See alot of feedback about the staff. I have never been to a more welcoming gym. The people and the staff there are all super nice and helpful!

This independent YMCA is not up to par with other YMCAs. So expect the worse service and rude workers.Former customer here, when my child was 3 she used to take swimming lessons here. I remember there was very welcoming vibe that we signed up for membership.Today, I was invited today by my friends as guests for our kids to go swimming together. I figured it was a good opportunity to see if I should get my membership back after 3 years. This very condescending disrespectful man that works at your front desk , his name is ANDY should not be at your front desk at all.Andy, needs some training on how to properly talk to your possible clients. He acted like he owns the place and was doing me a favor for allowing us to be in the building.Yes, We failed to show the paper for guest pass and I told him he’s inside with 2 kids he just can’t leave them. He insisted I needed to pay a guest fee.Honestly, would not mind paying any fee provided it was addressed in a proper manner and not like how Andy announced.Even after sharing how Im also interested to be a member this man made me feel like being in that building without handing him money was illegal.Andy has zero customer service skills and have zero place being in a front desk.PS Please review your cameras or have one and see how this man lifted his ? on my face to stop me from talking. What a Horrendous experience!

Had my son’s birthday party here at the pool. Multipurpose room was NOT set up, they did not direct us to where the chairs were, we had to find them ourselves, set them up, take them down. They never told me this is how it was going to be. $200 just for a room I had to set tables and chairs up in, and an hour swimming, not worth it, and I had to do it all myself? While being 20 weeks pregnant. I could’ve had a party at my house cheaper than this and less work. Not very impressed with how management handle this. I will NOT BE BACK.

I wish we can rate the ymca by departments. I never have been a member there. Took my three kids under 6 to swim with Katie, the aquatic manager to teach them swimming lessons. She was nice nasty to my 4 yr old who is well behaved. It is almost like she has bipolar where she will be nice to him then the next moment talk to him rudely. I called her and told her that I am pulling them out of her class. Waiting for a refund bc I paid for the next season which would start in OCT. I didnt know that two of my kids will still be in her class so I cancelled those swimming lessons. The good thing about it is that the YMCA is everywhere. As a result, I will be contacting closer facilities in different cities. I forget to say that I spoke with Katie’s boss. She never said that she will talk to Katie or anything. She did say that she is sorry that I had that experience. When I spoke to Katie, she never apologized for her rude behavior. If u look at the reviews, people are writing bad reviews bc they had a bad experience with the people who work in the pool area. If u look at the reviews, would one assume that everyone is lying. Anyway, my kids still will go there for soccer. Their soccer coaches are wonderful and I have no problem with them.

Horrible communication. Needed to cancel my membership and had to go down there 3 different times just to cancel. The second time i was told after doing paperwork that it was canceled. They continued to charge me. I went back down there the third time and redid the paperwork again to cancel that I had already done. I took a picture of the paperwork this time for proof. Checked my bank account today and have been charged yet again!

Horrible experience!!. I signed my son up for swim lessons and trusted them to keep him safe. He never swam before in his life and they had a teenaged coach teaching him. I found out on my son's first day his coach had him jumping in 10ft of water ! My son didnt even realize how deep the water was and it really scared him, the next jump my son had told me he freaked out and gulped alot of water. Then the next day I told the swim manager that I really didnt want my son jumping in 10ft of water starting out, and she just said she would let his coach know to not let him do anything hes not comfortable with.Do you know how hard it is for one teen to tell another teen hes scared of the water? I was extremely upset that she just brushed me off after I told her specifically, I did not want my son to start off jumping in 10ft water.. I would not recommend trusting them with your child's life unattended!!!!!! Some managers here have no respect!!!

I feel they need more experienced swim coaches. My son is a beginner swimmer at 14 y/o, and his trainer was another teenager. His very first day his coach had him jumping into 10ft of water ! My son had told me that he was told to jump in but he didn't realize the water was that deep and it really scared him, another jump he gulped lots of water. I called and spoke with manager but she blew me off like it was nothing. Even the desk clerk was like your son is in a beginner class he should NOT be jumping in 10ft water. I feel they were careless with my son's life...

YMCA promotes single mothers and children to join but the staff at this location treat them very unkindly. The first time I brushed the horrible customer service off but the second time left me feeling like I never want to return to this location again. The staff (especially the older woman) need to be trained on how to treat customers. A supposed to be convenient trip to the gym with kids was ruined today. I’m so disappointed.

They have such an amazing facility that can be used to bring glory to the lord, but their treatment of their employees is completely distasteful. Loyalty, dedication, and hard work was never valued throughout my many years working for them. I had more experience than many people but was never given priority to shifts, requested time off, and when it was time for raises, mine was less than those who hadn’t been there as long. I worked multiple positions and it still happened. I was left in the heated pool area with air temperature 86 and above and expected not to use the bathroom or eat for hours, sometimes a whole shift, so that means limited water as well. I was forced to work with a severe concussion after a major wreck. Worked through the loss of my first child and up until I had my second and was never asked to leave nor resigned but was never given the chance to come back. I’ve watched countless other dedicated employees be fired under cruel circumstances. For an employer that expects their employees to show pristine Christian values they seem to fall short themselves.

All the staff here are SUPER nice except for the girl life guard in the morning. One of the rudest people! She literally stared at us the whole time we swam with the rudest look. And stayed trying to say something to us. I was telling my kid to come down off the ramp and she proceeded to fuss about it when obviously I was handling it . If your gonna swim come at night the guy lifeguard is so sweet and won’t make you feel uncomfortable.

It’s a shame . This place was honestly the best gym I don’t know what happen. I had to cancel my membership due to COVID. So as the year passed I started another membership but in Kernersville with a family plan. I work in Nordfab In Thomasville , after work I would try to go to the gym but then encountered a lot of problems in the from office. At first they told me , we don’t see you as a member. After they found me and saw that I was , they told me you can’t come in here no more you need to go to the one in Kernersville because “ we need to pay our bills too” that’s what the boss man said . Honestly it’s very sad because I know everybody, nice people , nice equipment , but when they told me I was allowed to come in no more . After paying my monthly bill and finding me as a member, and still saying I’m not allowed due too there not making any money from me put fire in my belly.Alan is the only one saving this place…learn from him
