a Bill of Sale, and he then asks for a copy of my ID , and he still has a picture of my ID in his phone which is scary because of all of his weird behavior. So, because he did not come with a Bill of Sale nor a receipt book, I went inside my house to get a piece of paper and a pen. When I return with everything needed to write up the Bill of Sale, he begins to write it up with money still folded up in his hand, so I asked him if I could count the money while he write up the Bill of Sale, and immediately after he hands me the money, I realize its only $200.00. I respond with this is only $200, and he said "yes" $200 is what we agreed on, and I said no we discussed on 2 different occasions that I was looking to sell the car for $2000, and you said you were interested in buying the car at that price, and my sister can vouch because she was there each time. He said I must have misheard you but that is way too much, so I handed him back his $200, and we departed ways. I really feel as though Dwayne was trying t

If I could give him zero stars I would. I had a few things wrong with the front end of my truck. He quoted me $700 plus some welding work (the welding work ended up being $200). He also said that the work would take a week or so. After two and a half weeks later I got my truck back (he didn't do the tire rotation, the alignment and the ball joint replacement that we previously agreed upon. (He took it to another place to do that work). The truck didn't even make it 200 yards down the road. When I called Dwayne and told him the truck was still not working, he told me to "calm down," and "relax son it's just a truck"; then hung up on me. Needless to say I figured he'd fix his mistakes at no additional charge. Instead, he charged me another $1,100 and another week went by before I finally got my truck back. The total bill was $2,300 and took almost 4 weeks. Not only was his work shoddy, but he was also very unprofessional and rude throughout the whole process.

Most reasonable. Dewayne the owner, treats you with respect. If you need a part hard to get.... He's got it! Blowed my mind! Bigger inventory than first glance. Very friendly staff. Especially Charles and Vicky. We will always be repeat customers.
