Well knowing this market is there for the convenience of those at the Horse show and staying on property you can expect higher prices. But I will say it has a little of everything you might need in a pinch or might have forgotten. Even a nice little beer and wine selection. Bought a decent bottle of wine for $20, which was only $2-3 more than I have paid elsewhere for this wine. Overall it is nice to have this on grounds!

Whoever the girl is at the deli counter, she needs to find a mew career choice. She made horrendous faces when asked for tomato on an egg sandwich, then told us "I'm not there yet," so asked for lettuce, made an even worse face... we also asked for a plain croissant and toasted bagel with butter. We were given one little pack of butter. Then asked for a "few" more butter packs, and were handed one. Upon leaving, we realized that there was a plain bagel in place of the croissant we ordered. We went in to rectify it and were greeted with an adamant wretched attitude insisting that we had ordered two bagels. Perhaps she should stay in the back and away from customer service, but then I would be concerned she may spit in peoples food with that personality!

Total rip off. $9.75 for a pre-packaged sandwich then tax and they auto charge 18 percent "gratuity". I haven't seen a place overcharge like this in a long time

This is located inside the Tryon Equestrian Center and is open to the public. Once you enter the gates go to the left and keep going all the way through the parking lot till you get to the end and you'll see the General Store to your right. The store has an old rustic feel to it with wonderful little details all throughout. They have an ice cream and sweets counter where you can get fresh scooped ice cream, coffee, or other sweets such as candies. The rest of the store has bottled drinks, generous amount of groceries, Tryon novalties, clothes, souvenirs, and a few nice places to sit inside. There's also restrooms right outside the back entrance. The staff is always very friendly and welcoming. I love going here when I'm at the Equestrian Center.

While the general store is good for gathering necessities and the Pony Express is quick and delicious. The coffee, ice cream and checkout counter has gone down hill dramatically since my visit to TIEC last year. I have walked out several times this season. The morning employees do not greet customers and are slow as molasses. Last year there was a very good manager who kept everyone on their toes and knew a thing or two about customer service which is way more than I can say for the current staff, but I have not seen her this year. I'm not asking for anything more than what I know is possible from previous experience .... I will not be going back any time soon.

This building was formerly a gym used by TIEC guests and employees. It was flipped into a General Store not too long ago and has become an exciting place to be. Groceries, ice cream, sandwiches, coffee. TIEC shirts, jackets and hats also. This is the place to grab a snack and get your gear. For a small store, it has a great wine selection! There is seating and free wifi so it's a nice place to catch up on email too.
