This is a run down arcade. When we went half the machines did not work or just took our quarters. The machine that you put your tickets in for toys at the end was broken as well. Has the potential to be an awesome arcade since there is nothing really there but they have a lot of work to do.

Been to this playground the last several years. Each year seams better then the last. The staff is friendly, the cost is fair, the management goes above and beyond to make sure everything is right for your family to make lasting memories. I highly recommend you putting the Patio Playground on your family's vacation bucket list. You won't be disappointed.

Been coming here for the past few summers and it’s such a great place to get ice cream and enjoy a round of golf. Their cappuccino crunch and strawberry flavors are the best!! They have DJ nights some nights as well and that’s always so fun!

I spent all my summers, from birth until my 21st birthday, on Topsail. I rode my bike to this place almost every night. Then when I had my children a few years later, my husband and I started taking them to the island each summer. They love going here for the putt putt, arcade and ice cream and my husband and I love playing pool so it's got something for everyone. Then we walk over to Jolly Roger Pier. Now my kids have some of the same memories I grew up with!

Most of the arcade games are broken and the two small rides for toddlers are also broken. They have ice cream and putt putt directly in the sun no shade so more of a night time thing. If the games were better/working I think it’d be a nicer experience. The lady in charge was a bit rude as well but maybe she was having a bad day.

Edit: I wanted to reply to the business reply. I find this arcade to be one of the best small arcades I’ve been to. When we travel we try to hit up every arcade around. This one has a wonderful balance of price and amusement. The prizes are not what I come for, so it’s not a disappointment to me personally whenever the prizes are no good- I just want to enjoy myself! I played the dance machine probably 2 hours and paid maybe 10$ (including paying for kids who wanted to play with me) on a DDR at Dave and busters that would be 60$. I just wanted to warn people to play for enjoyment sake and not worry about tickets. And because the machines are 25-50 cents I didn’t care when it ate a quarter or didn’t function properly. The accessibility standpoint is absolutely a plus for me. Thank you for what you do, I hope to see you again next year!Original review: Went here for the arcade. They have a dance machine (not ddr, but a diagonal type). I played multiple days and each time played at least 30 minutes. Barely anyone was there and it’s 50 cents for the dance machine (this is amazing, some dance machines are 2$!). The other machines were either very cool older quirky arcade games OR broken/not working properly. The prizes are awful, don’t play for tickets-play for enjoyment of the game. The put put course looks goofy, but might entertain a toddler (or someone like me). Overall it’s a fun place that I enjoy visiting with my family when I’m in town.

Best mini golf in the area! Course is older and not that challenging, but a lot of fun to play. Great family atmosphere, reasonable prices ($8 for ages over 10), milkshakes, and a retro arcade. They have a legit quarter pusher machine, which are IMPOSSIBLE to find (and addictive to play!). Had a live DJ the night I went, he was pretty good and they were raising money for the rescue squad (new jetski). Will definitely be back on all of my Topsail trips!

Putt putt is old school ~ don't expect any frills. It works though ~ it's great family fun, inexpensive, and a few of the holes are a legit challenge. DJ will take requests so your teen daughter can get her Swifty fix while golfing. Beware that some of the video games inside are going to eat your quarters. They are very old, which is both the appeal and a drawback.

Such a fun place to play the most retro arcade games you'll find in this area, and mini-golf.

I’m so happy patio playground is open. We have such fond memories every summer there. My kids always bugging us to go there. The sundaes are so good with lots and lots of fresh whip cream. Retro games bring back child hood memories. I mean who doesn’t like air hockey

3 min walking from the beach and Pier, very tasty ice cream, variety of flavors. Outdoor relaxing sitting. We usually play mini golf and enjoy ice cream after the beach. Happy memories there.

Google site says they are open and their voice mail says they are open. We are down this week drove 20 min from north topsail to find they are closed. Texted the owner on the number provided on google...was the rudest ever. My God child was so looking to play in the arcade and get ice cream. He is only 3. Some people vaca in oct you should have a place on the island for ice cream and arcades...

Awesome date night experience with a little bit of an obnoxious DJ...... it's ok though because mini golf was really fun and there were no bugs. GOD BLESS PATIO PLAYGROUND!!!!!!

Being from the, Chicago area, I had ended up in some really bad parts of town that you just shouldn't be in.... Id rather go back to, Chicago, go to a arcade/ putt putt in the south end at 830 on a Friday night than EVER come back to this place. Can't give less than one star, so glad we made the 125 mile trip from, Raleigh just to extremely disappointed. You know you've failed when even a 6 and 7 year old say "I didn't have fun, I don't want to go there ever again" so.... Guess I'll be taking the advice of my 6 and 7 year old and never coming back. After all, the whole experience is geared towards kids and if the kids don't even like it..... it must really be bad. Just stay away.... Far far away, as far away as you can and keep your money even further. Eventually the witch witch of the east (the owner) will have to sell and then MAYBE, JUST MAYBE.... It can be made a great place again like it was just 5 years ago.... What a joke... not sure what's the bigger joke though, the complete disrepair of the course, the never ending, broken machines... yeah, waste of money, waste of time and Serisouly the most disappointing "fun center" I've not only taken my kids too, but also the most disappointing place I've ever been too in my 35 years of living... and I grew up in, Ohio.... Do you know how boring, Ohio is? It's not as bad as this place, at least it's cheaper to live in Ohio than it costs to go here....Also, fair warning! The place doesn't look like the photos... in fact the photos all look like they're like 5 plus years old... or more.Never bothered to write a review until now.. after like 7 years on here... so that should tell you just HOW BAD, this place actually is.
