One of the employees named Will helped me out and I appreciate him. He deserves a raise for his hard work.

It's absolutely shameful that whoever delivers my mail is so lazy that they lie as to the reason why an Amazon package can't be delivered. I ordered some 16x20 picture frames and the carrier posted my mailbox was full which is a complete lie. Whoever it is, is too lazy to come up the drive and leave it. This would literally take less than 30 seconds! I'm right beside the road! The USPS takes money from Amazon to deliver packages then doesn't do it. And of course the Post Office will not answer the phone. I don't know how these lazy people get by with taking advantage of people.

Worst service ever. They take money from Amazon and others to deliver packages, but rarely do unless they fit in your mailbox. If not, they use the scam of "Customer requested pickup" so they don't have to leave a notice, redeliver, or return to sender after 5 days (because then the sender who paid the postage would know of the scam). Long customer lines at all hours because of this, and the local and 800-phone goes to instant busy-signal at all hours. The counter staff will tell you anything, including that paying for postage doesn't mean home delivery, that one has to "register" to receive mail at all, and other fabrications. Really a disgrace to our town and the USPS in general.

I’m not sure whether it’s due to laziness, incompetence, or ineptitude but these people cannot do their job. I ordered a desk that is 55 inches wide and on delivery day I got the infamous “mailbox full” message. Of course you can’t put a darn desk in a mailbox. Try my front door! Told them to do so in the rescheduled delivery. They didn’t even try again to deliver it. Yeah it’s kinda heavy but one person can still lift it alone. Just terrible.

I've lived plenty of places and thoguht Waynesville had the worst post office until I moved here. I've had several packages marked as "delivered to mailbox" that weren't delivered at all. Typcially, they do show up within a day or two, but why are they marked delivered beforehand? I've also had several packages marked "customer has requested the shipment to be held" even though I've NEVER requested this. Once, the item was available for pickup at the post office even though the clerk told me "sometimes they mark that if they can't get to it, so they'll try again the next day." Ummm...then why is it sitting in the PO if they were planning to deliver it? Another time, my husband tried to pick up a "held" package only to be told they couldn't find it and hopefully it would be delivered soon. Also, forget about calling. No one ever picks up. Literally never. And the wait times are ridiculous because they are understaffed. I waited 50 minutes to ship two small parcels.

Tracking shows the local Sylvia office has had my package for over 2 weeks. Impossible to speak to someone. They hang up the phone when they hear a voice on the other end and then the phone rings and no one picks up when you call back. Zero customer service.

Ed is one of the most genuine, helpful staff and takes the time to get to know all who swing by the post office. Will is kind and helped me take several packages to my car without me asking. I appreciate all the hard work of our staff, especially those wrestling with all the Amazon packages and have never had an issue!

I concur with other reviews-Mail hanging a foot out of your mailbox, wide open, when your box is 200 feet away from your house. don't feel like getting out of your car and putting it on the porch .Next day undeliverable at 8:30am. No try, I Scheduled a redelivery with USPS and it was successfully rescheduled & confirmed. Next day, no show.I Called. Thankful they answered phone. Guy said it's marked "heavy", I said.."so am I sol?" He said he'd see if the guy could fit it in the car tomorrow: tomorrow: no delivery.Unfortunately, Google reviews are for people with options.Better to send in an email to the USPS. Even then it's a desperate attempt, but at least better.Years ago upon 1st moving here, I did that first. They got the msg quick. I got a phone call from the local PO asking why I didn't call and take it up with them first, but I think that was just so they could go back to normal service and maybe not get called out?In their defense, the Usps is not giving them the tools to do the massive job that is shipping in 2022..but don't use the motto "we deliver for you" and then you can't deliver..Needs to be privatized. UPS and FedEx do a fine job. I cringe when I see my tracking and see that it's USPS.I will say though, that when I do go get my packages, they are reasonably helpful..

This is the WORST customer service I have ever experienced. They hold packages for no reason at all and mark them as “customer has requested the shipment to be held.” Don’t bother to try calling they will never answer the phone. When I do drive across town to retrieve my package, I’m met with an attitude if I ask any questions about why my package was held. Good luck if you ever have to deal with this post office.

Very frustrated with the delivery here. We moved here the end of February and have never experienced such poor delivery practices! I had a box crammed into my mailbox that was nearly impossible to remove. The box actually had to be crushed to fit in the box. I had a box rubber banded to the open door of the mailbox. Today I got a notice that an attempt had been made at 8:30 am after the tracking shows the package being accepted at the post office at 8:24 am! The post office is across town and takes at least 15 minutes to drive to so I know this was not accurate information. Another package was marked as out for delivery but when the mail arrived that package was not left. Inside the mailbox was a note saying the box was full or the receptacle too small. The truth is the carrier is LAZY and it was raining so she did not want to get out of her car. Too LAZY to do the job for which she is paid! I have my two small grandchildren with me and there is a reason I order online for DELIVERY! When I came to write this review I am reading that this is a common problem all around the city! Reviews are written and should be used to find out where you can improve service! Shame on you Sylva Postal Delivery for not responding with a change when you see so many bad reviews! Mail delivery INCLUDES packages! Please do your job!

This is the only post office I've experienced that will not deliver mail that doesn't fit in your mailbox. They will not bring it to your porch, and they pretend there is "no secure location". Even if you fill out redelivery requests asking them to put it on your porch (which is an option on the form). This means your packages end up in limbo for a long time until finally being deemed undeliverable so you can get a refund and try to order a different model while praying to the Lord the next company uses UPS or FedEx.I'm actually a big fan of the USPS, but this one specific post office is the unfortunate exception.
