My husband and I came in around 6 on a Thursday evening and were promptly seated and then promptly forgotten about. Our server (a male, I don't remember his name), brought us menus and said he would bring us some water while we looked at the drink menu and then never came back. We watched him get another table AFTER we were seated and he brought their waters, their drinks from the bar, and took their food orders and completely ignored us. We just eventually got up and walked out. He lost out on a $200 bill that night as we went elsewhere down the street and ordered drinks, dinner, and dessert. There are fortunately plenty of other great restaurants in this area that want our business so we don't plan to return to this one. Side note, the ambience in there is terrible. Blasting pop music and there is nothing in there to deaden the noise so people have to shout to hear each other resulting in a very loud, unpleasant atmosphere. If people are paying $50 + per plate they expect more.

Our experience was phenomenal! The service is amazing and food is excellent! I had the filet and my husband had the prime rib. Both were superb! From appetizers through dessert, we couldn't have been more pleased.

The entree--scallops and shrimp--was a mixed experience: the shrimp were plump and well glazed: most of the scallops were tasty though some were overcooked and bitter. The waiting time was terrible--nearly half an hour for the appetizer and over an hour for the main course. The crème brûlée was served cold and the surface was inexpertly prepared. It, too, was bitter. Our first experience at The Bank was good. This evening was not. I doubt that we will be back.

Wednesday evening dinner with family My wife had crab cakes my cousin had duck and I had the blackened ribeye. My ribeye was cooked correctly but the cut of meat was unacceptable, loaded with fat. Over half of what was served was fat. The crab cakes were very good. No complaints about the duck

Another outstanding offering for dining in Washington, NC. Professional. Clean. Atmosphere is reminiscent of city life. New Year, Atlanta or London. Treat yourself and your family.

First the menu online is not valid any longer so don’t go in wanting lettuce wraps or a ribeye. Also, no tea - unsweet or sweet - none at all. Water or soda. The calamari was soggy and barely cooked. The scallops n shrimp were good but the scallops were very undercooked. The prime rib is coated in rosemary and crusted to a crisp - not really what you expect for a prime rib. Go in not expecting too much and you shouldn’t be disappointed. We were, but we expected more. Downtown Washington is beautiful with many other good restaurants, so worth the visit and a not so great food experience is bound to happen here and there.

Started with bread basket they serve with salted honey butter that was so good! It set the tone for our meal! Next we shared the charcuterie board and husband had shrimp bisque. He loved the soup and said he could have been happy with another bowl of it. And, I said I could have been happy w the charcuterie l. But, we didn't! We both had prime rib w whipped potatoes and Brussels sprouts and it was the best prime rib I've had. Anne was our server and she was attentive without being intrusive and so personable. Finally they had a violin soloist that we really enjoyed. For our two entrees that included substitutions, a full charcuterie board and a bowl of soup, our bill was less than $120. It was a generous cut of prime rib and we both had more than half left over.

Not impressed. Overpriced. Instead of being told upfront that I can't have two firms of liquor at the table, I was told after the fact I had ordered. My duck was extremely tough, the waitress never asked about why I didn't drink my first drink and switched to wine instead. Will not come back nor recommend. Not a fan of the food or waitress. If you do anything, just get the dessert.

My husband and I had dinner here while doing an overnight in Washington. As mentioned in other reviews, this restaurant is a converted bank and is simple and attractive. A unique feature, the liquors were stored and displayed in the bank vault which was fun to look at. Service was attentive and friendly. Our meals were both excellent. My husband had the short ribs selection which was plentiful. He commented that the chef really knew how to prepare the vegetable sides, which is his common complaint with restaurants. I had the she-crab soup which was delicious and the ahi-tuna appetizer. I typically order this if it is on a restaurant's menu so I have a decent idea of how it should be correctly prepared. I will say that this was the best ahi tuna I have been served at a restaurant- delicious and plentiful. It seems that several of the restaurant's patrons were people who are staying on their boats at the closeby dock. What a lovely experience if you decide to visit Washington, NC.

The water lacked flavor, the ice cubes melted a little to fast and the presentation had no appeal. Criticasters are a dime a dozen and they love the power to control the one sided conversation. The four of us totally enjoyed our appetizers and entres. Their presentation was outstanding. We had four apps, tile fish over fettucini and blackened shrimp and scallops (huge), pork belly over fettucini with a delightful cream sauce...delicious!!!. Blaklee was a wonderful server who was very attentive and helpful. BTW: The martinis were excellent. One was with 1000 Piers and the other Bombay Sapphire. 1000 Piers is a crafted gin made down the block at The Hackney. It's different, for sure. This is a fine dining experience. You will enjoy it.

Food and service spot on. Nice menu with only a few well selected dishes. Quality of the food was great, tuna highly recommended. Service very attentive but always very friendly and especially not permanently disturbing. A great experience, I will definitely come again

Converted bank, clean elegant atmosphere, incredible food and great wait staff. Our food was perfectly prepared, as were our cocktails. Can you say hand-stuffed Bleu cheese olive martini? Yes, please! That was the beginning of a sensation for the taste buds. Something for everyone.

Wonderful food and service Special thanks to Paul, the barman, who helped our friend negotiate the steps into and later out of the restaurant. He also saved our credit card when my husband mislaid it! Our dinner was delicious. Two of us had shrimp and scallops. The others both had the wonderful salad with salmon added on. I reckon there’s nothing bad on the menu! Do not hesitate to eat here, you will not be disappointed.

Food was outstanding (shrimp & scallops, filet, fried green tomatoes). Wine was outstanding (by the glass). Great service. Desserts were only okay (turtle cheesecake, mint creme brulee). Cocktail was only okay (Carolina Jewel). Decor was only okay. Bathrooms are a bit rundown. Put off a bit by wine list, which was a ragged set of print-outs handed to us on a clipboard. Flowers on each table were fresh but unimpressive. Despite the small flaws, I would absolutely go back. The food was really very worth it and made sure a very special night!
