I will start by saying the employees were nice…. On March 15th at approximately 12PM, I went to the Washington Post Office and asked the employee when the court papers that I needed mailed, would be arriving. She said probably Saturday (since it was only going 10 miles away to Chocowinity). Then she said the system said it would be delivered by Monday. It is now Thursday, and the papers still have not been delivered. I paid priority express mail with the tracking number and even bought a priority envelope from them, because I need proof for the court that she was served. The paperwork has still not arrived, and it has been now almost 4 days past there expected delivery. No signature was required. Just for it to be put in her mailbox. I mailed the papers from the Washington post office and she lives in Chocowinity, 10 minutes away. What’s the point of priority shipping and a tracking number when I am just getting told it will probably continue to be delayed? I understand things come up. But how much could possibly come up from the time I paid for priority mail at Washington post office and the 10 minute distance to the receipt’s house? I properly addressed the envelope and the mailbox is accessible. There is no reason for this

Have received my mail from the Washington NC Post office and have been satisfied. Had an issue recently and it was resolved immediately.

Arrived on time, placed my family in line as there is not clear signs for a passport appointment area , took a moment to re do a sheet on the application. Worker comes over, says we were 5 minutes late and the passport application lady would not accept as us as they were closing early. They are posted on the door and website to close at noon. I was also told I was supposed to announce as I walked in the door that I was there for my passport not get in to the line. Again, no sign saying that.

We've lived in several states and the service in Washington is the worst we have ever experienced or heard about. Worse yet, the PostMistress is doesn't care or is incapable of managing the office. Either way, she sould be let go.

I've been here for 12 years. For the first four or five the mail came every day at around 12:30. Then we got a new mail person. Now I'm lucky if my mail comes by 5:00 , if at all . Since then I have had my mail delivered to other places at least 20 times. They have also delivered my neighbors mail to me at least 10 times . I know the people by face now because I've been to their house so many times doing the mail person's job . They messed up my gas bill with a business down the street and I was getting their bills instead. Took me 3 months to get it squared away. 2 months ago they failed to deliver my electric bill and they shut my power off. When I went downtown to tell them they said yeah this happens all the time. And then made me leave a $350 retainer for a year and a half. Right now I'm sitting at work waiting for a package so that I can start Manufacturing. They lied about it trying to be delivered 3 days ago. We have cameras and they never came. They lied about it supposedly being delivered yesterday and they never came. And if you call and complain nothing gets done. The same mail person who's on the phone all the time is still delivering the mail.....to the wrong addresses.

I have not received mail in nearly two weeks from my post office in Washington NC. I just left my local post office. The told me and all the other people there they have no one to scan in packages/mail or anyone to make deliveries. They said they can't find anyone to work. This has been the case for months and no resolution to this problem is expected so they say. This can't go on like this!!!! They also told us they have pallets of unscanned mail filling the building so bad they can't even move around inside the post office. This post office has always had issues but now has completely collapsed. Also, the regular manager of this post office is out till after Christmas. The people of Washington NC deserve better than this. Can anyone do something about this? This post office is in need of rescue as it has completely stopped functioning!!! This is a government agency please do something!!!

If you have another location to receive your mail other than Washington, NC I highly recommend you using it. Packages are constantly being lost or misplaced. They mark them as delivered when they haven't been. And other times they mark packages as “no assess point” or “dangerous animal blocking mailbox”. You can never get anyone on the phone to help you and when you show up in person, they have no answers. I was even told the type of mail does not matter, whether first class, priority, insured, etc. You may get it in a week or a month or not at all. I’m frequently filing claims for missing mail with no response. This has been going on for over 5 years now and is by far the worst usps experience I’ve ever come across. Just read all the reviews and judge for yourself.

As a former usps employee it is really embarrassing to see what has become of the USPS . Part of the name is service which is the last thing that we get in Washington n c . Using their own information in ‘ informed Delivery’ when our packages are ‘out for delivery ‘ yet it may be two plus days before delivery is made . My first day on the job in 1973 , I was told ‘delaying the mail is automatically a firing offense’. Today in Washington nc it seems to be the SOP .

Our mail is often delivered to our neighbors, our neighbors mail often comes to us. Sometimes we get mail for places blocks away from our home. Their online information for passports is wrong. The entire staff is super rude. They aren’t friendly. Don’t ask questions, they’ll laugh at you and then talk loudly to other employees about you, in front of you, and never actually answer your question.

My forward for my mail went through on 9/25 over 2 weeks ago and I've been trying to call to see if they've started to mail anything yet and these lazy people can't even pick up the phone, I may have to drive all the way across the state to get my mail, I run a business and I really need my mail.

Have been here for 5 years. Have heard and read the complaints for that long, but never experienced them. There hv been times i did not get the answers or help i wanted from them but nothing major or dismissive.Until today. Our informed delivery showed packages delivered between 9/15 and 9/22 that were not delivered. On 9/15 it said someone picked up the pkg at post office. Did not happen. Had tracking numbers, the whole page on (non) deliveries but the woman teller had no interest in helping me. "We don't do informed delivery." Gee, do you do tracking numbers?It is one thing to not be able to help or advise. Another to be unwilling. To not want to understand. Apparently, all she wants to do is sell stamps...She said if i was not expecting a pkg it didn't matter! To who? We just got married. I hv no idea who may be sending gifts.Unacceptable.

Mail service is terrible. We get pictures of our mail that is suppose to be delivered. Which ends up being over a week later. Someone needs to figure out why this is happening. Hire more help!

This post office SUCKS! They marked 2 packages as delivered yet I didn't get them. Said they were in my mailbox. I call and they tell me they may have been "misdelivered". Never got a call back after telling me they'd talk to the courier for my route. This is not the first time I've had problems. Packages routinely do not get delivered but get marked as delivered. I'm so sick of not getting my packages. It's absolutely rediculous. Then they tell you there's nothing they can do. Whatever.
