Try to let Mother Nature know not to mess with Optimum on a holiday weekend. It's been down for 48 hours, starting on Veterens day, as a community outage and the service rep pretty much laughed in our faces and said it would be a few more days lol oh well maybe all their techs and linemen are veterans (which would be fine by me) but more than likely they are the second rate company everyone warned us about. Otherwise they're alright

Speeds are rarely as advertised. They refuse to pro-rate a disconnect service. You will pay an extra month when you disconnect.

The Optimum physical office in Sylva on Skyland was staffed by a friendly and very competent employee. Likewise the cable guy who came out to my house the following week and had me connected within two hours. Likewise the subcontractor who came to my property to locate buried cables. I suspect the same competence will be displayed by the team that comes out to actually bury the cable a few weeks from now. My upload and download speeds are x25 faster compared with DSL, for about $20 less per month.

I had to disconnect for two months due to a living situation. I called back to re-install and they sent a technician out within two days! The technician was very professional and made sure I was satisfied and knew the passwords before he left. With the holidays coming up I was able to secure a 100-300MB line for even lower than I was paying when I cancelled.Looking forward to adding a cell-phone plan. Great service - will recommend to anyone in my neighborhood.

Worse than even Morris was. Local office no longer accepts calls, I called four times and every person is on the other side of the planet and unable to tell me anything. The entire company is less than useless and I’ve been on hold for almost a half hour.

I added tv services. Tech never verified that the equipment was working after less than 10 minutes doing installation. Spent hours on phone with tech support getting remote to work., who were great. Did not wear a mask. Showed up 2 hours before appointment not sure of why he was there.A day later SAP kicks in and could not get it turned off. Tech support no help this time. Remote is acting weird again. Returning equipment tomorrow.

WORST COMPANY!!!! They shut off our internet without any warning. We called to pay the balance and get it turned back on. Our monthly payment went up. We were paying $45 a month and now they want us to pay either $70 or $140. We were then told that we have to pay to have someone come out and give us a new device to get our internet turned on. We talked to multiple people yesterday over the course of 3 hours. The people were so rude to us.
