So, I went to Ben's Automotive in Tarboro, and there were no prices on the cars I wanted to look at. I walked inside to inquire about them and was greeted by Greg (owner) and his son (Cody). Greg asked if I was looking for a car for myself or someone else, to which I replied, "Someone else." He then asked if it was for a girl, and I said yes. The next question surprised me; he asked if it was for a black girl or a white girl. Taken aback, I decided to play it cool and replied black. Despite going along with their conversation, the experience left a negative impression, and I wouldn't recommend the dealership, especially considering feedback I've received about potential discriminatory practices. Don't go here.

I hate a sarcastic sales person. This place if full of them. I went here a few years ago and based on the most recent comments they are still weird AF. THE OWNER gives me perv vibes like he running a human trafficking ring and always flashing cash. He never is transparent about pricing, website not up to date, and he does this weird thing asking customers about how much money they have but won't say how much the cars cost. Beware of this place, they have some nice stuff but I highly recommend that you already have your financing terms with an outside source prior to dealing with them. Don't do the BHPH they will scam you!

Greg was highly unprofessional. He degraded me over the phone, made fun of my income, and told me to “get a boyfriend with a lot of money to come down there and buy me a car” Terrible customer service.

This had to be one of the weirdest dealings with a car salesman in my life and I'm 55yrs old and have been to many car lots and purchased vehicles. First we were looking at a truck we where interested in. We walked around waiting on salesman to finish with other customers which is normal and not a problem. As soon as we started talking to the salesman I ask how much was the truck and how many miles. He stated to us he sales the vehicle's with low miles the other guys sales the high mileage stuff. I ask where he was and he didn't know. Then he ask me a bunch of off the wall names if I knew them. Needless to say, I was confused because never seen this man in my life. Then he asked me how much cash I had on me right now. I said I wanted to find out information about the truck. He then pulled a wad of money out of his pocket and said so your just looking not buying. I had about all I wanted of that weirdness and got back in my truck and left...like I said from the beginning one of the weirdest sales experience I have ever had and would never step foot back on that car lot, period !!! Ps only reason for one star it was as low as I could go

Today as previously posted was the weirdest experience ever at a car lot. Husband and I inquired about the dark colored Ford in the corner of the lot. We waited for salesman to finish with prior group. He stated that truck was sold under a different salesman and proceeded to ask us over and over if we knew random names of about 10 or 12 different people. We finally said no do you know who they are and he said no. Asked us if we were buying or just looking. If we were just looking a work truck. How much cash we had on us while he took a wad of cash out of his pocket and flashed it at us. We felt like we were on an Impractical Jockers episode and decided to walk away and he yelled come back in couple weeks and he would have some more inventory to look at. We could have bought any vehicle on the lot that day but will forever ride by there and never look twice again. But will forever tell of that psychotic episode we experienced there. CRAZY!!! Still shaking our heads !?!?

My mom and I went here just to look for at a certain car since I just got my license. The conversation started off about how to finance the car to “who did you vote for.” He was not a good salesman and he made it seem like we couldn’t pay or afford the car I was looking at or wanted!! This is unacceptable, especially seeing all of the other reviews people are writing!!! How are they still in business?

Don’t mind any of the negative reviews, they are probably sensitive costumers. Went in there to purchase a car for my wife and they worked with us on down payment and price. Very friendly and helpful people, will definitely be going back for another car.

Absolutely terrible customer service. When I pulled on the lot there were already 4 or 5 other potential customers looking at cars on the lot. Me and my husband walked around and I had picked out a couple of potential vehicles I was interested in, however no prices or mileage was listed on the vehicles. After waiting a while and no sales man in sight I went inside to inquire. The "secretary" did not know any information at all and yelled to what I'm assuming should have been the salesman "Rick" who couldn't even be bothered to come out of the office even tho he had many people on the lot. He yells back from the office a price for one of the vehicles but couldn't tell me the mileage and said oh you'll have to ask the other guy. Said secretary points in the direction of "the other guys" office which was two closed doors so I asked which door and she then says oh I don't think he's here. Again neither could be bothered to get up from the desk or come out of the office. I have enough money to buy a vehicle out right should I want to but I can guarantee you it will not be from them. I don't understand why they are even in business if you cant be bothered with potential buyers.

GREG IS UNPROFESSIONAL! The man and his son don’t know how to talk to potential customers. Went to buy a car, cash in hand. He refuses to sell me a vehicle off the lot but says “I could get you in a car next week”. Also kept saying “show me the money” “we have a lot of people looking not buying” or “I look forward to you missing a payment” If a customer is there to BUY then you SELL! I left his side of the lot and went to go speak to his brother about a car, he got me in and out and ultimately made me feel comfortable and respected.

I purchased an Acadia from Ben's Automotive Center about a year ago. I told Cody what I needed, and Greg and Cody made it happen. Every time I go in to make a payment, they ask me how the Acadia is doing. The Acadia has been great, and the price was thousands below the competition.

These people do not know how to talk to potential customers. I was looking for a car for my teenage son, I told them I was interested in 3 cars on their lot. Told the dummies I had 9k but they were to busy being judgemental, they thought I said 900. These people are very unprofessional. Take your hard earned money elsewhere. Somewhere that the only thing that matters is green. Not how you look, not what you drive, or if your married or not. Yes, they actually asked. Just bad business.
